So I learned about this crazy detailed space empire game named
Aurora 4x from a forum Lets-Play.
For those of you not familiar with the game think Dwarf Fortress. In space. Played on the
world galactic map. Managing multiple
trade caravans fully customizable ship fleets and multiple
fortresses planetary colonies rather than individuals. All in lots of detail. From what I've seen so far the learning curve is taller than Dwarf fortress's, but less steep.
After playing it for a week my #1 thought is: "This would make a fantastic succession game"
I figure things would be more interesting with about 5 players each taking 2 year turns each coming back a decade later to see how things have changed and who's re-named what asteroid after themself. Maybe a conventional start too in the spirit of Dwarf Fortress FUN, but with double normal starting research facilities and TransNeutonian already pre-researched to keep the start from being too slow.
Any takers?
