It's unfortunate you can't wear both Hearthstone bracers and Perfect Kata Bracers... or can you?

You can probably combine them both into a 5-dot artifact, though that would be the most boring 5-dot artifact ever. Other than that, there is no reason why you shouldn't be able to wear both, other than having short arms.
There is also discreet essence armor, for the martial artist who just wants a lot of soak.

I'm not sure if it's forbidden by RAW, like it is in D&D (I know the rules there say you can only wear 2 rings, for example, even if the standard amount of fingers is ten and you should be able to fit a couple rings on each except maybe the little finger. However, I'd say that any such attempt would have to go though the ST first, and I personally would only allow it with excellent justification.

I want my character to look like Sazed from Mistborn: The Final Empire. That should be all the justification I need.

In one game I played, my martial artist PC wore the perfected kata bracers on his arms, and hearthstone "greaves" on his legs.
Also, I know this issue's been long-resolved, but I found something relevant to the Chocolate Debate in Compass: Scavenger Lands: they drink it in Gray Falls.

Like I said earlier, they also grow it in Halta.

Where do you think the Smiley Face came from in Creation? It's clearly the visage of our lord superimposed on a yellow disk representing the sun.
A particularly dysfunctional Infernal Coven would later use it as a mock insignia until their rampage came to a sudden end at the edict of Ebon Nixon prior to the onset of his cold war with the USSR (The Underworld of Soviet Socialist Republics). Their Defiler would remain gainfully employed building nukes or some ****.

It's posts like this that make me wish this forum had a thank feature.

So, here's a question. Would adding the following feature impact the game negatively in any meaningful way:
Universal Excellence; Often considered the root principle upon which excellencies are based, this fundamental law allows beings with essence to improve their abilities. By spending 4 motes, they may add one die to any roll, or to a static value as if using the first excellency. They may add only Essence dice in this manner, and these dice count as dice from charms.
Essentially, a horribly inefficient proto-excellency. It doesn't need to be specifically taken though, and it can also be used by beings who normally don't have excellencies, like mortals with awakened essence.

As for Ox-Body and the mote expanders, I was thinking about using those to help deal with the lethality problem and the problem of Eclipse-alikes getting access to more mote expanders than anyone else.

Well, lunars get around it because their excellencies are relatively cheap to cover wide swaths of things. And sidereal excellencies stink and I usually homebrew around them to up the ante. And frankly if a mortal wants to blow through that large a proportion of their essence on one crazy action, I'm inclined to let them (particularly given the 1/3 accessible rule).

Thought I'd ask my fellow forumites...
One of my PCs in the Infernal game wants to craft an artifact that allows him to instantly and unerringly communicate with the other PCs, across any distance, and from any realm of existence. I told him that I'd have to think about it, and that it might have to be a fairly-potent artifact.
He argued that the Torc of Unified Action from Wonders of the Lost Age does that already (and more besides that), and is "just" a two-dot artifact, and that his should just be a one-dot artifact...
However, having looked at the Torc of Unified Action, something about it rubs me the wrong way... Aside from the utter invasiveness of it, I mean.
On the one hand, note that Infallible Messenger, a Terrestrial Circle spell (which should be more potent than a one-dot artifact), doesn't travel outside of Creation, and can take as much as a day to reach its target, depending on distance.
On the other hand, such an artifact would be EXTREMELY useful for the group. What level of artifact should it be, fellow Playgrounders?
Re: General Exalted Discussion V: Our Armies are Pants
Looking at the torc, I have a couple thoughts.
1. The torc is made of all five magical materials. If they want to make them for the party they will need a source of starmetal etc.
2. It is not at all clear to me that it can be used to communicate outside og Creation.
3. There are several other terrestrial circle spells that could give you limited instantaneous communication: Spoke the Wooden Face, Written upon the Water, Blood Mirror Speech.
With that said, I agree two dots seems low.
