I don't know. The only puberty-related stuff the helmet did was repress her powers until puberty. I hypothesize the aging was an effort by her "smart" infection to bypass the conditioning.

Well not Kessen as in the character we're familiar with, but the shinigami he was posing is wanted to be more than friends with Kinkuzo. Takusen alienating Kinkuzo was one of several ways the hollow tortured Kessen into submission.

As for Hans, it's not so much that he wants love as he wants to make Bount babies.
