I just read about Judy Garland on Wikipedia:

"To keep up with the frantic pace of making one film after another, Garland, Rooney, and other young performers were constantly given amphetamines as well as barbiturates to take before going to bed. For Garland, this regular dose of drugs led to addiction and a lifelong struggle and contributed to her eventual demise."

    Thanks a lot, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer!

Well, that will certainly be the reaction of JoJo's "allies"... are the ones on the other side of the barricade, that should be wary about such a display of sudden change of attitude.

The oldest person whose age we know of in erfworld is a little more than a thousand turns old, and a turn lasts a day. So... 3 or 4 years old.

Nobody in Erfworld is 'ancient'. Even the long-lived die long before they could be considered 'ancient' for our world.

Actually, after digging out my print copy of "It's Raining Men", it seems that so far the oldest living Erfworld unit is Roger Victor Clarence (the one who looks like US Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas) of the Great Minds that Think Alike at a lofty age of 28,800 turns and Level 10. If a turn is considered to be equal to a day's time, that'd put him at around 78 years old. Obviously, there could be someone else in the story that is older, but their age has yet to be mentioned.

As far as the story as shown us, physical age has little to do with chronological age in this world anyway.

My point is that adult humans don't have memories (only fragments) of their very first years, while erfworld units don't have any childhood, so if we convert turn in days and in "years equivalent", those are "fully" years.

Well, they barely even sleep, if they even do. He somehow interpreted you talking about Signamancy (you can get a grey beard at your first turn, if you wanted/popped that way) as "Erfworlders dont have foggy childhood memories/lack of memory of birth". I think.

Also, in the summer text updates, Ansom says something that makes absolutely no sense in any case but makes even LESS sense if sleep doesn't exist.

Namely, that using the Dwagon relay system means he won't sleep much.

I expect you're making a joke, but there has been no indication that they're not, and while I'm not going to search for them all there have actually been a number of references to units sleeping; Jillian has mentioned a couple times that she prefers sleeping in the field for example. And just recently there this was this from Inner Peace 38 in Diecast before Jillian's capture:

“It’s a disbanded shame we can’t sleep here tonight. I’d like to use it a few more times.”

In the morning, not one in the company awakened.

Back in Book 1, Parson tells Bogroll to go to his room and sleep for him, and Bogroll has no problem understanding him. Not to mention we see Wanda sleeping.

We don't see units sleeping more often for the same reason we don't see them eating or popping very often although we know they do both - it's not interesting and does not add anything to the story.

Clearly, I explained myself very poorly. I apologize, let's see if I can arrange something better.
HandsofShadows was wandering about "how old were Erfworld's characters".
You answered that "The oldest person whose age we know of we know of in erfworld is a little more than a thousand turns old, and a turn lasts a day. So... 3 or 4 years old".

Erfworlds unit pop already adult. They don't know what a child is.

In our world, a 15 years old guy is a teenager that doesn't even remember well his childhood... in Erfworld, you have an adult with 15 years of experience in a field of competence. Since their first day of existence, they are "fully" operative, so my point is that we cannot compare erfworld's turns to our world's years.
    Do I contradict myself?
Very well then I contradict myself. I am large, I contain multitudes. (W.Whitman)
