Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XIX: To FAIL, or not to FAIL?
Hmmmm... I've just noticed that I've been random-killed a lot. Why do I have to be the punching bag? Is it the easy-to-drawness of my charecter? The fact that his kind of evil is the kind everyone wants to kill? is is because no one likes me? Is it the fact that I find hilarious and/or disturbing ways of killing you?

I believe it's the killing of a little girls cute and fluffy pets that did it.

No, thats wasn't it. I think it was the killing of little girl's cute and fluffy pets, zombifying the cute, fluffy, and dead pets, and then making the zombie cute and fluffy pets attack the little girl. It was fun (I distinctly remember cackling maniacally).

@Fal: Thats because clowns are such the opposite of ninjas that to the untrained they look about the same, but are actually opposites just using the same methods. Its also because clowns are so sneaky they snuck to the other end of the ninjaness scale and no one noticed.
EDIT:...Canadia? Where is that? And snow is nice thank-you-very-much. Except when it rains and all the snow freezes and there's ice everywhere.
Makes sense. I'm finally home, so I can make a clown.

Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XIX: To FAIL, or not to FAIL?
Very well Nameless, your grasp of time is correct. For once.
It has been over 24 hours since the last vote, and I'll repost the current votes here:
For including FAIL
Against including FAIL
BRC
Lemming
Keveak
CrimsonAngel
The Gremlin
Tired N' Drowzy
chriky
Fayte
The Randomizer
Threeshades
VampireRot
Szilard
Ninja Chocobo
bayar
-skimmer-
memarch is voting for whoever has the least votes.
Lyinginbedmon is voting for whoever has the most votes.
So they cancel out! (Technically they add 1 to both)
-skimmer- will drop out in case of a draw (but I'm not counting that for now, or it just gets complicated.
For: 9
Against: 8
Last vote: Lyinginbedmon at 10:53PM GMT. Voting ends 11PM on March 11th.

*totely not trying to revive an old argument... No sarcasm intended*
Well since now the argument's been revived...
What bugs me about the whole thing is the "Not use" people are calling for a complete embargo on the term whereas the "use" people have made compromises. It's a give and take process, people!
Anyway. What I propose is that the name is used in the cartoon, and progresses to being used by small children, and adults possibly when in the presence of small children, or using it ironically, or if they're massive geeks regarding the cartoon.
Thus, the term is used, but rarely and in fairly specific circumstances.
Feel free to ignore this, but I consider this the most logical use.

It was also the use in which I envisioned it occurring most frequently.
So perhaps you'd like to cast a vote into the "For FAIL" category then? We have another 8 hours left before voting ends again.

As you can see, it is currently a tie, so we have another 24 hours of voting.
See now this is where I'm confused, the graph says not- fail is in the lead with 7/6 but then you say it's 8/8.
What do you mean?
Also, was Szilard the last person to vote?

The table shows who's voted for what, but memarch had voted for whoever is currently losing, so his vote keeps switching. It was 7/8, so memarch counted as voting "For FAIL", so it became 8/8.

Well, if you don't want FAIL not to appear in the ABR at all, then I'll put you down as "For Including FAIL".
EDIT: Damn your ninja edit and some forum lag NC!

Not if one group pulls two points ahead, or we wait 48 hours after a tied vote.

But aside from that viewers would recognize that FAIL is just a take-off of ALF, and call FAIL ALF. You can't have your cake and eat it too.
Besides, every other media probably calls it ALF, why would ONE TV show make people call an organization a joke name when EVERYTHING ELSE (newspapers, government, etc.) calls it something else. The show might be popular, but it can't make everyone call a terrorist organization a joke name.

Nameless called a vote on whether the concept of FAIL should be kicked out of ABR completely. So if you don't want that, vote "For including FAIL", and then after that we can vote on how much people use it.

That would be accurate. 'Use FAIL' is really just allowing it in FI at all, in the show mostly, occasionally used outside it. Especially around children, as the word 'FAIL' is less likely to upset them than a 'real' name like ALF.
Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XIX: To FAIL, or not to FAIL?
Still arguing about that nonsense? Do you people even understand what "nickname" mean? Who wants call them FAIL, then call them FAIL and who dont, its his choice. After all this is how nicknames has been created (Even the worst like this one). I cant disallow that. (its not like I could even disallow something, but you know what I am trying to say)
Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XIX: To FAIL, or not to FAIL?
So can I put your vote down for "For Including FAIL" then?
If you want, I could word it as "Against the Exclusion of FAIL", because it amounts to the same thing.
*Totally not trying to gain as many votes as possible through clever campaigning.*
Which is a lie. I mean, that's the point of campaigning.
