Re: Playground Squares XII: Where the fun never ends. EVER!
Money? No, no, no. This has nothing to do with money. This is all about the Evil Dead series. Or more accurately, the lead actor of that great (first three only) set of films.
Bruce Campbell played Ash Williams in the Evil Dead trilogy, but more recently has been seen on the successful teevee series Burn Notice as Sam Axe, ex-Navy Seal.
But he was on teevee waaaaaaay before that. In the `80s, What prime-time soap opera did Bruce guest star as Joel Bensen?

Re: Playground Squares XII: Where the fun never ends. EVER!
Hrm... now, the real difficult choice here is for you to determine whether or not I would lie to you despite you normally thinking that I lie, or whether I'd tell you the truth in an attempt to double-bluff (or is it triple-bluff?) you. Of course, statistically speaking from the amount of things I could mention, the chance of the actual answer being given is negligible, but those statistics are meaningless if I know the correct answer. I think the most important bit of this is, would you place the poison in the goblet next to yourself, or in the one next to me... oh, look, what's that?
Hrm? Oh, as I was saying... I think we each drink from the one in front of ourselves. What say you?

I wouldn't mind a drink but someone stole my cookie to go down with this. Besides, I still need a few years to build up my immunity.
Since I know I can't trust Amidus, it's pretty easy to just disagree even though I have no idea what the answer is

Of course. I'll try to remember to PM you when the next round becomes available.
Ding! Ding! Ding! Fleeing Coward was correct to disagree. The correct answer was Knots Landing. I wonder if any of you even know of that show.
It is ThePhantom's choice.

Re: Playground Squares XII: Where the fun never ends. EVER!
Woah! Woah! Woah! Calm down HiT, we're not gonna talk about that Mass Effect.
So, in 1995 Bioware wqas busy with their newest game, Jade Empire. So they handed off the reigns of Knights of the Old Republic to someone they trusted; Obsidian Entertainment.
There are plenty of mixed feelings about how well the game turned out. Glitches and a badly cut ending took away from all the improvements they'd made over the first game.
Of the original cast of characters, only one non-droid makes a return, and joins the second band of heroes/villains. What is Mandalore's name in Knights of the Old Republic I?

Re: Playground Squares XII: Where the fun never ends. EVER!
Mangosta, perhaps you remember this one.
An Easter Egg, as it concerns video games, is an intentionally hidden message, inside joke, or feature hidden somewhere in the game. The very first Easter Egg was added to a game that would influence future games of its genre for years to come.
What is the name of this Atari 2600 video game?

Re: Playground Squares XII: Where the fun never ends. EVER!
Sheesh, can't a guy eat a pair of cookies in peace?
Anyway, I remember well when the Atari 2600 came out. The fact that I hadn't been born yet is a matter of no importance. It was a night in October. A Tuesday if memory serves.
Don't let the fact that this is a trick question throw you off, seeing as how the very first Easter egg in a video game was on a different system, and our host is in fact referring to the first widely known chicken-spawning device of the celebration of the vernal equinox. The game in question is Alfred Hitchcock's Adventure. As with all of his titles, Hitchcock himself appears in a brief cameo as the dragon.

Re: Playground Squares XII: Where the fun never ends. EVER!
I don't believe in this so called other system you are talking about, in which in 2004 an older game was supposedly discovered to have an Easter Egg that predates the Adventure one. Which of course means...

Re: Playground Squares XII: Where the fun never ends. EVER!
Well, since you are so ready to answer. It's not an Umbrella, it's a Parasol!
In Soulless, the first book of the Parasol Protectorate series, we meet Alexia Tarabotti. She is of British and Italian descent, living in London, England during the Victorian age, and she's Soulless. A Soulless human is someone who steals the soul from Vampires and Werewolves, taking away their supernatural ability and making them just base humans, and therefore easier to kill.
First published in 2009, who was the writer of this series of Steampunk Paranormal Romances?

Re: Playground Squares XII: Where the fun never ends. EVER!
Hmmm... Vampires. While I feel like the answer to this should come easily, I am having trouble remembering...
Well, the main character is of Italian and English descent, and as we all know, Italy is in the South of Europe. Therefor the author is Italian.
However! I know that Bram Stoker, an Englishman, wrote Dracula. Therefore, the author is British.
However however, we also know that the Italians live in the sun, AND the sun hurts vampires. A vampire wouldn't write a book they were killed in. Therefor, the writer is Italian.
However however However, Italy and England are not the only countries that vampires live in, therefore the author can be of any ethnicity.
So, I do believe that it is Gail something or other.
Can not remember her last name.
EDIT: Just remembered, last name Calliger. Gaile Calliger
(Gaile with an E, last post was wrong name )Last edited by Sabeki; 2013-09-05 at 06:48 PM.

I have read all of that series, through I don't fully remember the name of the author. However, I will disagree in this case.
