Famous Avatars?
Well yeh, the title says most of it.
Do you think there are any famous avatars on this board? or any avatars that stand out and stick in your head?
for me Mordokai's avatars have always stood out, especially for comedic value.
And also most of Ego Slayer's avatars just cause they are so amazingly detailed.Avatar by JenZeeSigatar by Me

Re: Famous Avatars?
Woooo, mentioned in the second post!
Mordokai's definitely, and I'm da Rogue's, and Vorpal Tribble's, and Wampa's, and Roland's, and Prince of Cats', and Goff's, annnnnd... That's all I've got so far. They're the people I immediately see the avi (or something similar) and think of them, or see their name (or something similar) and think of the avi.The Iron Avatarist Hall of Fame!

Re: Famous Avatars?
Back in the day Sneak had an awesome avatar that I came to know him by. Like a featureless shadow with an question mark on its face. I've always thought it had character.

Re: Famous Avatars?
I always know when dragonprime is posting. I haven't seen Amotis in a while, but I used to recognize his avatar. I always recognize Jae's, and Mauve Shirt's because usually it's exactly what it says on the tin. And Phase, because it's pretty much always that moon guy. And Cobra, because it's a cobra. A lovable, huggy cobra. Fax changes his, but I always keep a lookout for his stuff, so.
And of course, Roland. 'Cause those six-shooters are scary.Spoiler"Clothes make the man. Naked people have little or no influence on society."

Re: Famous Avatars?
Mordokai, Roland, EE's (Back when he hung out here), Setra's, (Same as EE's), Serpentine's, Oregano's (I'm not sure why, it just seems really random), Trog, Vorpal Tribble, David Argall's, Ghastly Epigram's, and Zarah's.
Oh, and the Giant's.

Re: Famous Avatars?
I'd say Syka and Exachix's avatars due to how cute they are, but I tend to think half-animal avatars stand out as well.

Re: Famous Avatars?
Oh yeah, of course, Phase and Amotis. I won't mention any of the ones I've done, cuz that seems a bit... of a given.
Also, 6/13 posts (not including my own) mention my avatar, and including those there's a total of 13 mentions of avatars done by me Didn't realise that cobra was so... prominent... Makes me wish even more that Cobra would put in the new version.Last edited by Serpentine; 2009-02-22 at 10:33 AM.

Re: Famous Avatars?
Actually, in most cases it's the person behind the avatar that spikes the memorableness.
Serpentine is the exception to that rule, like she is most.

Re: Famous Avatars?
I just realised nobody's mentioned Atreyu's avatars yet. Those are also instantly recognisable in addition to being quite diverse.

Re: Famous Avatars?
Heh, you have to admit Cobra Ikari's is unique--in my view, mostly because I can't figure out what the heck it's meant to symbolize OR represent. Sure, it is probably meant to be a snake, but I just can't see it! onasuma, very fine job on the gender-bent version, by the way. I expected a cheap cut & paste of feminine accessories upon it. You delivered much more.
Several already-mentioned avatar series with a constant character stick in my mind*, as do the puns upon some names in picture form (Djinn_in_Tonic, I am looking at you). I noticed Chunklets and Bisected8 for the text in their avatars, Latin lessons and linguamancy respectively. Bluelantern also--I can't forget Bluelantern's House of Horrors special--no matter how much I may want to--and Ink's as well, though I don't want to forget that at all!
*count it, Serpentine!Last edited by Quincunx; 2009-02-22 at 10:46 AM.

Re: Famous Avatars?
^ Really? Aw. It's simple, but I didn't think it was that abstract... Also: Whooo! Also also: Of course, Djinn and Dr Bath! And also Wadledo, who I forgot to put in below. And your own, of course! Very different.
You calling me - me me - forgettable?
Atreyu, of course! Also Midnight Son.Last edited by Serpentine; 2009-02-22 at 10:49 AM.
