Re: UKitP XII - On the twelfth Meetup of Christmas...
When don't I come? *eye roll* /blatant ignorance of the summer unmeetup.
But yus, barring things I should be going to Leicester with some form of cooked food. Christmas cookies perhaps? With cinnaminamon and raisins?
Or perhaps some coconut and chocolate cookies?
Sausage rolls? Spinach and cheese rolls?
Mayhap something with chicken?
But things cover many a category. Eh, if worst comes to worst I'll pass the weekend off as Networking if parents wish to enquire.

Re: UKitP XII - On the twelfth Meetup of Christmas...
Excellent - another player enmeshed in my evil plots.
re: Sorrel in Scarlet. Or possibly Scarlet in Sorrel: so that's what that facebook message was about. Put me down as tentatively interested, although really the amazon synopsis isn't very good at all. (Someone should change that)
Writing the synopsis was probably the single hardest task - I went through about six drafts, and I'm still not happy with what I've got. Advice and suggestions would be really, really appreciated! (Not sure if they belong in this thread or in the Marketing a Kindle Novel thread, but so what?).

Re: UKitP XII - On the twelfth Meetup of Christmas...
I'm pretty sure that most of the generic d6 system materials are available free (and legitimately) on t'internet, so you might be able to familiarise yourself with the system in advance.
From what I've seen, it's fairly standard -- you have attributes, skills, advantages, disadvantages, and equipment. Advantages and disadvantages work almost exactly how you might expect. The GM decides whether you want to use hit points, wound levels, or both.
Most stats are expressed as die codes -- when you test one, you roll its die code and compare the result to a target number. Every time you make a dice roll, one of the dice is rolled separately and determines whether things blow up pleasingly, in your face, or not at all.Last edited by lesser_minion; 2012-09-27 at 04:54 AM.

Re: UKitP XII - On the twelfth Meetup of Christmas...
All the important information is on your character sheet. You roll xd6, and then Lensman tells you if it was a good roll or a bad roll. Once every session you can blow a force point meaning you get 2xd6 for that one roll.
That's all I know about the mechanics of the game and it seems to work well enough for me.

Re: UKitP XII - On the twelfth Meetup of Christmas...
I'll get on it, however I am disappointed that I don't automatically appear on the Likely Victims list.
How would a lack of thermal detonators not be solved by thermal detonators?
The worst I had to deal with was a ratehr large puddle in a subway, and getting mildly soaked by the rainfall.
OK, so as previously stated, I would rather like to be in the next Star Wars session if both Curly and Grlump are, since I'd quite like to see the outcome of Koorly's plan to castrate Amasa for his treachery. Otherwise, I don't mind sitting out to let someone else have a go, since it seems quite a few have expressed interest.
Yeah, I'll be getting it in a minute.

Actually, that's pretty much all I know about the mechanics, too... And yes, it is the old West End system. I'll sort out a character sheet for you.
So that's the Succubus and Thufir for Star Wars, too. Ummm. Looking rather full - not sure there is room for anyone else. Of course, Amasa may not be in any fit shape to do much if Koorly gets him... (Remind me I ought to put a Bacta tank in the scenario somewhere).

Re: UKitP XII - On the twelfth Meetup of Christmas...
I can be graphic. I've been working it out. I have my knife, rope and a lot of medipacks to make sure he doesn't die of blood loss.
Might even blow my force point on it . . .
Huzzah! Important information in easy to find places!
Precisely.
You do realise this means Archie technically knows more about the mechanics (particularly the weapons/explosive side of things) than you?
This could be a problem.
You made me Google something about Star Wars. Points to you. It may be needed though.
Do tell.
And castrating a traitor on his last chance is critical to the scenario.
To everything then?
We could always put the explosive collar back on.Last edited by CurlyKitGirl; 2012-09-27 at 09:55 AM.

only because I found some PDFs... oh speaking of which, can i order something from home base... it's a Heavy Turbolaser Cannon and it requires a crew of 46... or a skeleton crew of 21 for bare minimum functionallity with a slowed reload time... it is a surface to space installation... can I tie it to a wookies back or something

Hey, since when is it my neck? I never betrayed you guys! (In that game)
See, this is why I want to be in this game.
I assume the official people took it away when they took it off him.
EDIT: OP updated. I kind of deleted all the stuff from last thread's info posts about what games people have and couldn't be bothered to find it again, so if you can all say what games you're bringing, that'd be great.Last edited by Thufir; 2012-09-27 at 11:58 AM.

