Edit: On this specific matter, I wonder if it's right to even post the title of some film, 'specially when they're clearly not PG13. 'cause I've got some title (good for the "Disturbing Messed Up Films"), but they're for a mature audience, so maybe it's better to follow the rule "in doubt, don't post".

Most horror movies used to be an R back in the 80's, but studios realized giving a film an R kills its moneymaking ability because people have a stick up their behind about teens watching R horror films now. So they crank out PG13 for the theater, and release it unrated on video so they can max out their money.

The Mod They Call Me:Two things to address here:

1) It is a misconception that this board is PG-13. That rating is sometimes used as a rough guideline or example for the level of sexuality/violence that it's acceptable to post, but it is just a guideline. Nowhere do the forum rules reference PG-13 ratings, so, as ever, posters should use their best judgment and either not post something they're unsure about or ask a mod. If something that breaks the rules is in a PG-13 movie, it still breaks the rules.

2) Posting the titles of, trailers to, or even discussion of works that have board-inappropriate content is fine so long as the title, trailer or discussion itself doesn't have board-inappropriate content, and otherwise does not break the forum rules.

Cannibal Holocaust was made to look like a snuff film (the director even got arrested because a lot of people thought it was), so it should probably go in the messed up category.

Oh, if you want a disturbing film, may I suggest When The Wind Blows. It's very difficult to find these days but its done by Raymond Biggs - the chap who did the Snowman animation.
