Words of magic where cast from behind at the entry when Draziw inflames his stony orb and shots a tiny flame, as large as the flame of a candle between the rats. It is not very impressive, until it explodes in a burst of fire and inflames the area around the rats that reach for all enemies of the wizard, ignoring his allies.
Spoiler
Orbmaster's incendiary explosion (burst 1) on the rats (z31) (1d20+4)[11] 12 vs. Reflex (incl. MoatL, (1d8+4)[8] fire damage, next round 4 fire damage, only for enemies that move in a burst 3 area around z31
Move to V33
At the last moment, Roderick manages to deflect the goblins sword from Crane but his own attack does not meet with as much success, missing its intended target.
Draziw, seeming to awake from a strange trance, enters the fray but is still groggy and his attack also goes wide of the mark.
Crunch:
Spoiler
Both Roderick and Draziw miss. I have added the hp back to Crane (4).

Crane pauses to catch his breath only to see the rats advancing on both him and Verin. As the rats pass Sgian-dubh and Verin, both manage to score hits on the creatures, drawing blood. The rats then bite at Verin viciously, also drawing blood.

Sigan-dibh, realizing that he is quite a bit bloodier than he was before, shifts away from the rats, closes his eyes and starts to chant, arcane fire magics swirling all around him, closing some wounds, and making others less severe.

Reeve sees the crossbow-wielding goblin scurry away down the hall. Under normal circumstances Reeve would consider a pursuit in the hopes that his enemy wouldn't bring reinforcements, but the battered shape of his allies convinced him to stay and help bring down any remaining enemies.
Rounding the corner, he found Verin, Crane, and Sgian trying to stomp the pile of rats. Charging in and extending his spear, he attempted to skewer a few.

Draziw is moving fast around the pit, closing the distance to his comrades. The small corridor is not the best place for an area attack, and Reeve is standing in the way, blocking his spell.
One moment he hesitates what he should do, and if he should simple let the spell target both. Or he just cast a small magic missile, killing one of the many rats. And watch how the rats attack the Verin and Crane arrond them.
If he dies he is more lucky than me.
Out of my way!
Draziw crushes his fist into the wall and a thunderwave rolls over Reeve and the rats in front of him.
Spoiler
Move to AB
Thunderwave from AC to AE (rest of the fields are blocked by the wall) (1d20+4)[24] against fort rats (1d20+4)[5] against fort reeve (1d6+4)[10] thunder damage plus maybe swarm vulnerability against area attacks
Push the rats to AJ, don't push reeve

After the sounds of combat cease, Reeve gathers the PCs up before wounds are mended. That wasn't our best start, he slyfully says as he coughs up a little blood, spitting it to the side. We will do better from here, though. We're now warmed up, right? And Draziw has knocked the cobwebs out, he says as he playfully punches him in the arm. Search the bodies of the slain for items of worth; scouts, search the corridors for any traps.
Spoiler
I'll be watching Sgian to see if he saves on his turn. If he doesn't, I'll spend a standard action to do a heal check: Heal - (1d20+7)[26] and on a DC15, if I succeed, I grant him a free saving throw. (Here's a second round if things get dire and he still fails his save: Heal - (1d20+7)[23])
When Sgian is no longer taking ongoing damage, let's take five minutes to short rest. After which, I'm going to use two heals on myself: two surge values + (2d6)[3][6](9). After another five-minute rest, I'll spend two heals on whoever needs them. Your + to your surge value will be one or the other, feel free to claim: (2d6)[3][6](9) After that I will want one more short rest to recharge my heals, for a total of 15 minutes of rest.
I'll make perception checks down each of the unexplored hallways for traps:
Perception down left hall - (1d20)[5] Perception down right hall - (1d20)[14]
Shew...
EDIT: Looks like I'll grant two saving throws to Sgian if he needs them. I'll also be healing Reeve back up to full. I rolled decent healing dice for whoever wants to claim them. Should hopefully be finding anything down the right hallway but probably nothing down the left heh. I feel like Reeve's doing a lot here so if anyone else wants to search bodies for loot feel free...

Verin, though fatigued from the fight, decided to make himself useful. "I'll look down all of the paths around here to make sure there are no more goblins hiding around... Or any traps."
Spoiler
Perception checks with darkvision
East hall - (1d20+7)[21]
West hall - (1d20+7)[14]
South hall - (1d20+7)[16]
Weeping Crane
It gladdens me to know that I have lost no more of my charges this day, replies Weeping Crane before resuming his trademark silence. He meditates with a prayer book in his lap while the party's medics tend to the group's wounds.
Spoiler
Will take that second Ardent Surge to get back to 27 HP exactly, thankee muchly. Since he's not really a monk but a Fighter, Crane hasn't got much to contribute skill-monkey wise, so he'll just meditate with his ki focus and pray.
I just realized, that Crane is a Martial Class MC into Psionics, with an Arcane theme and Divine backstory/fluff. All he's missing are Primal and Elemental .

Sgian takes a moment after the combat is done to rest and meditate. Unlike Crane's meditations, Sgians are odd and he doesn't seem to be praying to much as communicating with some one/some thing. As he sits, with the song of the bard swirling around him, fiery, arcane energy starts swelling around Sgian, healing his wounds and getting him back to complete health. As he does this he notices, but doesn't say anything, that the vampire stands close to him, and steals a little bit of the arcane powers flowing around him.
Spoiler
That is just fluff for giving you a healing surge sour. Because, honestly, Sgian wouldn't give anyone anything, so there ya go
A warm feeling of comfort steals itself in Draziws soul when Reeve pushes him friendly. A good emotion, forcing the whispering voices of past lifes and friendship into silence.
Now is now, and will be gone soon enough.
And a smile is never wasted. Draziw has no need for healing, he searches the bodies instead for some information about those creatures and their purpose in these chambers, and for something of worth.
After resting and tending their wounds the adventurer's search the bodies of their fallen enemies and manage to liberate some meager coins. Reeve, leading the way moves down the east hallway to the curtain and slowly peers beyond to reveal a storage room filled with crates. Moving further into the room reveals a door in its western wall.

Searching the crates in the storage room reveals nothing but some meager supplies. Dissapointed, the adventurer's regroup in the barracks and proceed to open the door in its western wall.
Discolored stairs lead down into cold darkness. An overpowering odor of damp rot fills the air.

Sgian, after meditating and communing with the other realm, gets up and follows the others to the door. He immediately goes back to the shadows, and takes a look down the path as well, using his heightened vision to his advantage.
"It's not very difficult to create light, but more so to stay out of it. I will try to illuminate only the path in front of us, so that we keep on being unseen."
And for real, Draziw cast a spell that seems to make everything visible in a small area in front of him, like light from an invisible Torch, 20 or 30 feet down the corridor. No light source can be seen, and the area touched by the spell ends in front of the group.
Spoiler
draziw casts light into the corridor, it will last for 5minutes or until he uses the spell again or dismisses it.
Given the shape of the hallway, Verin could not see much of its contents from the stairs. This being the case, he advanced slightly so that he could see down the nearest side path. After he got a good look down the hallway, he returned to his former position and told his allies, "There were some magical runes down a few of those side paths. I didn't really look hard enough to be able to tell what they do."
Sgian sees the light cast, and looks quite annoyed at it. "Lights, ugh. Make sure it doesn't come back on us. I don't need it anyway, but the second it gets in the way, put it out."
