So the most fun I've had in Vegas so far is when I sat in a casino and debated the nuances of Harry Potter fanfiction over Facebook. Definitely not the kind of place for me.

I went to Vegas twice in my life... Both of them so that I could play video-games I already play when I'm home, on the other side of the country (or world, depending on the year I went).

Turns out that entering a tournament I have absolutely no hope of even making the top 100 just to be fiercely beat by super-pro players in half a second is actually quite fun! I'd never have guessed it based on the all the times I got fiercely beat by normal players in 30 seconds.

I heard you can gamble too... But I never did it. Well... Once I was tempted to bet on a match, but luckily, I didn't. The player I was going to pick ended up suffering two perfects... And that's why I save my dice rolls for RPGs.

Making my way home from Vegas and I have a final verdict: can be nice, but not a place for me. I saw some shows, Criss Angel, Tournament of Kings and Cirque du Soleil's Michael Jackson so we're all fun in their own way, but the rest of the time here was kind of a drag.

Walking up and down Fremont Street or the Strip was boring with a couple exceptions. I saw a few magic performers which were the highlights of those walking "adventures", most of the other performers we're just tacky, or doing it because they were paid to. Like all of the "get a picture with *insert sexy stereotype* semi-nude girls"; mostly just stood around waiting for someone to come get their picture taken. Very few of the performers we're having any fun with the performance, it was those ones I enjoyed the most. Like a big bearded man dancing in a blue dress and what looked like the end of a mop for a wig. He was having a blast, and his enjoyment was entertaining to watch on ways that seeing some guy dressed up as Santa with a sign that says, "Hey, **** you!" Then wanting $10 per picture with "bad" Santa wasn't.

Going off to see the Grand Canyon in a helicopter was pretty awesome though.

If I ever come back to Vegas, I'd probably do my best to avoid as much of the casinos as I can, along with most of the "classic" attractions of Vegas. Kind of hard to enjoy a city known for it's drinking, gambling and sex when you don't drink, gamble, or have casual sex.

The trick in all things is to make your own fun. That man with the dress and mop, you must form a performing troupe with them. You could get tights and a rake.

Oh hey, you can now have potions of a see invisibility equivalent. They specifically made a lesser but potionable version of see invis, stoneskin, Identify, Dimension Door and Detect Undead.

Does anyone here use Webtoons? I've binged on unOrdinary, The Gamer, and DICE so while enjoying a few others (like Oh Holy) and monitoring some that I might drop (like Hardcore Leveling Gamer).

If you do, which toons do you read? Which are your favorites?

If you never seen Cirque's KA or O, or Le Reve, go. Seriously. They are great shows.

Penn & Teller are very good as well.

I've been there probably 10 times, mostly with my family, and I don't drink or gamble. Just to see the shows.

So happy I backed the NekoPara OVA. Now I just need the physical goods to ship.
Players are like water. They go everywhere.
So you need to cut the channels that direct them where you want them to go.
If they try to skip the channel, let them. Cut another one ahead of them.
Eventually, they'll take the channel. They'll even think it was entirely their own idea.

But did you pay 10 grand to have your character animated for 1 second?

They actually got animated for longer than that, but it was pretty much a glorified cameo for the most part. And no, I didn't spend the money on that. Just the physical set.

No, it's not the first time, but Ash doesn't usually stay silent this long. What I'm worried about, right now, is that Ash started hormone therapy and it might not have gone as well as it should have and caused some unforseen medical problems.

Kind of the same. A few years ago I'd still be a Paizo customer, but after that whole forum nonsense with Ash...

Besides, I hardly get to play now anyway. The only game I'm currently in is one I'm running for some 13 year old cousins who wanted to play. Any time kids want to get into the game, I'll do my best to make it happen. Definitely the game with telge most crazy shenanigans I've ever been in so far. Also, full of memes.

For example the party votes to name themselves the *Dab Brogade and one of them mocked up a logo with the party name over a silhouette of someone dabbing and they all use a dab as a finishing move.

*Dab as in the dance move. Apparently dab can also mean something to do with smoking pot, or something like that.

Shenanigans aside, if I were to play P2E, it's have to be from an SRD or something.

Can't say I'm excited but I'll give it a test anyways. We've awhile before it starts the playtest so I'm jsut waiting. Figure it'll be something to learn from.

I'm a little annoyed they keep mentioning how Starfinder uses a bastardized version of these rules though and I'm like what. So Pathfinder 2e get's the "good versions." And Starfinder gets the half baked unrefined ones? Why didn't you just finish pathfinder 2e's rules first? Bluh.

It explains why the development team was so small. I remember when it was announced there were only like 5 names attached to it. I'm guessing Starfinder was basically a paid Alpha playtest that they were able to use to squeeze some sci-fi content out of.

Considering their FAQ policy is basically a long con to sell the latest books, I can't say I'm surprised.

Paizo's existence is predicated on copying Wizards of the Coast's business choices from 2000-2008. When Starfinder was announced people rightly predicted that this was Paizo's Star Wars SAGA Edition- which floated a bunch of half-baked mechanics from 4e as a test balloon. That they're actually planning to sell hard copies of the playtest materials for PF2 is a new level of audacity, though.

They're not requiring you to pay for the playtest. All the materials are planned to be available in free PDFs, unless they've changed their minds and not announced it. They're just also selling hard copies of the playtest book at the full price of a CRB.

Oh no, I know that. I'm just saying I'm not paying for a hard copy of a playtest. No way, no how.

I am however enjoying somewhat watching the general fragmentation of the base over the previews. Particularly the proficiency one.

Well you've a year to use it still, and 2nd ed may not be to your tastes anyhow, so it's not like it's useless. I mean hell, there's people who still play 1st edition and that's the oldest one can go in dnd without throwing together Chainmail.
