Yes but faq was not able to produce new croatan members... and that's what i meant about more than one tribe in a side.
For instance... If jetstone were to take over GK, but not rebuild the city so that the city would continue to produce GK-type units instead of jestone units... then would the infantry that would pop from that city be members of the jetstone tribe, or the plaid tribe?
Probably Plaid. If any of them cared about Stanley (and they might not, he was pretty incompetent as a "father to his men") they'd resent their new Jetstone overlords, but Duty would compel them to act in service to their side.
That's what I'm thinking too. Pretty cold of Olive when you think about it. Just shows that she is full of BS. And they had this planned all along. Keep Goodmintons forces tied up, then whack the capital...After extorting the money first, of course. Who gets Goodmintons capital, I wonder?
And how is Wanda supposed to survive this??? Most casters can flee through the portal to the magic kingdom, but won't she be disbanded of the capital falls?

Yes... this prequel is certainly doing a good job of describing how Wanda ended up the fatalistic, unhinged control freak she is books 1 and 2. Mind you, the way Erfworld works isn't exactly beneficial for anyone's mental health.

Next turn, the her group gets attacked by haffaton, and she is captured

First, she is not a royal. as you can tell by her father's title of "overlord", her side is non royal side... second, the only way she would become a barbarian is if the side lives on without the capital; like if her father manages to escape, if their was an heir in the field, or if she herself was an heir... with no heir/ruler, all units including herself out in the field disbands
Jillian survived as a barbarian because she was the heir to faq, so technically her side never completely ended... and her mounts survived as barabians aswell because they were part of her side and she was still supporting their upkeep
Can casters be heirs or is it only warlords? If yes, do they keep their powers when they move up?
I don't think casters can be heirs, at least we have not heard of such a thing. Or did they talk about Wanda starting her own side at spacerock the city at one point?

No, that was just a whole lot of speculation that was going around at the time... currently we do not have evidence one way or the other whether or not caster's can become heirs/rulers

So overlord Firebaugh probably can't use the treasury to make Wanda heir. Goodminton is screwed and Wanda probably WILL end up working for Olive after all. We kind of knew that already.

Well the screwing of Goodminton was pretty much inevitable once it was confirmed that they were part of the (lost) Croatan tribe. All that remained was to see how they wrere lost.
BUT, that doesn't answer the big question, which is how Wanda ends up in a bubble kingdom that was, apparently, unknown even to other casters (so unlikely to be inter-connected via the Magic Kingdom)

Unless of course O;ive and FAQ's as yet unnamed predictamancer are one and the same.

The first, yes.
THe second... who knows? maybe Wanda will end killing Olive.
No. Remember, Wanda is a hardcore Fatalist in the main comic. That means that all the major predictions in her past came true -- if she was able to escape her fate of having Olive as her chief warlord for a long long time, she wouldn't believe that fighting fate was futile.
She might kill Olive eventually, of course. But only after Olive has been her chief warlord for many, many, many turns.
The Atlas is also goofy but it has that whole "Stay Puft Marshmallow Man" menacing smile thing going for it. The guy who drew that one up was obviously taken to the Nutcracker when he was a child... and he was screaming in terror the entire time.

It's weird. Wanda was one of the main cast characters I didn't have a mental voice/accent for in my head, but now with this picture of her and Tommy, I can't help but picture the 'Goodminton accent' as a Russian dialect.
