So I bought my friend a used copy of Fable 2 at gamestop for X-mas. I didn't think to open it seeing as how I hadn't had any problems beforehand. Anway, he opens it up and there's a copy of fallout 3 in there.
I'm at a loss for words.

I would if it hadn't been two weeks since I bought it. In the unlikely event that they DID buy the story, it would be against store policy since I didn't get the warranty plan.

Edit: Can you trade in the Fallout 3 for some credit towards Fable II? At least then you're not totally lost. But I would try returning it, and explaining the story. I'm sure they understand that it's been two weeks since it was an xmas gift.

Edit: Ok, i suppose that's one plan, though I'm now about $350 in debt from buying gifts in the first place so I can't put anything towards it. But my second question still stands.

I just went to a gamestop today and they really just want to rush people out the store. I asked a lovely girl working there whether pre-xmas or post-xmas was worse, and with a sense of exhaustion to her she said post without a second thought.
Poor girl.
But then again I imagine employees might be a bit bias since they just went through both, but eh perhaps post is worse.
Anyway, the point is they want to move the lines as quickly as possible. If you don't get the game changed ASAP then asking to get the EXTREMELY busy manager out would be more than enough I imagine.
Also, right now there is someone out there with your game in their box, so said person might have already complained.

For the third time, its because of the situation that it was bad. The person I bought it for wanted Fable 2 (for some masochistic reason) and already had Fallout 3.

Fallout: Never played. Looks awesome though, and I loved oblivion (which seemed to have the same chassis and construction workers as the third one). Fable... Eh? Take it or leave it. Losing faith in humanity over mixing up the two? Grow a sense of proportion. I mean honestly. Plus, 99% of people will be willing to help you out in such a mixup, if you stay polite, and smiley, and you keep apologizing.
