all i have to say is good luck, folks. i don't have any better idea than any of you do who the wolves are, and last day cycle my attempt to save myself got another villager lynched. this will make three villagers dead in the first two days and a night, and tonight the wolves will either have another of us down, or be better organized.

none taken. I have no idea who to vote for either. I just voted VR out of petty revenge and because he was the only one close in votes. I really hope the villagers aren't hanging themselves right now, but I guess I can take comfort that no-one important is being lynched. "You are a villager -- try not to get killed" whatevs.

the day really seems to be dragging on...

Grag emerged from his hut and took down the pheasant which had spent part of the day aging. The meat wasn't properly seasoned yet, but having the stew tomorrow didn't seem to be an option.

Forty minutes later, the sun close to the horizon, Grag went outside to meet the angry mob with a large pot in his arm and a stack of bowls.

"Stew, anyone?"

Samuel walked up to the door, knocked on the knocker, put down the box and left.

The box was plain and simple, with no lock. It contained a full set of 56 monocles, one of each strength, each wrapped in cloth.

Apologies for the lateness of this report, sir, I was under the mistaken impression the corporal had acquainted you with the events here reported, sir.
Some of the assembled citizenry didn’t seem to have the stomach for the tough fight we’re facing. And some seem to have gone totally fruit-loops, if you’ll pardon the vernacular. Crazy. Bonkers. Absolutely goat-fish insane. I saw one young lady passing around weaponised pies. Not to mention the man who thinks he’s a vampire and the one with the weird voice and the cake obsession (Says he’s an AI, whatever that means, and keeps going on about cake and enrichment – I don’t know if this means anything to you, sir, but I count myself fortunate if I understand every other word he says).
While these antics provided a certain level of diversion, the target for today’s lynch was obvious – the scholar. How he escaped it yesterday was anyone’s guess, but there was no questioning the level of suspicion gathered around him. Besides which, how else would he know so much about these werewolves if he wasn’t one of them, eh? Damned by his own word, tarred by his own brush, and whatnot.
So, we strung him up, sir, and he’s dead now. Cleanly broken neck. Still looks human so far, sir, damned cunning of him, so we were hoping the surgeon could take a look, find the proof of his wolf side, and maybe that could give us some other means of finding the others as well! To that end, we have also seized his papers (Attached), in the hope that they will somehow give away his compatriot wolves.
Otherwise, no problems to speak of, sir.

While the most prominent common theme in these native myths is that of the man possessed by evil spirits, who transforms into a wolf by night and seeks to kill his former companions, a more detailed investigation reveals that these spirits are not believed to be the prime cause of the problem. Rather, they are created, and pressed into the unfortunate men, by another external force. To the best of my understanding, this external force is attributed to some sort of trickster deity, akin in many respects to Anansi or Loki, who brings about this scenario, with the true humans pitted against the werewolves, for his (Or her) own amusement. To this mysterious trickster, the life and death situations in which we mortals find ourselves are nothing more than a game. As a result, the Trickster (I have yet to hear of another name for it) is regarded by these native tribes as the great adversary of man, and pray for a day when the world may be free of his tyrannical whimsy.
In addition to causing the lycanthropy, the unnamed Trickster is said to somehow ‘infect’ the populace with the desire to play his/her game. Some form of psychic suggestion is, I believe, the implication, laying down certain rules and restrictions, to drag out the game and provide more amusement. Note that while the Trickster is supposedly the cause of this deathly game, he or she has no further hand in it, content to merely observe. Though I have come across some oblique references to occasions when he/she/it has chos
