Hey y'all. Sorry about being so super late with this post. We've been busy with some other things, and left this for really late. We'll try to make another post mid-week or something.

On my end are the Topiary Guardians, sculpted shrubbery powered by the soul of a trapped Earth Elemental. On the other side, my partner is crime hass something a lot more mechanical and abstractalicious, the Velahkut, construct sentinel for the gods.

Yes, we're currently trying to make our livelihood as animators/illustrators. My partner is currently working on a biographical comic about St George. I've been working multiple animation freelance jobs. Currently I'm doing some animation and painting for a studio in London.

Also, thanks for the compliment on the deer. I used a slightly different style of coloring, which I've been using at this studio.

I think I was going somewhere with my question, but I forget. So I shall deviate: you (singular or plural) should write a nice geeky, D&D-basedish kids' picture book. I reckon you'd sell a few dozen, at least, in the Playground alone.

We're probably gonna try something like that at some point. One of our main goals is to get the guys from Wizards of the Coast to notice our art and make us king and queen of D&D.

Howdy howdy y'all. We're still scrambling to get back on track with this, since we're still one set of images short. Anyway, here's what our most recent work is: the Battlebriar, a gigantic beast of thorns that skewers anything that comes near it, and the Kappa, brought to you by Oriental Adventures.

Howdy y'all. I finally got around to doing one of my favourite monsters in D&D, the Displacer Beast. I always have a soft spot for feline monsters. I was kinda disappointed to find how little artwork for this creature actually uses its signature ability, so I tried my best to do it. Turns out it's pretty hard. Displacer beasts are already weird enough without the displacement thrown in the mix. The other creature for the week is the Kraken, looking very adorable until you realize how dang big it is.

Nice job, you really managed to make the displacer beast look like a proper creature rather than a panther stuck to a squid. S'awesome. I love the solid quality all your art seems to have, and you've got a fantastic understanding of colour.

Started following the blog, and I shall be sure to leave some comments throughout when I get chance! Hope to see you keep doing these. :)

The displacer beast looks hyperactive, as if it was shaking its head constantly. That's somewhat cartoony, but the overall effect is still weird and somewhat creepy, so all's good.

The kraken looks like an illustration to a really oldschool video game. Kinda too simple for my tastes, especially in comparison to the other pics you two made, and I don't like the color palette. But it is cute.

Sometimes my partner gets taken by a desire to do something in that pixelly style, and I find it a really sweet style, though personally I'm not fond of the colors he chose for this particular image. Other stuff he's done using that particular style have a really nice Earthboundy kind of feel.

You can never have enough dragons! Especially the more obscure ones - Ragedrake would be pretty cool, for example, or the Lyndworms. Or the sea serpents (though I think they're just from Dragon magazines) - including a deep-sea one that looks like an anglerfish. Or the Hellfire Wyrm, or... you get the idea.
Yuan-ti and naga's'd be cool, too (though I think you've done a naga?).

Yeah, we've done a naga before, but there's like five other kinds of naga we could also do.

We haven't done any dragons at all yet, but we're planning on doing a whole bunch of them when we hit our 1-year anniversary or our 100th post. Not quite sure which yet. I'm looking forward to redesigning some of them -- I already have some ideas for the Green Dragon.
