So my friend just visited and told us about how she was talking with her mother about her {impossibly huge, impressive, and intimidating} dice collection, and her mother said when my friend has little children she'll really need to keep the dice packed away to avoid anyone eating something they shouldn't.

My friend replied: "Oh don't worry, I'll keep my dice safe."

To which her mother said: "Your children! I meant your children!!"

Glad she's got her priorities straight! :-D

All right guys, this is it: I'm about to go to sleep knowing that at 9:30 tomorrow morning - in approximately 11 1/2 hours - I will be taking my driving test. The driving part. IF I can pass that, I will then attempt the written test; and heaven help me, I'd better not fail that. The culmination of a year of Dragonrider's car-ma drama coming to a head.

    *crosses fingers*

    ....I'd better get a good night's sleep....

And get up early tomorrow to read the booklet one last time before I go in for the test.

Aside from the whole superexceeding the speed limit, I would have to say I've seen some people drive better within racing games than they do with real cars.

Yes, but there are those who are the total opposite, and can drive but in racing games they hit just about every obstacle they see. Or don't see.

Wow. That's exactly what I'm like... I'm horrible at games like Grand Theft Auto and such, no matter how good I am at beating people to a bloody pulp in the streets (in the game, obiously, not in real life, though I have yet to try it there and might thus be equally good at it...), I just keep botching up the river missions... But in real life, I'm only a month away from my driver's license, and my driving is splendid, even if I do say so myself. I only hit two pedestrians last week! (Not counting that dog...).

Yep, I'm a pretty good driver in real life. But if you put me in a simulator, pray that you don't end up as one of the pedestrians!

I passed my driving test hung-over! But seriously, good luck for your test, but remember, you're not a failiure if you don't pass first time. It took me an embarrasingly large amount of tests to pass mine, but I like to think I'm a pretty good driver now, so even if it doesn't go to plan keep working at it!

Congrats Dragon rider. Getting a drivers license is a big step in life :) I still remember how nervous I was when I got mine.

On to another subject. I found a funny (but quite empty and maybe not 100% serious) blog today. It seems to have been up only a couple of days or so but the subject apeals to me. It discusses what a geek is and what is geeky I think. :)

Weird blog. He's right though. Geeks and Nerds know a lot about those types of films and I'd rather be a geek/nerd than anything else really. I revel in my geekery. And my books, and my music, and some more books and some films.
Although unlike your stereotypical geek I don;t really like Sci-Fi stuff.

Yeah I know what you mean. But I guess that whoever is writing he/she looks to stereotypes. I consider myself a geek but I'm no megafan of sci-fi either. However I get suckerpunched by the moviepost since Tron is my absolute favourite movie ever all cathegories *continue rambling for about an hour about the greatness of Tron*. But I take a great detective story any day before sci-fi.

How it that even possible? It's like not having heard of {insert generic 80s fantasy/Brat Pack/action movie of your choice here}. You really should see that film sometime CurlyKit' (for the light cycle race and the sheer neony retro charm of it if nothing else).

edit: brokeded link fixeded. "Malformed URL" - what an evocative phrase.

Hold on. Is Tron that thing where they go inside a computer or something and it's all neon bars of lighting and dressed in white coverally things. With this virus/theft and some guy in a really big chair? I think I've seen it. Light cycle race certainly sounds familiar. BTW, the link is a 'malformed URL' apparently.

EDIT: Yes I am a humanities geek. Books and history, and more books. I have seen some sci-fi though.
