Re: Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil (IC): Thread 2
Moathouse: Planting 8/9, Somwhere ‘Round Midnight
Round 1 (cont.)
After scorching the cleric, Megiddo brings his light to where his allies can benefit.
The light is not enough to keep Grigor’s attack from glancing off the creature’s armor. However, the light does aid Tell’s aim and as one of his chain’s heavy links strike the cleric in the head and the creature collapses.
Round 2
As the scaled cleric hits the floor, his compatriot arrives around the corner. “Yeah, yeah, I’m co—$#*%!” Upon seeing what has happened he ducks back around the corner and, from the sounds of things, either babbles something in a strange language or casts a spell.
Re: Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil (IC): Thread 2
Grigor, human cleric
Grigor moves down the corridor, right on top the place where the (Troglodyte? Lizardman? Something scaly at any rate) evil cleric fell and notches another arrow to help out Tell with his foe.
(Fortune smiles upon us... two foes at our mercy. We will make the best of it. Thank you Olidamarra!)
Spoiler
Shoot the guy Tell is engaging: (1d20+4)[11], dmg.:(1d6+2)[6]

Moathouse: Planting 8/9, Somwhere ‘Round Midnight
(( Wow. Had to wrap my head around Grigor having 30 ft. movement (thanks to no armor) and Tell having 20 ft. movement (no more longstrider) this time… ))
Round 2 (cont.)
Megiddo advances with his team.
Grigor does his best to aim at the sliver of cleric he can see. Unfortunately, the odd angle doesn’t help, and the arrow only hits the wall.
(( Tell, a charge won’t work here. You have to move directly towards your opponent, which from the PHB examples is along a line straight from your square to your opponent’s. That’d take Tell through a wall. ))
Re: Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil (IC): Thread 2
Spoiler
Sorry I thought I only had to have a clear line to "the closest square from which you can attack." I'll assume Tell only Ran last round and I will make my actions for the new round based on that.
Round 2 Redux
Tell runs up toward the person but finds he doesn't have enough room to ready his chain on the way.
Round 3
Tell sets himself up in a sidelong stance and swings his chain.

Moathouse: Planting 8/9, Somwhere ‘Round Midnight
(( Yeah, I always found the direct line/closest square thing a bit confusing myself. ))
Round 3
The remaining cleric backs up and holds up a pendant. He waves it and chants a few words. Again, Tell feels an assault on his mind, but this time he is unable to shake it off. The druid freezes in place, unable to move ((Will save: 1d20+7=10; fail; hold person )).
(( Given that Megiddo doesn’t have much else to do in order to help Tell, I assume he’s going to still try and go for the cleric with his sword. Yes? Already moving Megiddo on the map for that.
But Grigor, you got any new reaction after seeing Tell freeze up? ))
Re: Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil (IC): Thread 2
Grigor, human cleric
Grigor watches the fight, seeing that he can't do much good with his bow at the moment.
But then the enemy casts a spell or chants a prayer (hard to make out) and Tell suddenly freezes up.
Fortunately, Megiddo rushes up to Tell's aid. And so Grigor himself decides to move southwards, placing himself between Megiddo and Tell for now and drawing his sword as he does so. He keeps his bow in his left hand for now.
"Don't worry, we have you covered!"

Round 3 (cont.)
(( Okay, Burning Hands! Didn’t know you still had that. ))
The cleric attempts to shield himself from Megiddo’s flames, but he takes the brunt of the blast
Grigor runs down the hall to help defend Tell.
Tell manages to fight off the spell (( Will Save: 1d20+7=27; Success! ))
Round 4
The cleric casts another spell. The air around Tell bursts into a loud, bone-shaking cacophony. The noise is enough to really shake up everyone. The shock causes Grigor to lose focus and drop his sword and bow. (( Tell Fort:1d20+9=17; Megiddo Fort: 1d20+2=17; Grigor: 1d20+6=12; Tell and Megiddo succeed, Grigor fails; Grigor stunned )).
Re: Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil (IC): Thread 2
Tell
Breaking himself free of one spell and shattering through the crushign weight of another, Tell now takes his turn moving to the front and interposing himself between the apostate and his own stunned friend.
As he moves in with his chain he flashes a wolfish look and utters, "That's it. Keep fighting." He wants the man to know he will take pleasure in finishing this the hard way.
Re: Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil (IC): Thread 2
(actually, making another will save for hold person is a full round action, so you don't act this turn, sorry.)
Really wish D&D had an all-out attack option, but oh well. Also, did we take damage from that sound burst, or was it something else?
Spellcraft (1d20+16)[21]
Megiddo will move forward to distract the cleric from his momentarily incapacitated alles, and attack.
Re: Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil (IC): Thread 2
(( Okay. Then. I was checking sheets. Forgot you have it in your sig.
Replace that “3” with “in my sig” or something. ))
(( I’ll make a changed update later. Right now is breakfast time.
Full update is done: ))
Moathouse: Planting 8/9, Somwhere ‘Round Midnight
Round 4 (cont.)
Megiddo’s attack is a little clumsy and easily dodged.
Grigor spends a moment trying to refocus on what’s going on.
Tell steps forward to attack. Tell feels some resistance and there is a flicker of light around his chain that seems to divert it so it bounces harmlessly off the cleric’s armor.
Round 5
Grigor manages to find his focus. (( Grigor is no longer stunned. ))
The cleric backs away. He attempts to cast another spell, but is distracted by his attempts to stay out of the range of Tell’s chain. It appears he is unable to complete the spell, as the guttural invocations give away to common curses.
Re: Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil (IC): Thread 2
Grigor, human cleric
Seeing that his allies are pressing the attack on the remaining cleric (and blocking access to him too), Grigor decides to pick up his weapons first of all.

Re: Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil (IC): Thread 2
Grigor, human cleric
Not quite sure about how he could be most helpful, Grigor just stows his bow and grabs his sword with both hands, stepping up beside Tell, keeping himseld ready should the enemy cleric move.
At least he can try and cut him of should he try to flee. But in his currently unarmoured state he is reluctant to close into melee...
Spoiler
Move just south of Tell, ready and attack if the cleric moves up.

Moathouse: Planting 8/9, Somwhere ‘Round Midnight
Round 5 (cont.)
Grigor steps to where he can offer support to Tell.
Tell moves to a position where it makes it difficult for the cleric to watch both Tell and Megiddo. Taking advantage of the distraction, Tell is able to strike the cleric in the head with his chain. The cleric falls to the ground and stops moving.
