Hope this Olain can give us some work, or at least something more to buy than food... Says Wildgeist joyfully while entering the fur shop and looking for the aforesaid. Good day!!! Anybody there?

A short dwarf with mousy hair waves at you from behind a counter. The elegant fur-lined vest and matching hat he wears make a good advertisement for his work, although little enough of it is to be found on the shelves.
"A good day to you! I'm afraid my selection is rather limited at the moment, but I've plenty to keep you warm if you've any exploration planned."

We do have exploration of a sort in mind, but we're hoping to do it under your banner. The word around the market is that you've been having trouble bringing your goods in, and the three of us were looking to offer ourselves as guards for your next caravan.
Olain studies you for a while, apparently considering. "Hm... it has been difficult to make contact lately, and you three look sturdy enough, so we could probably go further in..." He lapses into inaudible muttering for a few moments, the fingers of one hand tapping across the desk.
"Say, three gold each per day? I'll provide supplies for the journey, and a bonus at the end depending on how successful the trip is?"

Yes, it's a good deal. Perhaps after we reach your destination and pick up your supplies, you might also provide us some of your wares at a discount? Warmer clothing could be a boon in this climate.
"Ah, of course, if you lack proper clothing, we must get you some; you will require it once we're away from the ocean." Olain snatches a roll of measuring tape from under the desk, and spends a minute flicking it across you, then promptly produces three outfits from his dwindling stock. "These may not be perfect fits, but they will keep you from frostbite, at least. If you don't have the money for them now, I'll just take it out of your bonus when we get back. Now then... I'll need a little time to get everything ready, so let's say... first bell past dawn, day after tomorrow. Meet me at the north end of the river road."

Henri admires the clothing, the finest set he can ever remember wearing. Actually, we can probably pay for them now. I do have a few gold pieces left, and since you're covering supplies on this journey they aren't earmarked for anything else. How much do you ask for the outfits?
A bit steep, but gold won't keep me warm on the road quite as well as fur. Henri counts out the gold and replaces his newly lightened coin purse.
Henri then takes his bundle of new clothes and prepares to exit the shop. Ameretat, Wildgeist....unless there is something else you want to see in the market, I suggest we return to the inn and prepare for our journey tomorrow.
It is still early afternoon when you return to the Darkwater Run, and the common room is empty aside from its proprietor. The half-elf looks vaguely unsettled by something. "Ah, hello again. Will you be taking another night?" There's something in his expression that doesn't match his tone, and he isn't hiding it very well - all of you can easily tell that something is bothering him, and he seems to be watching you for something.

Henri does his best to pretend there is nothing odd about Darkwater's mannerisms.
Yes, we'll take the same rooms we had before, if they are available.
Henri resolves to check out any other suspicious noises he might hear this time, wondering if the innkeep's unease and the strange commotion from the night before are related.
Darkwater nods, seemingly making up his mind, and lowers his voice despite the fact that there is no one else in the room. "In that case, then, perhaps you could do me a favour? An issue has come up that I lack the resources to deal with in the proper manner, and you may be well suited to the task. I would, of course, make it worth your while. It is, however, a delicate matter, and it would need to be handled discreetly, so if you are willing, I would need your word that the circumstances would not be spoken of to anyone else."

Henri bends his head towards the half-elf, trying not to look as conspiratorial as he feels. I assure you, we are able to be very discreet. And since we do not know anyone else on this continent, secrecy is easy to maintain. Pray tell us, what troubles you so?
While Wildgeist acts as "natural as usual", he tries to be sure the four of them are really alone and also hears carefully what Mr. Darkwater has to say.

The half-elf breathes out slowly, then gestures toward the stairs. "First room on the right. Find out what happened; why, if you can. And keep the door shut."
The heavy oak door Darkwater directs you to is closed, but swings open easily as you push it, revealing a room much like the ones you stayed in. The blanket is on the floor, and the bed was obviously slept in. A heavy green woolen dress is laid across the foot of the bed, hanging overtop the chest, which is closed. A small table to the side of the room, near the open window, is covered with items; a small glass vial, stoppered, containing a faintly reddish liquid, a hand mirror of polished silver, a small open box containing several coins, and an amber amulet, all lying atop a white cloth.
And finally your gaze reaches the floor, where lies a young elven woman, still clothed in her nightdress, with her shoulders against the far wall. She is breathing, although so shallowly you nearly miss it, the slight movement of a wisp of her shoulder-length brown hair the only indication. Her eyes are half-closed, and she does not move or respond as you enter the room.

Henri bends over the unconscious elf. Curses, I wish I had prepared myself to check for poison today, but it didn't seem likely to come up. I do have a couple things I can try...
Henri casts Cure Minor Wounds on the elven woman. If nothing happens after that, he casts Detect Magic.
I had looked at that skill if it could be used that way, but it only mentioned fighting poisons, not identifying them.
That coinbox...there's something amiss with it. I don't have any formal knowledge of spellcraft to identify what incantations have been placed upon it; I don't suppose either of you would?
She's suffering from some form of paralysis - every part of her body is completely and unnaturally still, and she's barely capable of breathing. You can't tell whether it was caused by poison, though.
Spoiler
Aye, there's more detail on its uses in other books.

Henri directs his attention away from the elf and her quarters to his comrades. It's paralysis of some kind. Unless the magical aura around her coinbox is somehow related, poison seems a likely cause. Let me see if she is conscious; if so, it might be that someone or something has caused such damage to her physical abilities that it rendered her unable to move.
Spoiler
Checking to make sure her paralysis isn't related to Strength or Dexterity being knocked to 0.
Henri turns back to the elf woman, looking into her half-closed eyes. He addresses her first in Common, and then in Orc (same statement), just to be thorough.
If you can hear me, madam, please blink your eyes once, or move them in some way to give us a sign. Even if yo cannot move your mouth to speak, make any sort of subvocal noise you can manage. It will be easier to help you if you can provide us some information as to what is wrong with you through yes and no responses.
At first there is no response, but after a minute, her eyelids flutter open, revealing watery grey eyes that don't quite manage to track your face. She blinks, once, and finally manages to focus.

Henri whispers excitedly to the others. She's coming to! Madam, blink once for yes and twice for no: were you attacked? And did you know about the aura of magic surrounding your coinbox?
