Zagan: setting specific feats might be okey depending on what they do. could you copy-paste what you want to take?
-------------------- (copy paste original post) -------------
You know, I do have a new idea.
Just a while ago I DMed a one-shot adventure with a few friends that turned out to be really a great game. I have all the plot and sheets done and ready... would you like to revive it in PbP?
It should be a short game (players made it in a single in-day-game) whit rather large amount of some investigation at the start and a few combats by the end. Since what takes most of my time is making and updating the maps and NPC rolls, PCs investigation should be easy for me to handle (does not take so much of my time) so it should not hinder this present game (nor the other worldly events of my life)..
Also, I'm kind of (very) curious to see how different groups tackle the same quest. I might just run this adventure over and over again to different people over the years.
here's the specifics (shortened 16 questions)
- ECL 6 (yes, you can take Zagan's templates or a different race)
- Standard wealth by level (13k), 32 point buy, max hp/HD. Here's the introductory scene
- It is suposed to be much more simple than our Slaves game (lesser number and variety enemies, less world exploration, less "thick" plot, and the plot actually ends at a point but continuity is possible)
- DM does not control any kind of PC to help you, and I won't be giving free hints. you're on your own!
-------------------------------------------
You're between adventures at the city of Jeba, west of the Realm of Jalavia, having your beer-for-breakfast. This particular city is well habitated by adventurers, mercenaries and freelancers, since the Duque of Jeba often rellies on paid mercenary work rather than delegate issues for commisioners, secretaries, and other nobleman. Your breakfast is interrupted by someone who enters the Tavern of the Old Gus... The Duque's right hand and cusin, The well-known ex-mercenary Serjon, who is the best contract filler in the region. He usually finds appropriate workers for whatever mission the duque has to issue. half the tavern's costumers greet him from afar, and then he comes to join you at your table with a simile on his face.
--------- who's in?

Noted for the flaws and trait.
I'm for now working on a dragonborn dwarf sorcerer focused on using his breath weapon and I'm interest in taking the least dragonmark feat (ECS p56). Chosing the mark of warding (the only one aviable to dwarf) granting arcane lock as a spell-like ability 1/day at CL 1 and a +2 on search check.
Mostly it's to met the prereq of the breath of syberis feat (Dragonmarked p135) that give +1d6 dmg to breath weapon.
For now I'm only exploring my option.
EDIT: Don't bother about dragonmark, it turn out that dragonborn can't qualify for it. I'll look for something else.

Bakc to the draxing board, I can't find a way to make my dragonborn sorcerer work the way I want. I'm not asking for a super optimized character but it need to least be effective.

can't you take your own draconic templates and just put it on a sorc?
(I'm considering starting you all at level 7. what do you think?)

I've decided on my concept, I'll play an Azurin incarnate focused on melee combat.
Two question for my fellow player:
What's your alignement ? If you could be lawful you could gain a few benefit from some of my class feature so if it's doesn't interfer with your build or backstory try to consider it.
Second thing if any of you have acces to healing effect Incarnate have a few trick to multiply their effect (out of combat only, very impractical in combat) so I just like to know to better chose my soulmeld before the adventure. thanks
Beshoren: There's one homebrew feat that I'll like to take (of my own creation) I've copy paste it here, tell me if you allow it please.
Spoiler
Enhanced Incarnum Weapon [Incarnum]
You can increase the connection of your Incarnate weapon with an alignment increasing it’s power. Prerequisite
Con 13, Ability to shape the Incarnate Weapon soulmeld, Incarnum radiance. Benefit
Once per day, you can invest essentia into this feat. Upon investing essentia into this feat you must choose one or more weapon special property from the list below, some of them are restrict to a particular alignment, each property cost a certain amount of essentia to be invested into this feat, the chosen property apply only to your Incarnate Weapon soulmeld. I'm still working on my character but I don't have much time right now sadly.
A quick rulling question for beschoren (in addition to the previous one):
It's about the shape soulmeld feat. For a non-meldshaper it give the ability to shape one soulmeld but for a meldshaper does it gives the ability to shape one additional soulmeld or does it simply add the soulmeld chosen to it's list and then it must use one of it's soulmeld "slot" to shape it ?

