Default A Balance Question...

Greetings, Homebrew Forum!

I have been lurking on this forum for the better art of two years. The work done on this thread for 3.5 D&D is nothing short of amazing - I have been using more material from this board in my games than official supplements.

To that end, I have a question.

My homebrew world already uses the benders from the Avatar homebrew from this site as monk replacements, but when I came across the new Sorceror, I was very impressed.

Are these classes balanced against each other? They both use seeds, but the sorceror can spend points, rather than making a bending roll. Does the roll limit the "spellcasting" too much? Or is the diversity of the bending seeds (and the viability for multiclassing) and the d8 hit die enough to keep things even?

Your answer is no, they're not balanced against each other, although they might be balanced in play.

They're parts of different projects. Fax is running the d20r project, which is essentially a complete new edition of D&D. The Avatar project is also essentially the same, but the two are balanced within themselves, not necessarily against anything else.

Ah, sorry. Miscommunication.

I meant if they were balanced in play. I understand that they are part of two seperate projects - I was just looking to see if I could use them both in my game without unbalancing it.
