Even when Wanda betrayed Faq to Stanley, she did it because she thought Banhammer and his troops would be able to defeat Stanley and she'd get the hammer. It wasn't betrayal as much as bad strategy.
It wasn't even bad strategy -- the only reason Stanley survived is because, for some reason, an unusual number of Dwagons popped in his path on the way to Faq. Nobody knows why yet, but it's possible that someone with the power to interfere with pop rates (the same way no Gobwins are popping near Gobwin knob right now) made it happen.
Impossible! it would take some kind of commercial genius to....

What is the "little battle" that Parson is referring to in 49?

The plan to use Jillian as a bait for Ansom - dwagons were already deployed nearby and Parson found out, how to use them on their next turn (destroy selectively siege units).

I'm really worried for Caesar now. Tramennis is going to pull through just fine, even though Spacerock's a goner, but it's too bad that Caesar's king hasn't been forced into gaining the kind of perspective Slately just had thrust on him. I mean, both princes only have their side's preservation in mind, which is what you want in a king, but the Don doesn't have any reason to see that right now. I think the only way Caesar's going to escape the Don's vengeance now is if he kills him first or gets turned or Decrypted.
Now that'd be something if a vampire could be Decrypted.
I doubt most of them could even want to rebel, let alone actually doing it. Units, especially units popped for the side and not converted, have a strong loyalty to their ruler. They can get away with disputing an order if it's for the ruler or the side's own good, but rebel against the king? Very few units are going to have that low a loyalty stat.
While I normally would agree with you, it seems to me that, on this occasion, they're more loyal to the side, rather than the ruler.
They were disputing an order, or were they saying that they were going to disobey openly?

Ceasar isn't a prince, he's just a noble. That's his problem. Don has ordered a new (royal) heir and apparently has already tried to sent Ceasar into a trap. Ceasar's position might actually have been improved. He now the confirmation that the warlords and two of the casters are behind him. That's something to build on.

In about half an hour I'll regret what I wrote above. But right now I think it's funny.

I was under the impression Ceasar wasn't even noble, and was just a warlord who had risen up in the ranks while Don was still not wholly on board with the royalty thing.

I believe in the summer updates ceasar refers to himself as "barely noble"... he was popped as a viscount which is pretty low when it comes to nobility. If i looked it up correctly, the only european rank below viscount would be baron... there are some ranks below that, but they tend to be exclusive to certain countries so they are not as universal
So a very minor noble that has risen up through the ranks through skill on the battlefield.
Did anyone else feel just really sad for Don in that last panel? I thought the facial expression was very well done there.
Yeah, my exact comment on that panel on the official forums was "heartbreaking"

Personally, I find Bunny's expression in Panel 9 just as wrenching, though less noticed. I get the feeling that she's really the only one to understand what is really going on for everyone, and she's just completely torn between it all.
She knows Caesar's fears, for himself and for his kingdom, how he has been betrayed.
She knows what Don is having to go through right now, why this is so hard for him, and why he made the order in the first place.
And now she's watching them clash against each other and the kingdom crumble between them. There's no happy ending in there for her. Not at all.
But seriously, I suspect he's a member of the GMWTA.

Oops. Looks like Slately is going to die in the ruins of the tower...hopefully Tramennis can keep going as a barbarian if his men can get him out of there, though! (Unless Charlie decides to provide the schmuckers to promote him to Heir Apparent).

He'd have to be heir to do that. If the ruler dies with no heir, all units in the field just vanish and all units in cities go into stasis. Barbarians happen when the capital dies with no replacement but the ruler or heir survives. Jillian was FAQ's heir, and that's why she was able to go barbarian when FAQ fell.
This is in fact half the point of his characterization.

Well, our mysterious uninvited guest, it's clearly George Harrison. I don't trust him (and yes, I'm worried), but maybe we're in the camp of the "getting by with a little help of my friends"...

On the Erfworld forum there's an interesting theory. He could be one of Queen Bea's former casters, sent to the MK to help the royal side. It that's true, the target could be Wanda
