Actually this is the ending I would have preferred for Braveheart:

Mel Gibson: "I want to make a movie about Scottish hero William Wallace. I'm going to run around in a kilt through the whole film and wear blue face paint, and I'll spend the last half-hour being disembowelled."

Movie studios: "No thanks, we'll pass on that one."
