A Thought About The Demonic Alliance... [wild speculation]

I'm sure this has come up before, so feel free to tell me to shut up, but I've been trawling the archive, and the Alliance don't explicitly state WHEN they get V's soul. Combine that with the fact that they were worried when she lost the soul splices in Xykon's lair...

So my (probably previously thought of and/or wrong) theory is that they're going to take control when the Order reach one of the gates, possibly re-splicing her to ensure she succeeds. And maybe - just maybe - Belkar will die trying to stop them.

This is pretty much the default theory, on what will happen with V, yes.

Can still be interesting to speculate how it will happen though.

(Or, if it will turn out to be a red herring.)

That's pretty much the point of the entire thing, so yes, you're right.

V thinks the demons will get ahold of his soul when he dies. The demons want to take him over when it's most advantageous to them -- which, presumably, means when V is at a gate.
