Re: [Hourglass of Zihaja D&D 4e] Heroes on a Sea of Swords OOC
I think we already have a plan even if it's done instinctively: Rahman, Kihtsah and Hakhpur are holding back the wyverns and snake-men while Medinah and Amirah take charge of the ghost and Teshiq supports both sides.
It's not a perfect strategy, but I think it's the best we can do to protect the ship's passengers, unless the people down want to lead the ghost up here...

Re: [Hourglass of Zihaja D&D 4e] Heroes on a Sea of Swords OOC
It's also not a bad immediate strategy when our pre-planning phase consisted of KABOOM!
Although man, I wish I had lightning lure or something so I could mess with those flying guys a little better. At least I have Rahman mark the things to keep them focused.

Re: [Hourglass of Zihaja D&D 4e] Heroes on a Sea of Swords OOC
Roger Khitsah does not need healing, redirected at myself then to top off. Still got another use for the encounter... realizing now how short range powers and a slow speed is pretty limiting gonna have to retrain a feet or something next level.
Re: [Hourglass of Zihaja D&D 4e] Heroes on a Sea of Swords OOC
Planning Enemy Phase now. Medinah learns neither the duration of the Darkness spell nor the location of the Ghost. Also, A'den, I would really, really advise that you save your heals for when people are bloodied or nearly unconscious - using one of the only two you have just to top off is wasteful.

Re: [Hourglass of Zihaja D&D 4e] Heroes on a Sea of Swords OOC
Slightly seconded. Rahman has several backup heals (to take care of himself and/or one other), but they're all daily powers, so I mostly used mine to get Khitsah back up above bloodied, and so you could keep yours for people below.

Duly noted (damnit!)
EDIT: And, of course, if y'all have not noticed yet, Enemy Phase is Up. Maps are done, just need to be uploaded. Begin planning phase now, I guess - I think some coordination is in order.

Re: [Hourglass of Zihaja D&D 4e] Heroes on a Sea of Swords OOC
I plan to use the Foe Stone on the ghost before adding more actions to my list. It'd be useful if I learn the vulnerabilities and the lowest defense of the child before attacking.

Won't work - the Foe Stone require you to see the target, the which you cannot . Also, maps are up. Enjoy. And I forgot one thing - the cowering merchant guard with the splintered club next to Hakhpur was killed by the ghost's breath weapon.

Re: [Hourglass of Zihaja D&D 4e] Heroes on a Sea of Swords OOC
I guess I can't be sure until I see the new map, not knowing where the new darkness zone will be, but will Medinah have line of sight up through the hole in the deck from where she's standing?
Edit: Ninja'd. Looks like that's going to be a "no".
Re: [Hourglass of Zihaja D&D 4e] Heroes on a Sea of Swords OOC
Maps are up. No she will not, since the ghost basically planted her globe this time right in the hole, effectively plugging it. Medinah could, if she wanted, blow up some crates to make a new hole and teleport up through that, if she wanted .

Are we out of the darkness, though? Can we see? The map suggest otherwise, that we are still (except my dying wolf) inside the sphere.

I see. Then I'll use the stone on the priest.

Tempting, but I think I'll just have her run back out using the walls as a guide. She jumped over that hole below deck, so she should know to jump back.

Ah, ok, got it now. I have to remind myself that in 4E, a "globe" of darkness is actually a cube.
Also, and far more important, a DM-houserule question about summons. My summons don't have healing surges, but can use Amirah's if needed. Could I use a standard action to have a summon use their second wind? The issues are: it's not clear that a summon has a second wind, and that there is such order as "take a second wind". On the other hand, the rule about using summoner's healing surges is written flexible enough it could allow it, so it's up to you.

I'll allow it. Also, A'den, can you specify the bottom left and top right corners of your area attack? That makes it easier for me to tell what squares it hits. Thanks.

Re: [Hourglass of Zihaja D&D 4e] Heroes on a Sea of Swords OOC
Not sure how the stairwell affects the blast but it should be G10 to B15 Above Deck and fives squares up so from my spot half way up the stairs its four up from the deck surface.

G10 to B15 is a 6x5 rectangle. I think you have to pick between rows B-F or rows C-G. Which would you prefer? (Just means basically that you can hit one or the other rider/mount pair).
EDIT: And Hakhpur cannot see the archer you want to target past the Globe of Darkness, so I am, as you requested, redirecting that @ the Priest.

Re: [Hourglass of Zihaja D&D 4e] Heroes on a Sea of Swords OOC
Did those of us up top see the ghost appear where she currently is before she cast the darkness again? If so, I'm thinking to take a stab in that square.

You did push the ghost. You also pushed the rider+mount combo that Medinah wanted to hex, I think. So, I suppose Kihtsah will have to charge blindly forward or something? .
I will do some manner of update tomorrow. Tonight, I have homework to work on. Good work today crew, we got through a lot of combat in one day.

Re: [Hourglass of Zihaja D&D 4e] Heroes on a Sea of Swords OOC
Going to mention it here, that I forgot that Amirah's summons get +6 HP every time they do not get any orders during a turn (i.e. they obey their instinctive behavior), so the pack wolf is not in as bad shape as I feared (and will regain health enough to still be useful without using his second wind quite just yet).

Re: [Hourglass of Zihaja D&D 4e] Heroes on a Sea of Swords OOC
Sorry for the double post, but something weird is going on with my roll tags - and it is clearly me, since it is working for everyone else. Trying a new browser, just to see if it works.
Amirah: (1d20)[16]
Wolf: (1d20)[2]
OK, at least that worked. Still have stuck wolf, but at least main char can now do something in this fight, hopefully.
