Carolyn grinned and slid forward on her back, wrapping her arms around the scorpion girl's waist for a "better grip."

Carolyn set her chin on the other girl's shoulder, relaxing.

Antera grins. "Well, where should we go from here?" She pats her cheek.

Carolyn shrugs, holding on tight.
I dunno, anywhere together is nice...

Hmm, well... there's a city fairly close by; we could get to it by tomorrow.
For tonight, I think I know somewhere to go. Old friend of mine lived there.
She seems about to say another thing, but hesitates.

She points to a slightly odd rise in the plains. "There it is."

Lairan Dragon Caves

Pyrus whimpers. He did not want to be alone with this dragon. But he didn't want Kestrel to get in trouble for him either. Kestrel...I can talk to him for a minute...Then I'll come back. Ok?He doesn't leave her embrace though.

She does not look happy about that. At all.

But she does not argue. He wouldn't hurt her human, not unless he truly wanted to alienate her...

Or so she hopes.

Really, really hopes!

"Yell if you need me." Reluctantly, she releases him and leaves the cavern quietly, a low growl rumbling in her throat and echoing back through the tunnels.

Draaxar watches her go, then folds his paws and lays down in a manner vaguely similar to a cat's almost regal repose. He watches Pyrus and waits for him to say something in his defense.

Carolyn shivers, her childhood fears of the darkness coming to life in her mind. She held tighter to her friend, her protector.
A-is it safe?

[Old Lair]
She nods and pats her back, eventually flipping a switch.
They're in a large-ish room with a worn couch in one corner and an outdated kitchenette in another.
Antera closes the door. "This was some sort of old station thing, according to my friend."

[Quinsar]

She nods and goggles, looking around.
It looks very homely! I like it!

[Beans]

"Wanna help me get dinner ready?"
She grins.

Um... You know that I suck at cooking...

"... You could cut the jerky for me while I get the water on?"
She shrugs.

Carolyn nods and does as told. She seems so happy, humming a happy, childish tune to work to.

Soon they have a sort of stew of jerky and other dried stuff. It smells great as Antera serves it out.

She grins and begins to do in, loving the stew.

Antera finishes soon, grinning. "Good?"

So, uh, anything you want to do before we sleep?

Pyrus sighs. He watches her go sadly. He didn't like her leaving him. But he didn't want her to be punished. He looks up at Draxxar slowly. He's afraid. He already missed Kestrel's arms and soft skin. What do you want? I did nothing to you. Or Krstrel.

She grins.

So, uh, anything you want to do before we sleep?

She giggles and takes a seat on the bed.

The bed is the couch in this instance.
Antera reverts to full-human form and sits next to her, getting a blanket from their stuff.
Guess we'd best go to sleep then.
She goes to put an arm around her.

Carolyn slowly nods, leaning into her friend and yawning. She was tired, it had been a long week and it was obviously weighing down hard on her. She struggled to keep her eyes open.

She undresses to her undies, and lays down with Carolyn; she pulls the blanket over them.
Aw, 's no problem.
She kisses her forehead.
'M really sorry, y'know... about what happened to... her and all...

[Quinsar]

Caroly frowns, shrinking a bit next to the other girl and burying her face in her shoulder.
S'okay... You didn't kill her...

[Beans]

[Lair]
I know...
Sleep tight, sweetie.
She falls asleep, holding her gently.

[Quinsar]

Carolyn sleeps as well, sniffling.

Later, Antera yawns awake.

Carolyn's face is snuggled into the center of her chest.
