Wenomir stops, then backs away, looking at the gem. Destroying it does seem like a good idea, then they can talk like civilized people instead of fighting because they're told to. He points to the gem, then to the ground, then stomps his foot, hoping Kirk understands that they need to get it on the ground before smashing it.

She takes Arie's hand in her own spidery, clawed one, and leads her over to Shed 7, where she suspects food supplies are.

Likhet taps the door with her knuckles, then frowns.
Stand back, dear. This may get violent.

Arie nods, stepping back. She smiles encouragingly at Likhet.

Kate VS Harnel

Almost immediately, Kate gets some distance. This gives Harnel a chance to get a good look at her.

The robes are not constraining, and the look of the stitches suggests that they are tear-away. She is a golden half-dragon, but the frills are not consistent with what Harnel might be familiar with. The face is more definitely Kate, and her hair is now half frills and half snakey things. One thing is for sure: she has gained a LOT of muscle. Her staff is also worth noting: The magical aspect seems to be secondary to the fact that it is a blunt instrument. Solid steel, it is adorned with a large flanged head.

She immediately takes to the air, putting space between her and Harnel. She begins by casting some defensive spells... she doesn't seem to know HOW she is doing it, but she is.

And when she looks at Harnel, she gets a look on her face.

Nothing personal. Just what I have to do.

Arie nods, stepping back. She smiles encouragingly at Likhet.

She begins to gouge and slash and hack at the door with her fearsome talons, eventually tearing out the lock from the weakened wood and yanking the door open.
She pants, looking at the stores within.
There's water and stuff like beef jerky, dried fruit, and... lots of dried things, actually.

Well, that gets a response. Immediately at the shift, Harnel will move to his sword, pulling it out of the ground. He doesn't want to hurt Kate too badly, even in her altered form, but he knows ways to hit things nonlethally without sacrificing his ability in combat. This is a good thing, seeing as Kate is now apparently willing to fight him.

With a flap of his wings, Harnel takes to the air. He'll have to adapt some of his maneuvers slightly, since he's used to using them while standing on the ground rather than flying, but it won't change the face that he's using them.

Kate may find her spell interrupted as Harnel brings the flat of his sword towards he side.

Kirk shrugs and deposits his weaponry back in his jacket. He mouths the words 'Boost me' and demonstrates the action to make sure Wenomir understands.

Wenomir seathes his sword - he feels like he might regret it, but if need be he can strangle Kirk - and goes to do just that.

Well, that gets a response. Immediately at the shift, Harnel will move to his sword, pulling it out of the ground. Harnel is obviously a melee combatant: keep your distance. She tries her best to do so, avoiding any corners. She finishes her defensive spell (with the bit of time bought, if nothing else) and begins to focus a spell on her staff. The first trick to beating a melee fighter is to make him want to avoid melee. This spell should cause anyone struck with the staff to seize up for a moment: very bad when you are flying with wings.

The defensive spell is supposed to put a barrier around her, weakening any damage.

He lands silently down and goes inside Shed 5 where he last knew where the oracle and that damned Likhet were.
Elders how he hated Likhet! All that...gusto and...femaleness!
It's hard being the only male!
He silently examines that neither of them are still in Shed 5, so he begins a quiet examination into Shed 7.
There he sees them! He slinks towards them, putting on his best smile.
"Hey guys!"

As the blow of his sword is deflected by the barrier, Harnel is struck. Something that may surprise Kate however, is the fact that Harnel seems to shrug the effect off. Not to say it doesn't have an effect though, as he backs off enough for her to see he's avoiding her staff. That said, she should notice something about the way he focuses on her. There's a kind of uncanny focus in his eyes. perhaps the reason for Kate's spell not working?

Harnel flaps to the side, holding out his sword in front of him, between himself and Kate. He appears to be waiting to see what she does.

Focus...

She begins to cast a spell... and odd spell. And it takes a bit to cast. She seems to be open.

If Harnel heads toward her, she will breathe fire on him. A wide cone, it's not supposed to hurt him.

It's supposed to make him lose track of her for a second. A second for her to finish the spell.

