Averagejoe, you may also want to search for the term "Chief Outrage", as that's what he was called at first.

So, like everyone else that dies, Jacob is only mostly dead. As is the Chief's son. Rendering that touching sacrifice to mean nothing at all.
Doesn't Mookie wait a few comics before he does that?

This is the guy who brought us "You guys are going to be just fine" ( link).
I don't think so.

Well, I do find it hilarious how shamelessly it's done.
There's not even any kind of explanation given. They're just not really dead.

I'll have to add though, that's one of the few DD pages I actually found kinda funny.

I agree with Neo, I liked that twist. Especially how it forced Stunt to live with everyone knowing he's a big ol' softie on the inside.

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, MK XVIII - At the Mountains of Madness
Y'know, there was this one webcomic called "minus" who had a main character that was essentially God.
Someone walked up to her and wished for everyone and everything ever to be brought back from the dead.
So she did.
Everyone died due to being crushed by the suddenly appearing fantastillions of people/animals filling up the entire earth. They stayed dead after that.
In light of this my hopes for this arc have risen.
The same webcomic also brought us this.

Don't get your hopes up. If Mookie does do the "bring everyone back to life" bit, it'll be more like what Kishimoto pulled in Naruto, where everyone comes back and negates every single interesting thing about the previous arc.

That's what I would have expected, earlier in the arc. The unknown element is exactly what the Bikta Chief can do, since we haven't seen him do anything save magically trap women. One of the biggest flaws in this arc is that we haven't actually seen the antagonists do that much, so we've got no idea of their threat level.
When it looked like it was going to be Stonewater's rag-tag bunch plus the Rhazgala versus the Bikta, I thought the Bikta Chief would be roughly on par with regular Luna on spellcasting ability; that seemed about balanced, and would be plausible from what I've seen the Bikta do. Once the Doma got involved, the Bikta Chief needed to be stupidly powerful to present a even match-up. And now the Shintula are added in, he's got to be a match for the rest of Maltak combined. And yet... somehow the Bikta have one piddly little village instead of ruling Maltak or the rest of the world.
However now the arc is nearing the end, I've got a feeling the battle will be rushed. I'm giving fair odds it will be over in two weeks or less. It's a minuscule amount of time for a full scale battle, but I don't think the arc pacing will allow it to dwell on any one plot point for that long.
My guess is that a battle might square up, but it will quickly go into talking heads between the named characters leading to a duel between the Bikta Spirit Father. My gut feeling is relatively quick one-on-one duel between Bikta Chief and Outrage Chief. I'll put a side bet on Etnu finally realising Bikta Chief is evil and switching sides as a pivotal moment.

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, MK XVIII - At the Mountains of Madness
My current prediction would be that Adrak Bulgak, brother of Bulgak Adrak, will play some important role in the battle.
First, it's been mentioned right before he died (But not really!) that he's stronger than he looks.
Second, he's apparently part of the Dominus' plan.
Third, he's a good guy, so he simply can't stay that ugly forever. Which leads me to believe he'll get rid of his accumulated afflictions and receive some magical power-up, possibly simply as a direct result. Considering what he did to himself all these years and where he is right now, this actually could make some sense, unless Mookie really screws it up. (I have faith in him.)

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, MK XVIII - At the Mountains of Madness
You have faith in Mookie? Maybe it's because until the first truly bad arc (Snowsong, as opposed to flawed ones like the Battle for Barthis or Ecstasy and Evil), I genuinely liked this comic, but, I really think he has taken a left turn into crapville and gotten stuck.

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, MK XVIII - At the Mountains of Madness
Outrage Chief earned his name by virtue of this inexplicably hilarious panel and the fact that his canon name had not yet been given.
Later, when it was revealed to be Theun Gar, it was universally acclaimed that "Outrage Chief" was a far better name
In re: Friday
Really? Everyone's just going to come back from the dead?
Nah, too easy. Adrak is going to super-die in order to bring Jacob back from the "dead" - because there aren't currently enough Deegans in the fight to take out The Bad Guys. Later, Dominic & Jacob will have an awkward person-to-person interaction, at which point Jacob will say "screw you guys, I'm going home." And then he will.
Note that Jacob is going to kow-tow to Dominic before this Arc is over. Just like Celesto in the last one.

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, MK XVIII - At the Mountains of Madness
Adrak? Heaven help us if it turns out Team Everyone-Else needs further bolstering from the Legions of the Dead.
Honestly, I'd feel a lot better about this battle if I actually knew why everyone is so worried about the Bikta Chief. He's done barely anything. As far as I can tell, a single Rhazgala archer could take him down. At least in the DBZ arcs they would start by having the main villain casually destroy a city or some such thing to establish their dangerousness.

We have been told he is about as powerful as OC, meaning a singel archer would proberly only annoy him.

He could transfer his afflictionson Bikta Chief AND absorb his power.
Two birds, one stone.
EDIT: ^ Suyan said that he may be as powerful as a Shintula nakta elite.

He was prejudice against uncleaned Orcs. That's worse.
EDIT: Not to mention trapping Luna was like killing Krillin. The Crone Cave is now allowing Dominic to go Super Saiyan.
EDIT 2: Which means that this arc will be over in FIVE MINUTES.

Yeah, that's how the battle will probably go. I expect a comic or two filled with orcs striking poses that are supposed to represent the battle - lots of lines will appear - and then we'll switch to a show-down between Bikta Chief and someone else.

That's somewhat the problem, though. We were only told, but not really shown. I mean; he kinda defeated Luna, but thats not really great feat there.
Maybe if any of the orcs that were "impure" fought back, only to be curb-stomped, that would've seen at least a little better for team Bikta.
