At day, Evangeline Sakuraba is just another cute girl in school. With her status as the daughter of Sakuraba Industry’s recently deceased CEO, plus her blond hair and her green eyes from her mixed ancestry, she’s one of the popular girl in the highschool. Even her quirkiness like her interest to rather strange and unrelated topics and her inability to comprehend the word ‘no’ only add to her quirky charm. But you know something that others don’t. That after school hours...
She is an evil overlord with just one goal. WORLD DOMINATION.
The girl is an evil overlord. And that dark haired bespectacled boy that she often annoys and drags all over the school is her dragon/black knight/right hand man/might-be-boyfriend. From what you know from school, Nagase Hiro (first name Hiro) is actually a sensible and down to earth guy, mild mannered and rather deadpan. But for some reason, despite all his snarking and facepalming, he is totally devoted to the evil overlord.
Together with their ragtag crew of evil minion (that is you), each day they try to perfect their plan for world domination. Sure they got limited resources. And there are other, bigger,evil organization out there. Not counting those annoying busybodies of justice. But it's the passion that counts.
They won't stoop to murder or unleashing mutant beast to the civilians though. That's so unhonorable. Our evil overlord maybe evil, but she got this code of honor.
How do you know all that? It all started that one sunny day just after school…
The setting:
It is present day (or maybe near future). But there’s a slight difference. There are various evil organization, criminal empire, and mad scientists who want to rule the world. To oppose them, some people took their inner cape and become superheroes, some used the power of technology to be a metal encased defender of justice, or formed a team with garish colors to fight evil with the power of friendship. But nobody know all that for sure, because most of the time, they clash behind the scene. Just once in a while, someone unleashed a giant mutated crocodile or something that wreak havoc in a crowded mall. There will be explosion, gunfight, some people might be injured. Sometimes, even a few people died. But other than that, life is just as usual.
The technology level is just as present day, but with some wild leap of techs that isn’t available to the common masses from the constant unseen battle between good and evil.
The Game
It’s a MAID game. As direct pupil of sensei Neon Knight (Previously Karskin)’s school of MAID rpg, this will be less random and more plot based. I assume that you have the basic familiarity with it. Sadly I do not, because this would be my FIRST experience on MAID rpg. So, have pity. If you’re interested, but don’t know anything about the game, I might be able to teach you the basic (it’s rather simple). Because I’m currently still learning the basic too.
In case you didn’t notice, this wouldn’t be a typical MAID game. We’ll have a mansion, but we won’t be stuck inside it. It'll be a somewhat humorous game, but not slapstick. You get the idea.
Your character:
Well, true to the title, you should be Evangeline’s schoolmate. One day, Nagase asked you to have a chat in private. He said that he’s been watching you for a while, you got potential and so on, and he knew that you’ll accept his offer (you will). He offered you to join his secret organization that’s trying to rule the world. Other than that, I can’t think any restriction, other than you should try to make it fit this setting. Try to pitch your character, and I’ll see whether it will fit or not. Sorry if it doesn’t help too much. You may make it randomly, or not so randomly, up to you.
I’m rather fond of background, so try to make a good and interesting background for your character (eg, why do you accept the invitation, why were you invited at the first place). For now, you only know all that’s written above (plus you know for sure that there is/are evil organization(s) ). Depending on your background, you might know more. I’ll pm them as needed.
Please make sure that you will be able to post at least once a day. Well, not everyday I guess, but… ah, you know it yourself. I’ll hate to end this game just after one or two pages just because the lack of response, because I'm rather fond of this setting.
Sorry for my A-Team player that's waiting the new game, but I guess this game had been bothering me too much.
I'll wait for, two, three weeks, depending on the response. 6 maid/butler/brigade member minions would be acceptable.
If there are any question, feel free to ask. I'll not be around this weekend though, so my response might be delayed.

Are there character creation rules? Should we not know our various attributes before coming up with a character and background?

If you inspire yourself of Karskin's games, I supose you are using the rules of:
"Every characteristics start at 2 and 3 points to attribute" rather than the random "6*2d6/3" ?

Expressing interest. I have been in a number of Maid games by now so I know the system a bit. Sadly I am a lousy writer so while I'll try to make my character not too boring, I don't promess miracles for my background.

No. Either one is fine. But if you took a gynoid, make sure that you can pass yourself as a highschool student. And if you took a mad scientist, you still wont' be able to invent fantastic things for a while.
And someone from a ninja clan but got a revolver as his/her weapon actually is kinda cool.
I'm thinking my girl ran away from the circus. As in, she was raised in some highly exotic environment and fled it to live a normal life. Could be a rival evil organization. Could be she was a half-fiend being groomed as the Antichrist by a vile cult (or an Aasimar being groomed as a paladin by a holy order...). One day her dissatisfaction reached a breaking point and she found some mundane person with minimal ties to her roots (a part-time tutor? A maid?), showed up at their house, and refused to leave, being adopted by the overly kind-natured host. Now she's an aloof but highly competent individual who gets by by deflecting all awkward questions, with the unfortunate side-effect that when she takes an interest in someone she tends to just... watch them. Constantly. Wherever they are. And being impossible to dissuade.
The nature of her exotic background could be adjusted depending on what you think is the right level of silliness. Does Angel/Demon have mechanical consequences or is it purely descriptive? How does the Sibling thing work - would someone else have to get the same or can someone be designated independently of their own qualities? If no one's interested in volunteering for the relationship would it apply to an NPC?
Since we're not actually maids, what does Skill cover? Minionly duties in general?
With stress explosion and appearance details to be determined. Oh yeah, what do Stalking and Chain/Rope get me? (How much does it resemble or differ from a Whip, Garotte, Lasso, etc.?)