Surprsingly enough, breathing fire is the same thing Harnel intended to do. In fact, he does it now; He knows it won't hurt her. But that doesn't mean it's pointless.

As Harnel breathes fire, Kate may suddenly find a large red sword flying at her. Evidently, he threw it, and not with a small amount of force. Harnel, for his part, has moved to the side once more, gauging her reaction to his attack.

Kirk makes his knife appear in his hand and stabs Wenomir in the throat.

When Wenomir boosts him up, Kirk grabs the gem. He tugs hard just as his full weight is put on the chain. Hopefully that'll get it down.

Kate VS Harnel

Her reaction seems to be to doge the fire, which is kind of silly since she's immune to it now. The sword is more of a scare, and she drops her spell as it bounds off of her barrier.

Ookay, new plan.

She casts an illusion spell, of a magic floating orb. Pulsating. Oh, and it seems to be gathering energy. It's just an illusion, but it looks like she's charging an attack.

She is instead trying to cast that spell again. See if this works at all...

I was beginning to worry. Likhet got us some food.

Klenkh, the scout, folds his wings up against his chest into a neutral position. He was still wearing the coat he was given.
"I have the results from the my scouting if you would like to hear them."
He will, however, neglect to mention that he is extremely hungry, especially after his flying.

Ilpholin maintains her defensive position during this. Cessie probably already figured out Ilpholin's talking to Libra, given her lack of reply. No doubt it looks kind of funny. Head talking always does.

"Right. I suppose they could. Say... how many brothers and sisters does Harnel have?"

Klenkh, the scout, folds his wings up against his chest into a neutral position. He was still wearing the coat he was given.
"I have the results from the my scouting if you would like to hear them."

Harnel looks briefly towards the eye, but then discards it as pointless. There was no real casting time to it as her last spell was interrupted, meaning it's a simpler spell. Less substance. Probably fake, a scare tactic to get him to focus on something else while she preps another spell.

Harnel, with a powerful flap of his wings, surges forward. Kate may find the red half-dragon very close to her in a very short amount of time, with his fist coming towards her stomach in an attempt to wind her. Harnel's magic resistance, if the barrier isn't quite strong, will likely allow the blow to connect.

Kirk manages to get a hold of the gem... but it isn't falling down, not at once at the very least. The chain seems extremely tense however, close to cracking. It probably just need a little more if he can hold on for that long.

Edijar is unable to hear Libra, unable to hear psychic messages, and floats down to Charity, offering an apologetic smile. "I'm sorry Charity, I didn't expect this to happen. It's a long story..." He starts before explaining as the others fight.

Klenkh, the sickly looking male with wings instead of arms and unusually neat hair, except for being dirty all over along with a scratch on his right leg, nods.
"The rest of the complex is badly damaged, though I did look through the big building more. I tripped and fell onto this though."
He rummaged through the coat's pocket with the very tips of his wing's feathers and manages to pull out a dirty steak knife that was once a part of a emergency kit with eating utensils. It had managed to survive without too much damage.
He then showed off the scratch on his leg.
"Luckily I didn't get too much damage..."
He still hasn't talked about what he has found near the base.

Charity shakes her head to interrupt him before he gets very far into it. "I really don't want to know, do I? Libra says if your 'team' doesn't win, she'll fight Harnel to the death. So I should surrender, right?" Got to check with someone she trusts before she does something potentially stupid.

The wings don't have feathers; they're like bat wings, flaps of skin strung between elongated fingerbones. As such, see this diagram? Where the thumb-claw is on that, a Harpy Gaunt has two fingers and a thumb.

Anyway, Likhet makes the signature Griever sound of disapproval---a low roll of clicks at the back of the throat---as she peers at the gash.
I'll have to take a look at that.

Charity has no idea what the sad look is for. It's not like "surrendering" in any sort of combat means anything to her. She's a pacifist. It's about as significant as a teetotaller "losing" a drinking contest. Now if it had been a drinking contest, her pride might have been hurt if she'd been required to surrender. "Be careful. I surrender."

When he was complimented by the Oracle he smiled.

He offered the knife to Arie.
