reminds me on that scene under crocodile's bar, you know that one? where vivi tried to fight a single crocowanana or what it was called and fails.

I'm having a bit of trouble figuring out the beli to gp conversion rate. Maybe... 900 beli = 1 gp would be good enough?

Masterwork Katana = 335gp = 335 x 900 beli = 301,500 beli
Used Katana = Masterwork Katana / 2 = 150,750 beli
Sailing Ship or Long Ship = 10,000gp = 9 million beli
Warship = 25,000gp = 22.5 million beli

Wait a minute... shouldn't ships be worth more than that? The Strawhats are able to buy a decent second hand ship with 100 million beli, but the full 300 million would've gotten them a brand new ship. Ships in D&D run between 3,000gp (Keelship) to somewhere around 30,000gp (Galley). I imagine if there were sea voyage worthy versions of the Galley and Warship, they'd be a lot more expensive than 30,000gp. :p

So... maybe a simple non-masterwork bastard sword equals 300,000 beli?
8500 beli = 1 gp?

Non-masterwork bastard sword = 35gp = 35 x 8500 = 297500 beli
Used bastard sword = 17gp 5sp = 17.5 x 8500 = 148750 beli
Sailing Ship or Long Ship = 10,000gp = 85 million beli
Warship = 25,000gp = 212.5 million beli

Then there are the katana... I wondered if maybe this would be how they worked:

Wazamono Grade Swords = Zoro's Sandai Kitetsu = +1 to +3 Sword
Ryo Wazamono Grade Swords = Zoro's Yubashiri = +4 to +6 Sword
O Wazamono Grade Swords = Zoro's Wado Ichimonji and Shusui = +7 to +9 Sword
Saijo O Wazamono Grade Swords = Mihawk's Kokuto Yoru = +10 Sword

However...
Zoro's Wado Ichimonji = 20 million beli = 2,353gp or 22,222gp
Zoro's Sandai Kitetsu = 1 million beli = 118gp or 1,111gp

Cheap swords... >_>

Maybe the shop keeper in Logue Town was selling +1 Katana...

130 beli = 1 gp
+1 Katana = 2335gp = 2335 x 130 = 303,550 beli
Sandai Kitetsu = 1 million beli = 7,692gp
Wado Ichimonji = 20 million beli = 153,846gp

However...
Sailing Ship = 10,000gp = 1.3 million beli
Some super ship = 100,000gp = 13 million beli
Some super duper ship = 1 million gp = 130 million beli

My head hurts... (">_<)

Hm... I guess neither WotC (or whoever made the tables) nor Oda spent that much time on their prie lists... though I guess a sea worthy war galley isn't that much more than a normal one (is there even a not-seaworthy version?) I guess you could always stick to the beli and go with what the show tells you... and 10 to one seems a good enough average.
Also, the prices for the swords might not that easily translate to D&D standards. They might not be enchanted but a shopkeeper won't take money for design or rarity reasons.

Yeah, it already happened with Zoro and it might very well happen again with Nico Robin and Franky since they both started as enemy. Hell, who knows, maybe Sanji character just saw a badass cook knock down a navy lieutenant and said :«can I play this guy»?

Edit: by the way, before anyone ask, in the latest page Cabaji said in the third panel: «I didnt want to obtain my dirty clothes» and in the final one he said: «Translate the server error». I have no idea why Cabaji is french but it is pretty funny.

Who else thinks Zoro's Onigiri is some crazy high-level maneuver that Cory found a way to use at lower levels through outrageous munchkinning =D?

Nah, I think he got all his crazy skills by his already explained weaknesses like no sense of direction and extreme loyalty.
Though Zoro has so many crazy techniques I don't know how he'd afford half of them.

And he also gets new ones as he levels, the number of new attacks he pulls out really isnt that high, and could be compared to what a Swordsage might have, and thats before factoring in prestice classes.

Doesn't Cabaji make a return appearance latter? Being dead would make that a bit tricky.

Yeah, it cuts back to their ship for one scene with Alvida. Although there might also be the time where they're in the city and Zoro gets his swords, and Alvida and Buggy are there, so he might be there as well. People in One Piece are incredibly hard to kill. I think the only official death of any major protagonist or villain is Ace's.

Thanks! It's always nice to hear that. ^_^

By the way, has anyone come across any new rpg screencap comics lately? I thought I found one on Deviant Art, but upon closer inspection, realized it hasn't updated in an year. I really wanna update my "other comics" list. XD

Friendship is Dragons and Darths and Droids are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head.

First of... I'd kiss you for directing me towards Friendship is Dragons. But I think I'll first have a look if it's any good.

I'm not aware of many others... There was Venders & Brawlers but I think it's dead. And apparently there's a Conan the Barbarian one, finished. Darths and Droids and of course GM of the Rings are the most famous ones...
Apparently there are also Harry Potter... and that's all I could find.