What made you think I was going to put it on his neck? There's more than one way to collar a male after all.
Since a few pronouns got confused?
Because I'm a meanie?
You're looking at someone who bluffed an entire party into secure military bases several times. What's a little pickpocketing and burglary?
I still have Killer Rabbits, so that can be brought/passed off to someone else.

Re: UKitP XII - On the twelfth Meetup of Christmas...
Huh?
Sounds interesting. Give me a few Ithorians and I can have my own ominous choir following me to provide appropriate music for when I get slightly more diabolical than normal.
Oh? Why should you be excepted? :smallquizzical:
But where does the flavour text come from?! Besides, I have the worrying thought that just letting me loose on everyone in the game would amount to something verging on torture porn.
(Yes, I've worked out future characterisation based upon my recent bout of insanity. That betrayal by Amasa will have Consequences.)
Sausage rolls, unsausage rolls, cinnaminaminamon and raisin cookies, normal cookies, coconut and chocolate cookies (so you're not allergic to coconut then?), and maybe something liked spicy breaded chicken strips?
Maybe garlic chicken strips?
I don't know.
People can make suggestions, I can dick around in the kitchen and see what I can do?

Re: UKitP XII - On the twelfth Meetup of Christmas...
Garlic chicken - definitely.
Sausage rolls - ditto.
Coconut and chocolate - no problem. (Coconut, despite the name, is not a nut in the meaning of the term as far as my allergic reaction is concerned).
As to the other suggestion - I approve wholeheartedly. It's sinful. (Ducks hastily).

Re: UKitP XII - On the twelfth Meetup of Christmas...
Just had a quick look-see at a few garlic chicken recipes, and yeah, easy enough to do. Good thing chicken lasts three to four days isn't it?
Good to know about the coconut, I have some nut allergic friends who also can't eat coconut (okay, just two, but still) so I like making sure.
My mind's blanked out on the other suggestion, so I can't smack you over the head though. Lucky.
Oh. How about bacon sausages? If they'll last the journey.
Concerning the book: post has been made in appropriate thread.
Excellent! S'always good to know. Uni makes for odd acquaintances, so I became especially concerned about dietary requirements/restrictions/preferences after my first month or so.
Didn't even know you could get kosher sweets, but you can, and for especially orthodox Jews they're a must. So yeah.
Cake is good!
See, I have to travel hundreds of miles and many hours, so I make lots of small bite-size things that fit into boxes easily.
Then I fill an entire bag-for-life full of boxes of cookies and muffins and things.
Well, I did that for Christmas two years ago. Mostly it's just a box or two of cookies and things.
Hey! Just realised no one's been asking for muffins lately.
ALSO: Strawberries: if you do bake a cake bring a knife. EVERY SINGLE TIME someone's made a cake or just bought a cake we never had any knives to cut the cake.
Chocolate cake is always a good basic one everyone likes. Or a sponge cake.Last edited by CurlyKitGirl; 2012-09-27 at 04:38 PM.

Re: UKitP XII - On the twelfth Meetup of Christmas...
I'm beginning to fear the occasions when my moderate knowledge of Star Wars is actually useful... they tend to become very disturbing very quickly.
Anyone think that Curly's insanity might have been manufactured by Imperial Intelligence? Lusankya went in for that sort of thing sometimes as I recall...Part of YugiohITPAvatar by Smuchmuch

Re: UKitP XII - On the twelfth Meetup of Christmas...
Don't you mean Ysanne Isard aboard the Lusankya? Or that's how I'm reading the articles.
Also slightly concerned with the fact that I kind of, maybe admire Isard a bit? And slightly worried considering that little letter-thing quoted at the top of her article sounds more than a bit like it could apply to a certain Rebel Senator . . .
Eerie.
As opposed to everything else the Empire does?
Which isn't crude?

Are there still free spaces in the Star Wars game? I had great fun with the mercenary I played last time.
