Splitting the cash... six ways, was it? ... gives us each 602 gp, 3 sp, 3 cp, and leaves 1 cp left over. Now's probably not a good time to go selling loot, what with us being underground and all.
Oh, did you remember the masterwork quality on the chain shirts that's a pre-requisite for enchanting them?
The price of masterwork is considered part of the +1.
i'm looking at a monk strike that causes immobilization.. just what exactly does that mean? i cant find the actual definition of it in the srd at all. i know the literal definition.. but not what it entails for game rules

I think it means you can't move from your spot. But I'm not sure, does anyone else know?

We're at 44010 xp, right? Forgot to save my sheet before apparently after changing it. I'm pretty sure I have it right, but want to double check I'm somehow forgetting/missing something.
Four players in attendance today. Penetrated the City of the Dead, made your way past a mind-killing trap, and solved a puzzle made up of mirrors and disintegrating lasers. Then you angered an ancient mummy and defeated him by luring him into said lasers, as well as setting him on fire quite a bit.
Found his diary, which warned that Kharis might have gotten his hands on something called a "Black Scroll of Ahm", which the Grandfather Plaque dismissed as the worthless ravings of a dead mad wizard who was obsessed with the Abyss.
Also came upon a couple of Kharis' followers, who were in the process of disposing of former zombies to give their master more power. They seemed rather unsure of the whole business, seeing as some of Kharis' attempts to use said power to make more immortals haven't gone so well. Defeated them, and torched the corpses.
XP:
1 CR 5 Phantasmal Killer trap dispelled: 75 xp
1 CR 12 Mirror Puzzle solved: 900 xp
1 CR 15 Mummy Lord who I totally should have given better fire resistance: 2700 xp
2 CR 10 monks: 900 xp
Treasure:
+2 Half Plate armor (4750 gp)
Cloak of Resistance +2 (4000 gp)
Ring of Minor Energy Resistance (Fire) (12,000 gp)
Brooch of Shielding (1,500 gp)
6 Golembane Scarabs (2500 gp each)
1 large ruby (950 gp)
300 platinum pieces
2137 gold pieces

Health roll: In the next roll because derp did it wrong (also I'll totally give you a e-cookie if you roll high for me, roller)
And for everything else.... fifth level spell slots that I can't actually use any fifth level spells in, and a +1 to almost every primary stat. eh. Least there's a goodly percentage of XP towards 11th level now.

Reason: ...
Edit: Woooo!
EditEdit: Also, I'd really like the cloak of resistance unless you have even worse saves than me. No dexterity or wisdom modifier, and only a high constitution modifier which isn't a good save for me... could trade it for the +1 cloak I have now.

Hey everyone, I apologize for my absence, but it seems I'm gonna have to drop this game. My work schedule's changed on me, to where I won't be getting home until 12 to 2 PM on Saturdays because the wildlife sanctuary I work at is now opening to the public for the summer and they need tour guides.
Sorry for the inconvenience, and I hope your game goes well!
Session Closed. I'll split this into multiple posts.
After beating the monks, you found a forge where golems are crafted, including one half finished. You found a manual to create a Flesh Golem, and a few notes regarding experiments by a "Dr. G"
You ran into three of the experiments in a lab with familiar looking equipment, and they attacked. One fled from Rilath, and the others were slain.
Dr. G turned out to be Dr. Ghastly, who was abducted from his cell to help Kharis create new soldiers by channeling life force into his followers. Instead, they mutated horribly.
Ghastly agreed to help you in return for his freedom, because he wanted revenge on Kharis. Retrieved his spellbook and traveled to Kharis' abode in the astral plane.
Faced Kharis and two iron golems, with things quickly getting weird because magic could be fired off at a moment's notice in the astral plane, there was no gravity, and even the structures could be psychically commanded to attack.
Rilath got some of Kharis' blood on the Inevitable Document early on, so even though he was able to heal himself once, Kharis was slain. When he tried to return, a giant Marut appeared and dragged him off screaming to his fate.
You acquired the pyramid, some treasure (in the post below), and a mysterious black scroll. And now...you have homework to do! I'll post the scroll, and I'd like everyone to read it by next week, so you can decide what to do next.
Experience points!
3 Mutations (slightly homebrewed Abyssal Ghouls): 1800 each
Kharis and two Iron Golems: 4200 each
Story reward: 2000 each
Treasure:
Some gold, silver, and platinum ingots: 4000 gp
Masterwork Tools: 150 gp
Cloak of Resistance +3: 9000 gp
Ring of Protection +2: 8000 gp
+3 Full Plate: 10650 gp
+2 Heavy Steel Shield: 4170 gp
Numerous expensive furnishings from Kharis' lodgings: 4500 gp
Small white pyramid: no gp value, see below.
Key of Life:
Spoiler
Physical Description: a small four sided pyramid made entirely of opal, about three inches on a side. The sloped sides have small grooves that may allow it to fit together with other similar shapes objects, to form a cube. The surface is white with flecks of color.
Cosmetic Effect: When in possession of the pyramid the bearer looks unusually healthy and his eyes shine brightly. This has no game effect, it just looks cool.
Game Effects:
* The bearer cannot be harmed by negative energy. This includes Inflict spells, energy drain, and similar effects. An undead being with it can still use negative energy to heal, but can not get "too much" and explode. Undead with it are also immune to being rebuked (but not turned).
* Possessing both this pyramid and the Key of Death causes them to cancel out and have no effect.
* The bearer of this item registers as unusually full of life. Undead beings hate them on sight. Mindless undead will immediately attack unless ordered to do otherwise, and prefer the bearer over other targets. Intelligent undead can control their actions, but still despise the bearer automatically.
* This item can be used to raise the dead. By stabbing a formerly undead body with the pyramid, it becomes charged with Death energy, which it then converts into Life energy. This can then be expelled into a body to bring it back to life, as a Resurrection spell with no material components. To work, the undead drained must have at least as many HD as the subject to be raised, and only one being's power may be contained within at a time.
* The pyramid acts as an antenna that gathers and stores positive energy, and once per day this can be expelled as a Heal spell. Anyone can use this effect, even non-spellcasters. The caster level of this effect is equal to your Hit Dice, including both racial HD and class levels, because the user acts as a conduit through which the power travels.
That's basically Chapter 2 done with. As with last time, a few questions for you guys about the campaign, particularly since we have new players.
* How's the difficulty? Too easy? Too hard? Just right?
* What do you think of the story? Do you want to continue to pursue it? As the Scroll reveals, from now on you can go after whatever Key you like, so you'll have some options available. But if you'd rather jump the plot rails entirely, this would be a fine time to do so.
* We have a fair amount of combat, since all of you are mainly combat oriented builds. Is there anything else you'd like to focus on more? Social interaction, traps, and so on?
* What are your thoughts on the "Free levels" idea? Does it open up options that would otherwise be too unplayable?
* Do you feel you are advancing at about the right pace?
* Any suggestions in general? Is there a particular type of monster you'd like to face, treasure you want to acquire, setting you want to visit? Imbrius is a big place, I'm sure I can fit any special requests in somewhere. The point is to have fun, so I take these sorts of suggestions seriously.

Thankfully, my character just learned to read, so he will join in on the scroll study. On a side note, can you post the input for the strbonus property? I'm trying to make some test macros.
