Arts and CraftsThe place to talk about stick figure avatars, graphic design, fan art, or any application of the visual arts and creative writing--or just to show off your latest masterwork!
I am sorry to say this, but I found out our ship does not have free wifi. If possible could my submitting be held off until the 27th? Depending on the situation I find myself in I may not answer back to anything.

While highly enjoy writing things for the CHALLENGE, and I am planning to come back with several pieces of writing after Indonesia this summer, I have to take a break for now, as I'm taking intensive driving lessons, andwhat with my graduation coming up soon, there's bound to be parties. Sorry to disappoint, but I hope the things you've read have been enjoyable.

I'm back; let slow but regular posting commence.
As for the theme, let's see... ShadowySilence is internetless, azuyomi244 and Mindfreak have both disappeared, so in the interest of actually getting a theme, it's Lazy Genius' turn to choose
Azuyomi and Mindfreak, if you show up, you get next week.
I'll go with the theme of "Success" then, be it graduation in my case, simple success in mastering a new skill, or success in life in general. Go wild.

Sorry for my absence, I was dragged on an unexpected road trip.
I am going to have to drop out for a bit, I have a lot of stuff going on during the summer so I have to drop out again for a bit

@GrlumpTheElder: I'm sorry for being a hard-ass, but changing a detail isn't enough for something to be a new picture. Since this is likely a misunderstanding, and you did put some effort into the picture, you pass, but please only use stand-alone pictures in the future.
Sorry I got back yesterday but it was around 10 PM, not a lot of life left in me after a 13 hour drive! I am back now though and hope to upload some poems I did to pass the time while going, I will probably do that later today if that is ok (otherwise I can wait until the next round).

Sorry about that, I didn't realise - I'll do better next week
For my theme, I choose ART - nice and simple!

So as you might notice in my signature, I'm leaving tomorrow. I'm going on a trip to Indonesia, where I'll do volunteer work at a Wildlife Rescue. I'm telling you guys this because I'll be keeping a blog while on my stay there, I'm working on the first post as we speak (preparations), so I'm thinking the blog posts might be considered for the CHALLENGE. I don't expect there to be six blog posts a week, but I do expect they'll be quite a bit longer than the minimum of 250 words (even before adding the Dutch translated part), so there's a good chance that instead of 6 x 250 words, it might be something like 3 x 500 words, or 4 x 400 words, so I'm hoping that if this happens, it could be considered a 'pass' regardless.
Due to personal reasons, I will not post the link of the blog openly here, so if you want it, you can shoot me a PM.

Unfortunately, I'm going to be away for a week starting between Thursday 7th to Thurday 14th. This means that productivity is going to be down for the next two weeks. However, I will have my camera with me...
Therefore I ask you this, can photographs count as entries in the Challenge?
It will mean I don't have to sit a week out (also it gives me a reason to practice my photography...)

Ack. I'm so sorry about the way-too-late status update. It's been a crazy day around here, and somewhere along the way I completely forgot that it's Monday. I suck.
IncoherentEssay passes with regular figurines (fighters, strange designs and firepower) and a full Touhou figurine.
Glass Mouse passes with comics, two character drawings and an experimental short story.
ShadowySilence passes with five poems of various themes and a sea photo.
azuyomi244 is on standby.
Lazy Genius is on standby.
GrlumpTheElder passes with a bunch of different stuff, including origami, historical improvements and other drawings.
Tyndmyr is participating from next week.
Thus, no one FAILS this round.
IncoherentEssay, Glass Mouse, ShadowySilence and GrlumpTheElder PASS this round.
@Lazy Genius: This is possibly too late to answer, and I'm sorry. But that sounds fine, and I hope you'll have a great trip! Just send me a link to the blog when you get back
@Tyndmyr: Awesome! Throw me a link to your stuff some time before Sunday. I'm looking forward to see what you'll come up with.
@GrlumpTheElder: Photographs run the risk of being very, very easy to get away with, but if you're serious about the hobby, I don't see why not. Photograph away!

Thanks - I promise I won't just enter holiday snaps - there will be some thought that has gone into them, promise!

@Tyndmyr, that looks cool, and I'm glad you haven't disappeared
But...
1. 250 words make a piece, so you need a minimum of 1500 words to pass. Yours was 900-something, and some of those were just lists.
2. Please put up links to your stuff in advance (if you don't use a fixed place for them). Thanks.
Nifty, indeed. And voluntary, so only use them as much as you'd like.
I've only got two works so far this week, so definitely much more to do. This is significantly more challenging that I originally anticipated. Good stuff.

I am sorry, I have actually been considering leaving due to how every campaign I join seems to fall on its back within a week or two. But I couldn't just abandon the Challenge (and all of the great people involved in it), so I have decided to stay! (Although I will probably not be joining any campaigns for a long time, I am burnt out getting so prepared for them and then having them dissipate... )

2 3.5 PrCs, 1 3.5 Base Class, 1 Lego creation, photographed and placed on the internet, and 1(enough words for two) bit of writing about a fantasy town for a 3.5 setting.
I think I'd strain pretty heavily to describe those all as antique, but hey...it's a completed week.

Don't worry, I hardly stuck the theme at all, and I suggested it!
Entered with two drawings, three photographs and a video! - Hope that's ok.
Glass Mouse: I will be away most of august. Is it ok If I work really hard this week and submit to you four/five weeks worth of material in one week?

Status! But first, a confession: I just discovered that I hadn't uploaded a CHALLENGE submission that I thought I had. It's up now, but a little over deadline. Since I'd excuse this small forgetfulness with anyone else (especially if it's the first time), I thought you guys might forgive me for it, too, and let me keep my streak.
IncoherentEssay passes with post-apoc survivors, ragequitting Atlas, a hobgoblin and a joke figurine.
Glass Mouse passes with comics, a witchhunter and two talking characters.
ShadowySilence passes with sea photographs galore (a little late to that theme, eh? ).
GrlumpTheElder passes with an antique vase, a planet, various photograps and the CHALLENGE's first video.
Tyndmyr passes with a lego creation, a bunch of D&D 3.5 classes (also the CHALLENGE's first, I believe) and some writing about a town.
@ShadowySilence: I'm glad you decided to stay! I know it's likely too late now, but why haven't you submitted those campaigns you've worked on? D&D stuff works for Tyndmyr
Also, blergh. Dying gaming groups suck.
@Tyndmyr: Thanks a lot for clarifying your submissions. Otherwise, that'd get complicated really fast
And don't worry about the theme, it's not a prerequisite to pass. I only indirectly followed it myself (would've liked to follow it more, though, it's a cool theme).
@GrlumpTheElder: I'd rather you brought it with you and submitted four weeks worth of material afterwards. While your ambition is admirable, a month's break isn't really in the spirit of the CHALLENGE.
Being on standby as I am, I thought it would be nice to note that for the last couple of weeks I've kept a blog with about two posts a week, each probably around a thousand words or so (two pages). Excluding the pictures this should give me enough for the weeks I've been on standby, I think?3 weeks @ 2,000 words each = 6,000 words
6 works/week @ 250 words each, for three weeks = 4,500 words
This is a rough estimate, but I think I'm well over the minimum regardless.
I've sent you the blog link via PM, haven't I, Glass Mouse?
