Its just 5 feet though, so only blocking our sight of him. I thought it might help to confuse him and now he can't see how many there are of us right away.

Yeah, but you know what? I think I'll be a good bard and start singing. It should confuse the poor guy even more.

If it didn't seem like he had already pissed himself before coming here I'd say he might do that now.

Do I roll damage with the rolls or wait for confirmation of hitting?

Oops, sorry GoodbyeSoberDay, didn't see your post.
Arillius, you can roll attack and damage together. If it doesn't hit, you may disregard the damage with no harm done. That's how I've seen it done in all pbps I've played in, at least (and how I planned to do here, if SanguinePenguin doesn't have objections.).

1. What's a power animal?
2. I can't seem to find what we agreed on for initiative. What do we do?
3. Am I correct in assuming diplomacy counts as Beriadan's turn?

1) A power animal is a joke mostly (a reference to the bizarre penguin scene in Fight Club). The way I've lettered this now is so tedious that it would be much more simple for me, for instance, to make Beriadan a sea turtle and move him around the map. It seem MapTool doesn't have letters implemented in a straight forward manner though. I'm looking into a way around that. I can do it one way, but then the letters are on a blocky background. I should have a new solution in a few hours though.

2) Ah, for now initiative is, one side goes then the other side goes. I may change this. Generally, I would have you roll so that it is whoever is fast among the good guys goes, then all bad guys, then good again, then bad... I've found this speeds combat up immensely. In this case, since combat began in such a confusing fashion (for instance the zombie badger is still obeying his dig command) I decided to just have the PCs go, then the bad guys.

3) Yes, you are correct. Though, the diplomacy check is effectively wasted (for many reasons). A few of these are that Nicholas is raining down arrows, while you are just telling him you don't WANT to hurt him. All the while, some crazy man singing an uplifting tune and Vanalya is talking to him at the same time as you, so he is having trouble listening to either of you. Plus, there is smoke in his lungs. Frankly, he is too terrified at the moment to view the party as anything except for psychopaths that are attacking him.

Ah, I haven't seen Fight Club in a while. Sea turtle sounds awesome, though, since it reminds me of an anthropomorphized turtle killing things with a sword, which in turn reminds me of TMNT.

Looks like I'm waiting for Sulet, the undead, and Basel to go.

Just went. I swear, this guy is my favorite character I play, as useless in combat as he will probably be.

Is it okay if Vanalya uses her next turn to yell at the party for scaring Basel? And her, but she's not about to admit that right now...and I assure you, the moment I posted, I was kinda going 'guys, Diplomacy, learn it, use it, not trying to kill our only lead from fright here...'

I don't think it's fright that's going to kill our lead.
I think it might be the arrow.
Unless the arrow is named Fright.
Then in which case, Fright is definitely going to kill our lead.

The arrow did not hit him, it hit the ground at his feet. So unless someone else picks it up its not going to kill him

It seemed like our man Basel could control them - and maybe let us destroy them at our leisure - but the point is academic. The current commotion creates a good learning experience, and maybe some drama to help explore different character relationships. It also lets Beriadan smite a badger, which is good even though it's not so irritable any more.

My, my! Vanalya is lucky! Sulet? Not so much. Still, 3 damage isn't bad at all.

You can spend your turn however you please, but, personally, I'd wait until after the fray. I agree with GBSD though, good RP opportunities!

Both skeletons are listed as attacking [VJ], and the Badger is too far away to hit me.

I'm a little hazy on charge rules (and if I'm right Beriadan can't charge the badger anyway), so I think I'm just going to move and attack. I'll note here that the movement is J12 (start) --> I12 (1 square) --> H11 (1 square) --> G10 (2 square). If the badger has reach he gets an AoO on that last bit of movement, which Beriadan will eat. If he gets hit hard he'll heal himself, which I'll roll in another OOC post if necessary.

Agh, the "within 60 seconds" rule got me and ate my dice rolls. I'll do them here.

Attack: (1d20+10)[27]
Damage: (2d4+12)[19]

Normally I would roll critical threat stuff, but yeah.

If you attempt to make two posts within 60 seconds of each other, the forum basically says "No" and makes you wait 60 seconds to make your post, eliminating the rolls in the process. This is likely to prevent spamming.

@Cardea: Skeleton 2 (or whatever). My apologies, I made a typo in the post, I wanted it in order of the attack listing. It was the 18 to hit for 3 damage.

@Ajadea: So mechanically, he is currently hostile toward the party. Her potent diplomacy roll will drop him to unfriendly, but that is supposed to take a minute of constant contact. I'll let you keep your monster roll, but you will have to chase him, shouting for about a minute, then he may hear you out.

@GBSD: No reach.

@All: In a spoiler please list your movements, i.e. which square you end on, and, if relevant (i.e. to avoid AoOs) how you got there.

Fun. Fine . She's chasing him. She should be able to keep up anyways. Patience is a virtue she learned very quickly. The lecture on not attacking people randomly can wait until the undead die.

Is it just me, or is it really funny that the youngest member here is about ready to start scolding people who are somewhere between 9 and 15 years older than her like she would scold her little brother?

It appears one can no longer make rushed diplomacy checks at -10 in PF. This is probably for the better.

To clarify, you would prefer that we specify our movement (1) in the IC thread instead of the OOC thread, and (2) square by square, correct?

Edit: Whaddya know, Beriadan isn't the youngest at 16. Must have skimmed the top part of the sheet before...
