Arts and CraftsThe place to talk about stick figure avatars, graphic design, fan art, or any application of the visual arts and creative writing--or just to show off your latest masterwork!
In that case, please put me on standby, as I will be away for the best part of two months.
I'll make it up to you with a veritable treasure trove of photographic delights and artistical pleasures to delight even the most philistinic of you upon my return.

@Everyone: Tomorrow's status update may be late as I might be unable to get to a PC before evening. Expect status no later than 11 PM GMT, and that's worst case (if I can't borrow somewhere).
@Tyndmyr: Weee.
@Lazy Genius: That's not really how standby is supposed to work, but I see I didn't specify that anywhere, so all right. Good job on writing!
And yeah, I've got the link
@GrlumpTheElder: Haha, I'm defintely in the anticipant group!
And for the record, standby is not supposed to be any more than "I'm out for a while, but I intend to reenter soon-ish". So anything done while on standby don't count, and you still lose your streak if you go on standby. Just clearing that up for the future
A good theme (imo) is fairly open-ended, but not simply something you can tack on to something as a descriptor.
Hear, hear!

What's the procedure for when I update? Do I need to PM Glass Mouse at the end of each theme?
Awesome! Welcome to the CHALLENGE
As long as your updates are easy to find (aka uploaded to the link you've provided), I'll find it on my own. Throw me a PM if you've made special stuff or something you don't want to upload to DA, but other than that, no worries
Only if you ask very, very nicely and submit your application in three identical copies.
Or give us a link to your stuff. That works too.
Oh, what if I don't have a specific place to put my stuff? What if I put some on GitP, some on Tumblr, some on Google Docs, and some on Facebook? Should I just like make a thread on GitP and start putting all my stuff there?

Yeah. Either collect everything in one or two spots, or make a habit of sending me a PM with links every week. Whatever's easier for you (I'd recommend a gitp thread, because there's a chance for feedback)
IncoherentEssay passes with 4-6 fanart figurines (one for Taskmaster, one for Fallout: New Vegas, one for Puella Magi Madoka Magica, and one "fan"art with touches of Magicka), plus golems.
Glass Mouse passes with an OC meme full of drawings, plus a Darken fanart.
Lazy Genius uploaded a blog entry.
GrlumpTheElder is on standby until ultimo September.
Tyndmyr didn't upload anything. You still in?
Mad Mask passes with three Frogman & Dinotron fanarts, a Remember (OoTS fan comic) fanart, plus two more drawings.
Lil Shiro uploaded three drawings and two poems.
Thus, Lazy Genius, Tyndmyr and Lil Shiro FAIL this round.
IncoherentEssay, Glass Mouse and Mad Mask PASS this round. Off to a good start, Mad
Pity, I had a blog post I was going to post this morning, but I didn't get to it, as I needed to finish writing it first.
In keeping with the blog entry that I have since posted, the theme is "Hello, Goodbye" Since I am now no longer regularly writing my blogs, I have no real way to get to my quota of writing done anymore, at least not a reliable way, so if you could come up with something that would be awesome.

I'm back; let slow but regular posting commence.
Oh yeah, sorry. Been kinda out of it for a few weeks. Back in this week, I promise at least interesting screenshots of things.
Edit: Also, what about milestones on larger projects? I have many things that I work on, but could not even theoretically finish in a week. Is that a thing?

...now I have to find a way to ink my drawings without them looking awful.

I don't really get this one. You mean the Beatles song?

"Hello, Goodbye" was the title of my last blog (as well as the beatles song), but basically the theme is first meetings and departures, like 'hello' and 'goodbye' respectively.
I can't come up with something to write for the CHALLENGE, so if there's somebody that could come up with something to write about, I heartily invite them to voice their thoughts and set me on the right track.

Oh no! I forgot I had to do six! I thought it was only five!
Now I have to start all over making six poems every week.
This is awfully late, Shiro, and I'm sorry, but we actually had this exact situation once before (with someone forgetting that it's 6 pieces... in the second week, too), and if we have to follow precedens, I'll say "upload seven pieces this week, and you get to keep your streak."
But since I'm a derp who answers late, make seven pieces this OR next week, and it'll be fine.

For writing, it's 250 words a piece. For drawn works, every sufficiently detailed character and background counts as a separate piece.
If your more "involved" works span more than one week, just make sure you finish six pieces a week. That's what I do, at least.
Is that answer enough?

Until now, every comic page has counted as a piece. But I guess if each panel is distinct (no copy-pasta) and sufficiently detailed, they would count.
I wouldn't count my comic's pages as more than one, since they're done quickly - or our previous comiceer's, since there are huge amounts of copy-pasta.
But I guess it depends on general skill level and conscience.

This works...I have a novel with thousands of words in, for instance...and I routinely code large things. I suppose I can count up code as words...it's a bit more difficult, but should still be reasonable.
This week's stuff includes some game graphics and a couple of articles totaling about 2000 words. That's a solid win for this week.

Okay, I have work all day, all week, but I will try to get the seven pieces done.
Could you include all the works you've done and linked in a week, in one post? It's pretty difficult to navigate the opening post. Thanks

Sorry, Shiro, but you failed last week, so there isn't really a streak to keep up anymore. But feel more than free to get back in the fight, anyway!
Also, IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!
Due to a small sommer vacation this week's status update will be late. Expect it Monday night or Tuesday morning GMT-ish. I'm sorry about that, but I'll be completely without internet until that time.
Deadline is Sunday as usual, though, so your planning won't be messed up
