Arts and CraftsThe place to talk about stick figure avatars, graphic design, fan art, or any application of the visual arts and creative writing--or just to show off your latest masterwork!
Well, this seems like a decent enough place to ask. C2H5OH is restarting, me drawing, ask only being involved in scripting and checking. Anyhow, question is, do I contine the old thread, that being necromancy or start a new one, losing its history? Mainly a question to the mods, and Id assume its best to start a new one, but Ive been told by someone else simply to bump the old one, so I thorght Id ask.

I'd just res the old thead, I think you're allowed to bump and such as long as you actually add new content.
Hum, by "fancomics", do you mean OOTS-style webcomics?
Because there are some here that are not OOTS-style, and not related to the OOTSverse either. Would they belong to the same subforum, or to another one?
EDIT: if non oots-style count too, I'd like to link to Path to Greater Good, by Neoriceisgood

Thanks. I promise not to voodoo you in the near future.
OK, there are a lot of questions on this thread, I will hope to get to all of them:
1.) Yes, after consulting with all the mods, ABR and all Avatar Battle Royale-related material should go into the fan comic forum. If someone could provide the links to all relevant threads, we would appreciate it.
2.) The banner comics thread will stay here, as it has neither a single creator nor any continuity. It's essentially like an avatar thread, only with banners.
3.) As far as including non-stick figure art, we're going to define a fan comic as any comic that EITHER uses an art style/setting that is a clear homage to OOTS (or Erfworld) OR is posted by a fan on this website instead of anywhere else. Meaning that if you have a webcomic that isn't related to OOTS at all, but you only post it here? It's a fan comic. If you have another site with it? It's a regular webcomic, even if it started here. You can have a thread about it in the Webcomic board, but you can't post your updates here. All comics related to OOTS in style or content, however, always count as fan comics.
4.) This new forum will have different rules on Thread Necromancy. In short, yes, we would prefer you to raise your old thread and continue it rather than starting a new one.
Also, the list will be updated momentarily.

Now i have conflicting advise. Having pm'd asking for what to do, I was told to make a new one... I believe Ill go with The Big footprint. Thanks anyway Rawhide.
Irrelevant, this thread only concerns webcomics in the Arts and Crafts forum.
Um...

We are requesting that everyone who maintains a fan comic on this message board please respond to this post with a link to all threads related to your comic.
"Message board" implies that this encompasses the entire forum, not just the A&C board.
The comic is irrelevant, regardless, but don't forget that some fan comics have been posted in the webcomics board.
If you're going to do this then I would suggest:
A Check if you're going to have enough time and energy for this.
B Lots, and lots of planning. Set up well-known(atleast well known itp) judges who you know will be reliable and won't drop out suddenly.
C Other random stuff.
Also, D, a trophy maker. People will go great lengths for shiny trophies.

I'm working on all of those. Trust me A is no problem. B is in progress. C is on its way. And D needs a little work, but its coming.
Here's a new comic I've started. Request moving to the Fan Comics section.
