Not really--someone looking at it from outside without knowing Wanda's thoughts might take it that way, but it's pretty clear *she* sees nothing erotic about this. She's not like Tsukiko who really *loves* the undead...

As for Xin, sad news about her mother.

I don't see it as erotic, neither creepy. It's a coarse and vulgar soldiers' song, meant to scandalize the fresh and pretty new girl.
If it was a sort of test for her, Wanda passed it.

I don't think we're talking about the song, we're talking about Wanda undressing and admiring a corpse...

Yeah, that was the creepy part. Sure Wanda isn't going to bone the corpse but she does want to get naked and she lays down to sleep next to it with it "watching" her. I find the whole 'lovely Wanda wants to get naked' part to be needless erotism but that might just be me. It doesn't really add anything.

Wanda is stone cold. The way I see it she has no emotions. We know she don't laugh. She don't cry either. The only thing that motivates her is a kind of professional curiousity.

This reminds me of the time I worked at a supermarket. The butchers there had a special kind of humour. One time they took the eyes of a pig, put them in a plastic tray and shrink-wraped them up like normal and put it in the meat desk. So when the customers looked down at the meat, the meat looked back at them. Then some customers complained and they got yelled at by the manager.

This kind of behavior is actaully a sort of defence mechanism. If they didn't have a way of distancing themselves from teh situation they would have a great deal of trouble doing the job if they could do it at all. Might even lead to some sort of mental trama.

Oh Wanda. You and your unspeakably creepy laughter.

Also, something was dropped earlier in the episode: corpses can be saved from depopping, but they have to be taken out of the hex they were croaked in in such a way as to be "claimed" (Shenanigans-sense...tingling!) by a side. I wonder if Parson knows/cares/has forgotten about this.

I think she still can--one of the original Erfworld strips shows all the main characters at night, and Wanda is asleep with a little doll in her arms and a blissful smile on her face. No idea what she was actually dreaming to bring on the smile, mind you, and I'm not sure I *want* to know!

I'm not sure... I would argue that, since Misty died in the Capitol hex, there was nothing stopping her body from depopping, underground and unnoticed, next turn. Parson, not ruthless enough at this point to eschew his morals just to test a theory (which might not have occurred to him anyway), didn't order her body disinterred. Given that his area of direct influence was stuck in Gobwin Knob's capitol (see: his tactics during the Battle for Gobwin Knob), with occasional tastes of outside influence (see: the Dwagon Donut Trap), it's doubtful that this mechanic would have come up in the first place. Wanda would not have seen a reason to tell him about this (although it might have been mentioned during the Pre-BfGK cram session) as it would be useless for any but a non-garrison unit.

To be specific, Parson knows about corpses because Sizemore told him (link).

"He's fairly convinced I'm batboop crazy now, since corpses which aren't uncroaked or moved just disappear at the start of the next turn."

Are you referring to this page? Because she doesn't seem to be smiling there.

Oh yeah, I'd forgotten about that. However, it doesn't look like Sizemore told him about the "claiming" thing. I'm still seeing possible shenanigans behind that word though. The Harvest Incident's made me paranoid.

I don't think she has. The update says that the Overlord doesn't really know about casters and thus leaves them in Delphie's hands--delegation to people who know what they're doling!

Actually, thinking about it, that would certainly explain why she's so anxious that Wanda should stay within easy reach of the capital at all times, because that's where the Magic Kingdom portal will be!
Actually, the suggestion was that she lied because if the overlord had known his warlord was gonna be a caster, he would have canceled the creation order and instead popped troops instead... or if possible cancel the current warlord creation order(which was gonna be a caster) to start a new one to try and get a warlord... the overlord was willing to sacrifice to get a new warlord, but NOT a caster.

Delphie explained that Wanda's fate was VERY important, more important than goodmitten itself, and thus wanted to make certain that wanda would pop even at the risk of harming goodmitten. If she told the overlord the truth, wanda may have never have come into existence.

No you see delphie uses the fact that the overlord knows nothing about magic to manipulate him. She keeps him in the dark about magic to make sure he will never question her and thus she can bend him to her will... much like how she handled the whole situation with wanda. That's how Wanda views their relationship anyway...

While this is true, it is only true to the extent that the person who knows what they're doing doesn't lie to the person in charge when asked to explain something - or if they need to for simplification purposes, to state that up front. Delphie has done none of this, and instead has inflated her own purpose, Wanda's purpose, and the stature of casting in general to make sure she's in a position to pull shenanigans like "Wanda's going to be a warlord, don't you worry." To be a bit clearer, both Tommy and Overlord Firebaugh trust her too much for their own good, and you can bet that she's the one who made it so.

EDIT: Nice little quote here: "[Delphie] wanted to be wise and mysterious and not to be questioned." This should make it clear, I think.

New update. Jeez Delphie's creepy. I think she, more than any character thus far, can conceivably be called the "Villain" of Inner Peace.
