The main character is in my grade, and has my name, and it prolly goes without saying that I'm a bit bookish. I like this comic already.

A note for you from a grammar/phonics nerd: the plural of codex is codices. you misspelled that on one page.

Opposite for me: art seems a bit... grittier, for lack of a better word, but the story's got me extremely interested.

    Thanks for the replies.

Tribble: In addition to the mistake you've just pointed out I've already found two within that chapter. Not a really good way to start off, but since I lost my original files already there's not much I can do now. Thanks for pointing it out though.

The art this time was done on paper then scanned in, so it doesn't match my previous OotS comics in quality, but it makes it a lot quicker to do pages, so...

I'll tell you what, the downside to Codex 142, The All-Seeing Codex, doesn't seem that bad. Cover up your boring, normal eyes and get two more magical, floating eyes.

    Anyway, my thoughts:

"Hmm.... this is pretty interesting. I wonder what's gonna happen with th- NO MORE?! Awww...."

So yeah, I'll definitely be watching this.

Wait, I think I can tell some codices from the Chapter Cover. Let's see here... Lunar, guessing that's Werewolf... the All-Seeing Eye one... the Angelic one... is that the Vampire one there? I think I see a Water one... there's Devil, Lightning... I think I see Time... A hexagram, ritual, maybe? Flora, Ghost, Insect, Beast...

    What you guys think?

Seems interesting. I'm of course wondering what special power the main character will get that will someone make him overshadow the rest of the pages (I've read too much TV Tropes). Also the abrupt ending hurt me inside. :P

    Keep on trucking.

    Thanks for all the feedback.

Well, the Codices aren't really meant to be balanced. There are obviously ones that are better than others, but overall their uses and properties differ enough that people might enjoy one more than the other. It's not like Pages of the same Codex have the same powers, either. Can't talk any more about that, since I do want to keep some mystery in there.

Ah, yes. TvTropes. I'm hoping this thing will end up on there someday.

Don't you think it's kind of ironic weird that TvTropes talks about tropes besides those on TV shows?

Well, it was originally called that because it started putting down tropes for Television Shows (First starting with Buffy the Vampire Slayer.) Soon, it started spreading into other mediums, such as literature, anime, live action tv, etc.

Also, Elagune, isn't that what all amateur (read: non-professional) writers hope for?

I'm planning on putting up new chapters as soon as I'm done with them.

The process goes from drafting, to drawing the panels, to inking them, to scanning them in, then photoshop to put it all together. Right now I'm inking page 9 of chapter 2, so it won't be too long before it's done. Still, there are a lot of images in one page, so it might take a while.

An excellent and finely crafted joke, it's little things like this that take a comic from OK to very good, which is what this comic is.

Mentioning it before it happens sends the percent chance of it occuring either up or down by at least 25% depending on the kind of author.

Not always. Some authors probably already have it planned to (not) happen and won't care if people figure it out before hand.
