How would a comic based on the premise of the following picture sound like ? Good idea ? Bad Idea ? Sod Off Idea ?

Spoiler
I think the picture requires a little more explanation then that, but you know, it looks like it would be a good comic premise.

Teenagers in a fantasy universe, role-playing as business men, finally see their world as the wonderous place that it is and go on an epic quest, originally to have fun, but later to rescue one of their fellow role-playing friends, which leads them on an epic jorney of fun, explosions, true love with hot elf chicks, self discovery, friendship, misunderstandings, and plenty of Chekhov's guns about their role-playing history to use skills and values of the mundane world, to make one of the greatest lighthearted feel-good fun-for-the-whole-family laugh-out-loud comedies of the year!

Yeah, I pulled most of that out of my ass. A picture is not enough to make a comic about.

However, did YOU draw that? Because no matter how crummy the story is, that art will save it if you used it in your comic.

Very Nice.

So, I need some advice. I'm experimenting with using different backgrounds for combat scenes rather than the actual background.
Here's an example

Does this look better than if I used a normal background, or does it just look stupid.

It makes it look like an advertising campaign for some Pepsi-branded breakdancing product.

Critique: Even though I can tell what's going on, for one thing the characters aren't standing on any distinguishable floor, and two, even though they're clearly in the same area the background changed as if they moved

Sort of concept art for a comic I've been thinking about starting for a while.

Probably gonna end up calling it "Continuity Error" after my old failed comic. :P

Still working out all the kinks, plot/story wise. But for the most part it's your standard "into the rabbit hole" deal. In a nutshell, protagonist A finds his way from World A to World B where he encounters protagonist B and the shadowy organization B works with. I'd give you actual details, but then I'd be giving away the plot.

Already have names and backstories sorted out for the characters. Except for the one on the right who's still missing her name.

Not sure if I'll even start it though. Just an idea that's been gathering dust in my mind for a while.

Had almost the same comic idea about a year ago, but was too lazy to draw it.

If the protagonist happens to dual wield a katana and a Mac-10, then it would be perfect

Reminds me of a scene in Simon the Sorcerer (I think it was the first game) where Simon stumbles upon geeks in a fantasy world playing a tabletop game called Apartments and Accountants.

I come asking for people's honest opinions on an idea for a fancomic I have had while doodling in class. At first it was just for giggles, although recently I have actually considered it as a possible fancomic. I realize that I'm going to run out of comics to review on The Q's Comic Review relatively soon, and while I will not stop reviewing comics when permission is given to me, I probably will not be able to do it on a weekly basis much longer. And so, I need help to decide whether to start a new fancomic when The Q's Comic Review runs out of comics or just double my other comic's, Smooth Moves, update schedule.

Anyway, here's the description.
Spoiler

Here's the title and title page.
Spoiler

Here's the first comic.

SO basically, I'm asking your opinions on whether or not I should go through with this when The Q's Comic Review runs it's course. And, if anybody has any sugestions, with the artstyle or many with a character or a reference they want to see, I'm all ears.

Yeah, I'm not so much liking this art style, but that's just me. I'd have to think of words to describe it and suggestions, but I'm a bit lazy right now. :P

A question, I'm working on the next Rebellion|Revolution, and I'm trying to get a point across visually, but I'm not sure it's working.
Here's the image in question. For reference, the entire comic up to that point has NOT been in the trenches, but in a city (Red walls=bricks)

Here's What I'm trying to do
Spoiler

So, is that coming across, or does the image make absolutely no sense without the explanation. One of the things Q's review of Rob and Jack made me realize is that I can't assume people will read anything that isn't actually in the main comic, and I don't want anybody who dosn't know to look for my explanation to be totally confused by this.

A thought bubble perhaps? Assuming the second panel is him now and him then in the background.

I'd recomend making the background in the second panel a little transparent or adding somme color effect. Or maybe a border like a thought bubble. It might make more apparent the fact that there's only one character who is flashbacking

Q: If you ever put that comic up, I don't think I'll follow it, because the art looks really bad. I mean, really bad. I'm so sorry that I have to say this to you without being able to give any constructive critisism, but it's just not pleasent to look at. It doesn't even look like Mario-characters...

I'm not saying that you'er a bad artist. Because your art in Q's Comic Review, Smooth Moves and My Name Is Q is very good. Sorry to say it, but... yeah, now I've said it