A Ninja who keeps up with the times? Hmm... maybe I will go with that.
I think I will detour a bit, and say not a Revolver, but an HK Mk. 23 (pistol used by USSOCOM). Has a LAM (Laser Aming Module) and a Silencer.
Angel/Demon Question... Mechanics in Maid... are really kind of non existent. The game is structured Freeform, in it's own peculiar way. Being an Angel or a Demon can give your character special powers, but it isn't written into the game. It just comes as a result of you and the GM talking.
Siblings, yeah, somebody volunteers. She could be my characters Sister. He grew up in a Shadow Clan, after all. Odd enough as is.
Skill covers more mundane things, usually. Computer Use, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, anything where pratice and knowledge are more important then willpower, brute strength, or any of the others.
Stalking as a power means if you choose to follow someone, there is no roll. As long as you are tailing someone, you are effectively invisible. Chain/Rope means whatever you want it to.
Cool beans. As far as Angel/Demon I was mostly wondering whether they require you to exhibit some blatant supernatural ability, wings, horns, anything like that. If it's something that can be done purely as "also I am a demon, just FYI", that's cool.
Okay, so now I'm thinking some sort of Evil Ninja Superweapon Experiment fled and living as a high school student. I'm up for the sibling thing, whether neither, either or both of them are aware of it. Chain/Rope, I'm thinking something like Rider's daggers-on-chains?
Hmmm, a combination of high Skill and Stalking points me at a demon (or demon bound to a mortal host, or whatever) purposed for assassinations, who can tail a target unerringly and without being seen, and has a natural knack for all kinds of skills, to both assist in the pursuit and help to blend in or fake an identity. Mostly because "succubus" seems too obvious.

However fantastic your character might be, just be sure to keep the masquerade. Hmm... The majority of people won't know that there are ninjas, demon, and gynoids.

Will our mistress? It'll be straightforward enough to conceal our odder natures from the world at large as part of concealing our clandestine activities in general, harder to keep them hidden from one another and/or our superiors.

Oh, you may decide it. Why were you invited at the first place? For example, if you're invited because Nagase noticed your uncanny ability on stalking, the mistress might not know that you're a demon. But on the other hand, you might be invited because they know that you're a demon.
Maid RPG is something more freeform than normal rpg. Most things are roleplayed and came from a talk between the player and the DM basically.
I don't think our leader should know my characters identity as a Ninja, at least not off the bat. I'd say they were picked up because of their high athletic ability and reflexes.
And Kami, if neither of them know they are siblings, tis rather pointless. What Gender is your character going to be, and you want Elder or younger sibling?
I'd agree with Tackyhillbillu (do you have a preferred abbreviation?) that the ninja thing should be secret. My girl can be recruited based on her powers of Stalk, as suggested. Both the ninja past and, if included, the demon thing can be secret.

I was thinking female. Elder or younger, I don't mind (we'd need to be pretty close in age, anyway, wouldn't we?).
Options that occur to me:
- your character is supposed to find and retrieve mine. He's part of a super-secret ANBU-type organization within the clan, so she doesn't actually know his face, despite their blood relation. He, of course, recognizes her, but needs to proceed carefully to take her back in to the fold while also accomplishing his main objective with the Evil Organization.
- your character may or may not be supposed to track mine, but it's mine whose appearance is unknown (as part of the binding ritual, she was raised apart and always went masked, yadda yadda...). So I know who you are but you don't know that I know.
- we both recognize each other, but you place no priority on retrieving me, or else it's just way down the list after our obligations to Evangeline (and we both want to keep our pasts secret anyway).

Hmmm. I'd proclaim he's her Elder Brother. A year or two older, no more.
I also vote for option 2. As part of the binding ritual, she was taken away at some young age. 8 or 9 maybe. She's dwelt apart from him ever. Maybe she occasionally stalked behind him, and watched him, but some terrible punishment was threatened if she ever contacted him. He remembers her as 8year old Girl, and probably thinks she is dead.

I could try random character generation.... but I find that tends to not be very good for character concepts. That being said... assuming I haven't made enemies out of everyone before even playing (Thus proving I'm either really bad or really good at this...) what would be most needed?
I'm a fan of mad science, but it sounds like we already have one of those. Granted, I could make a clashing personality and explosions/hideous monsters ensue, which is why I'm throwing that one out there.
I could also play a witch. The bad kind. Petty. Jealous. Sneaks love potions into things. Rocks out to Death Metal. Good times.
Throwing this one out there even though it's probably not appropriate, but Communist Robot. (Why is a Communist Robot working for an evil corporation? Capitalist pigs don't get an answer!)
Last time I did one of these (waves to Kamikasei) random character generation gave me the most offensive character ever. She was the Antifeminist. I was frankly about ready to drop out when I realized that I could take a lot of black humor and be subversive about it. And I'm an awful person for doing it. The idea being that she would be constantly abused, and apologize for hurting peoples fists. So, I've proven that I can play a character I hate too. I refer to this concept as "Frank Miller's Barbie." Pretty, stupid, and abused.
If the rest of the players are also awful people, I could try one of these again.
I could probably do a good Alcoholic, Gambling, Violent Delinquent. I had a Shadowrun character a bit like that. Also good times.
Assuming any of those concepts are good, I can write up a background.
