Re: Our Comic Lab in the Playground: An experimentation class
Question: I am considering a comic based on the lives of kids in a fantasy setting. One question: how the earth do you make a teenager/child look like a teenager/child without looking like a short person/halfing respectively?

Have their proportions be roughly the same as those of adults. Halflings and dwarves just have flattened bodies, their width and heads are the same as humans.

I'm thinking of making the head a bit bigger, probably giving him fingers, but what I really need help with is eyes. I want them to have colors, but realistic eyes launch it into Uncanny Valley. So... Help?
Remember this guy? I changed him up a bit. It's still rough, but those accursed eyes! He's not supposed to look like the main villain. Something is obviously wrong with this.

Specify an alt attribute. But what I suspect you really want to do is add a tooltip, for which you should use a title attribute.
Unfortunately, there isn't an option for either in vB code.

Damnit DLB, stop making us look bad.
Just today I was happy because I accidentally stumbled upon a good way to draw the standard male hairstyle (Which I then made all distinctive-like for James).
Then I look at your art, writing, and the way you're able to put out eight comics a day.
I'm serious, somebody get this man a crown.

It's not that big of a deal, but I appreciate the praise all the same. I do what I do because I like to do it, and that's about it, really.

Re: Our Comic Lab in the Playground: An experimentation class
So upon recieving some helpful criticism, I've decided to make the uniforms my character's wear slightly less...well...uniform, I'm wondering what people think of the new models.
Here's the old design for the task force codenamed Foxhound
They are all in standard DSF street uniform or riot gear
Here's the new one (Minus Elizibeth Valrine, who I havn't done anything with yet)
Comments?
In case you are wondering, Marcus and James are wearing slightly modified uniforms of the DSF records department (Which they are officially transferred too while they are working on Foxhound because Records is boring and nobody pays much attention to it). Robert and Dave are just wearing bulletproof vests and whatever sweet gear they scrounged up.

Well Marcus doesn't wear the tie ( might have him drop the vest and keep the tie though), and his skin color is different. The Big problem was telling James apart from other DSF officers. By putting him in a different uniform and keeping records department guys off-panel for the most part I can probably avoid that.
Really, you won't see more than 3 people regularly wearing that uniform, two of them are James and Marcus, and the third will be Elizabeth, who will obviously be neither of the above two.
If the lack of tie and/or vest, skin color, and hair color arn't enough, I'll have one of them grow a beard a few chapters in.
