Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
Well, while I am disappointed that my question challenge wasn't answered (which is understandable, since it's more ABR related), I am quite pleased so see cameos from my characters, complete with speech patterns.
As for this comic, I would like to say that of all the comics that were around when I was first a n00b on these boards, yours is the only one that hasn't died or moved on to it's own website. Your comic is the only glimpse we (conveniently) have for the history of fancomics. I really do respect how much you've stuck with this. Even if we don't comment as much or even critisize your story telling capabilities, you've still managed to stick with it. And you've given a lot of laughs and interesting storytelling. I, for one, really do appreciate it.
Here's a...little token of my gratitude. Something I quickly threw together. I plan to make a much more detailed version later.
Spoiler
With longer runners like us (though I end my comics before they get nearly as long, but we both started at around the same time) who constantly update, we do get taken for granted, I think. But it's important that we don't let it get to us.
We're fancomic writers.
We write stories.
We create sheer universes from our bare imagination, make breathing characters live their lives in an epic journey or perish painfully with nothing but art programs just simply so people online can say "Wow. Good job. Interested in reading more".
Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
Considering that i'm constantly (IRL) being accused of being a drama queen (What is a drama queen anyway? I mean, what's the insult's origins? Who or what was Drama Queen Zero?) I can say that I appreciate dramatization every now and then.
But anyways, it's good to hear Q.
I tried tying your questions into the anniversary, but I can't control what my characters do or say. This comic's a lot less scripted than you think.
Anyways, bad news. Due to a little bit of sickness (I'm fine now) and not liking how the comic's turning out i've scrapped the half-finished next comic (too lazy to look up number) and am working on something else. Expect it this sunday, saturday if i'm lucky.
Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
Good luck with that.
Anyways, even though I was worried I wouldn't have it by monday, here it is. Comic 329 is up. I'd have it sooner, except it was slowed by Bulk, Complexity, Sickness, and a little bit of lag.
Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
I had a VERY good idea for the name of the unestablished currency used by the Tau (And I absolutely REFUSE to use "credits") but I forgot it so I just thought "Hey, what would pass off as proxy currency in a base populated almost entirely by soldiers?" Truth be told, Tau pulse weapons don't use clips. -_-
Comic 330 is up. Even though the chapter is called "A Final Peace" this chapter's gonna have a LOT of fightin'. Time to push the limits on what a stick-figure fight can be.

I could name a couple more things that are heresy... But linking to TvTropes would probably be one of the things to top my list too. Your brain can explode if you enter unprepared
Retardedspeak for the win! As great as always
Also : Congrats for creating one of the weirdest characters I've ever seen (I followed the link in your banner)

As you can see by the banner, we're full to bursting on players (Only half of 'em will probably be active by the end of next week though) so don't attempt to join....just yet.
Still, not reading this comic is one of the biggest heresies out there, next to not pressing Z or R twice to barrel roll.
Comic 333 is up. 24 panels I had a lot of fun making. Came out pretty well if I do say so myself.
Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
Sometimes you just get a spectator wincing and fighting sound effects, other times you strange fight scenes where it's hard to see the choreography of a fight, and other times you get things like this that just defy explamation. I like to do my fighting where the choreography is obvious and every move flows into the character's next move in the next panel.
On the plus side, a rarity has occurred, I know exactly what i'm doing for this entire chapter! All I can say is that next chapter you'll note how ironic this chapter's name really isn't.

I can try one thing: I recall I can't remember when or why but when I open a comic in MSPaint and save it in there, it shrinks the file size...by a lot.