I'm taking a look on soulmeds and will awnser Zagans questions soon (I thnk 'im more likely to agree)
Edit: well, i think the shape sloumeld feat only allows you to add the soulmeld to your list. you can check on RAW and show it if you want.
on your homebrew... are those enancements permanent for the day? what will be your limit? if you want to use class/build features to have a +2 wepons it's ok, but a +3 wepon will be too much for lv 7

The raw is not very clear that's why I was asking. But we'll go with your rulling it's not a probleme.

They are permanent for the day but they require me to invest essentia into it (that I might need in my soulmeld) and there is a cap of essentia that depend on my level, for now it's 2 (3 if I spent yet another feat to improve it).
So for now I can only have a +2 property.
EDIT: I've finally managed to advance on my character sheet. Not finished but nearly so. I've assumed that since we get 7th lvl character we get 7th lvl WBL (19k), tell me if I've wrong.
You may noticed that I've got a belt of strength +2 instead of gauntlet and bracers of dex +2 instead of gloves, it's more convenient for my character because of the rules concerning soulmeld and I used the rule in the MIC for that. If you don't like just say so and I'll change it.
No backstory, name and still missing two feats but I present you Azurin incarnate.

wealth is correct
so currently you will be having a +2 wepon equivalent or a +3 wepon equivalent?
(starting soon!)

I will have a weapon with a equivalent bonus betwen +1 and +5.
On one side I will have the property from the feat with a max of +2 (from a limited list) and in addition to that I will be able to invest essentia in the soulmeld itself to give it an enhancement bonus (and only the bonus) betwen +1 and +3.
Most of the time I will have a +3 frost longsword.
You need to keep in mind that I have a very limited pool of essentia. 7 from level, 1 from race, 2 from a feat and depending on feat choice perhaps 2 more.
That mean a max of 12 but I have 5 soulmeld and 3 feat to invest that into. If I improve my offense on one side I lose something else on the other side and vice versa.

important: this one group adventured toghether at least once, most likely killing many orcs in a scort, incursion, or strategic point defense
Zagan may have his homebrew feat afterall. I'm not sure i inderstood all the incarnum thing, but he's the only really melle guy and is no getting powerfull wepons for free.

Beguiler just makes me wish we used Pathfinder skill set. Stupid 3.5 skills. I just want more!
not this time buddy
also, chimera: you may have undead orcs and your horse under you control as normal for your level. We consider you risen them before. still, you need to pay the material component of 25 gp per HD
walking arround with a lot of certain undead, even if allowed, might call a lot of attention and prejudice. be prepared to handle this if you decide to pay for a undead court.

Thank you, I promise you it's not overpowered. (well it's not supposed to be) If in game it turn out as too powerful, I'll retrain it of course.
I'll try to finish my sheet as soon as possible.

I already considered the cost for the undead horse in my sheet, but I'll wait to get some nice high HD orc or something. By nw I'm happy with Hollowheart (my undead horse).
Banshrae wears a necklace, earings and wristlets of onix (1000 gp worth) to animate dead when she need and also look beautiful
Also, she is completely disrepectful about death and undeath: she would raise a husband in front of the widow and say: "Look: almost intact, this one will be a good companion... Oh wait, what the hell are trying to do? does 'Till death' make any sense for you?"
Some descriptions of her:
Spoiler
Banshrae is a young and cute woman with long dark hair and pretty blue eyes. She wears a bone-like full plate armor and a black velvet cloak. Her black hair and vestments goes on contrast with her bone-white skin and armor. She wears earings, necklace and wristlets of onyx.
Always pessimist and saying grim things, she shows no hint of respect for the dead and thing of death as just another daily stuff and feel confused when someon is sad because a belovedone died recently.
She likes pretty things.
The tormented spirits are always around her even when she doesn't called them, since they hold a grudge of how they're used for her porposes. Sometimes she got some undead companions with her as bodyguards and company to avoid loneless. She have a skeleton horse that she calls Hollowheart.
Her morbid sense of humor and lack of respect for the deads gives her some trouble she seems not to understand.
"Why are you mad at me? I can't see your point: she's dead and is only good for making undead now, right?"

- find the princess quickly and without raising a fuss
- the longer it takes, the worse the reward gets
- people should not be aware that the princess got herself in another scandall
- avoid killing Giliatti
- you don't have any royal authority (you can't bash doors shouting "open this in the name of the king") (well, you can, but that would be a lie)
