Dragonsight is one of Umbriel's all-day buffs (see her character sheet for the complete list), which means I have 100ft Blindsense and 200ft Darkvision: can I see or sense anything from the direction of the scream (or from any other direction)? Here is my Spot check if you need it, note that my distance penalty on Spot checks is halved.

Spot (1d20)[13].

Simon would have a Magic Circle Against Evil up, centered on himself. If we've been out for about an hour, that means it still has 80 minutes up. None of my other buffs are long enough to warrant having them up, so that's that.

Yep, the conversation is at a good stopping point.

Androse is on his flying carpet, but otherwise has no buffs. I'm lame.

Sorry for the delay in responding to this. Godot would still have had Dragonsight active, and would have added Voice of the Dragon and Tongues when the group headed out.

Oh, I would have Message up as well, since we've been told visibility may not be good and it's nice to be able to communicate.

I'm posting a map, and description, but suffering a few technical problems. In the meantime you may want to roll initiative, just in case...

The excel map worked a treat - thanks for the suggestion.

However, I don't see any way to post it to the forum, since I don't have permission for attachments. Any ideas?

I tend to make a google-document and set it to 'share with those that have a link'. Looks like this. Easily done and set up with a gmail account. You can also make a .pdf out of it and share it in the same way, but google-excel documents have the benefit of you being able to adapt it on the fly, wherever you are (assuming you have internet).

Blah, can't ever seem to get a good roll on my skill checks! And it looks like I screwed up on initiative.

So here it is: (1d20+7)[26]

Just to clear things up: did everybody, except Derk, leave the cart and head for the 'encounter area'? This would be no problem, for me, I am just wondering .

We shouldn't leave Kalinor alone, probably.

Umbriel is waiting at the wagon with Derk, for the moment. She's on a phantom steed, so can zip forward if need be, or throw light spells forward if others need to see - she also has 200ft darkvision and 100ft blindsense, I guess if these aren't helping it's because the action is around a corner?

Initiative: (1d20+5)[9]

If Godot is in sight (and I do have See Invisibility, so that's not a problem), she can have the Nerveskitter as usual. If none of the people in the square are within my sight/blindsense range, Umbriel won't nerveskitter at all.

Kalinor isn't with you, unless you'd particularly require his presence?

Your wagon and the 'encounter area' both appear on the same map. Your wagon is about 20 feet from the corner, the woman crouching under the cart is about 75-80 past the corner.

If you go more than about 40 feet up, you'll start getting into poor visibility. This is below the level of the rooftops.

Androse flew on his carpet to the encounter area. He's about 10ft. in the air and relatively close to the wicked-smile'd man.

If anyone has some kind of document sharing set up and is willing to PM an email address, I can send them the map to post up. Otherwise I'll do another ASCI map, and follow up with a better map once I get a google docs account set up.

You can take a screenshot of it and upload it to a picture sharing site, like photobucket. I don't imagine it taking a lot of time.

Good point. Map is now up.

The red represents a clutter of barrels, rubble and masonry that appears to be blocking that narrow allyway.

Considering where the wagon is, I assume we are approaching from the south, right?

Also, since Godot will probably use a buffing skill/spell on us, can I delay my initiative to 1 below what Godot will roll, if that would not put me below 5?

Sure, just post your action after Godot's. The PCs who can act can act in any order, irrespective of their rolls. That's just to cut down on wait times and make the gmae go faster.

Heh, stupid question: Is there actually anything in our cart that is worth protecting. I kind of felt like sending Derk in to smash stuff, but am not sure whether that would actually be a stupid thing to do. Sorry about the confusion.

Indeed, is the mirror in the wagon meant to be actually valuable, or is it purely a cheap decoy? Either way, Derk, if you want to go smash stuff, I think you should feel free; I'm happy to have Umbriel hang back and keep an eye on things, she can Benign-Transpose with you if need be.

Sorry about that, accidentally posted my OOC request to the IC thread.

Umbriel is riding up on her Phantom Steed and having a look into the square: can I have Knowledge checks on the creatures?

In the accidental IC post I rolled once for the case where the check was Planes/Arcana/Religion, and got 40 (with a +35 modifier), and once for the case where it was any other Knowledge skill, and got 20 (with a +18 modifier). If you prefer I reroll, they're in the spoiler.

Spoiler

Derk, did you want me to try to move you into position to take a hasted full attack? If so, I'll do that, if not, I'll toss a glitterdust. Either way, I'll add the IC question of whether you want to be teleported in, as soon as I know my Knowledge check results.

That is actually a great idea. And please do not hesitate to swap me back to the cart when things get too physical there for your comfort.
