The good ol' Will-O-Whisp, huh? I can agree with Ben here. If I remember, there are several explanations. So I take it as Unreliable Narrator, then? Or is there another Trope for this kind of situation?
Given the amount of spells for each chapter they could all be based on different pages with different abilities.
It could even be a cultural thing, one adopts a style more fitting too one's original culture when becoming a page and thus the myths of Japan and England are vastly different.
Chapter 8 makes me curious. At first it seemed like Pages were the basis of myths. Now it seems like myths cause Pages to come into existence.
If this is true, there's a chance that gods exist. Also Santa Claus.
Maybe some work one way and others work the other? ...or belief in a myth causes it's codex to exist or an existing one expand to cover it?
Wait. These Codices are books. Books have authors... Who is the Author?

And which would that be in a world where all myths are somewhat true? It's only a hypothetical in any case. What I am finding interesting is going back and re-reading...there are a lot of hints and foreshadowing. The Zero Union thing? 5th page. A lot of symbols for codices? FIRST page. Which makes me wonder about the single black page that is easily visible (and upside down.)
A masterfully done work Elagune.

I'd expect that the codices caused the myths to be born, and that similarities between myths and pages is either the page causing the myth, or getting named (or getting a nickname) based on the myth caused by past pages.
Also, just a thought I had, but I wonder if Ben might not actually be making a new codex with his white box weapon. It currently can only hold a single spell, but perhaps it will eventually have 50 and modify them to create a new codex (or he will find he is able to make new spells to put in it).
Also, is there an lovecraftian horror codex?
Edit: Also, would anyone like to try typing up some of the character descriptions or the like for the wiki? I'm getting busy with class so can't do it all, and it would help if some people could type up some stuff I could just look over then copy and paste in.

The current supported hypothesis is that is three 6's... thus 666 or the Devil's Codex, I believe.
I figured that (as a Nero Codex would both be rather strange and quite possibly useless) but I meant more in a literary sense. The page is all black: Coated in Ink. ... Ink is a seductive and corrupting force that drives pages to evil. It makes promises of power... and costs the page their mind and body. (I'm not sure what it does for their spiritual well being, and I don't want to make a call)
It seems to me that this Diabolic Codex could be the source of Ink. I think it seems to fit.

Oh god I hope not. Lovecraftian horrors aren't really scary except as "Oh my god it's a giant, ugly monster!" further they are horrifically overplayed and insidious in nature. Not every universe need monsters from beyond reality, and they certainly don't need to copy Lovecraft's works to make them.
