tsk, tsk... Didn't your mothers ever tell you not to go adventuring without your kit! You're gonna catch cold!
Don't worry, Papa Bugbear brought his gear. And if we have to spend a night out in the forest, I'm sure a couple good Nature checks and you can skin something to sleep in! ("I thought they smelled bad...")
I don't want to be an ass, but that one is kind of similar to the one I chose (and as I understand, the whole point of the colors is to prevent confusion).
I don't mind changing mine, though, if you really want that one. Either way is fine with me.

Well, then, I'll just go ahead and give my guy a kit, then. After all, he hasn't been introduced just yet!
Speaking as a relative play-by-post newbie, I don't see the importance of different color text. Sure, if you're in a chat room together and all the text is mashed in one box, but here, your speech is in your own separate box. Does it really help all that much? Or am I just a bitter, color-blind little boy, jealous of the spectrum denied him?
This is all new for me as well, but so far I have noticed that it helps when you're scanning back through multiple posts, as the character speech really stands out.
Beyond that, I think it just helps establish a bit of voice and personality (I.e., the blood-red text for our new Vampire friend, or our Great Green Goliath Warden).
My MBA is +11 v Reflex, 1d10+11 dmg if you're an MBA-granting Warlord, btw.
If only I could multiclass rogue for Sneak Attack damage, but alas! Vampire Slam is an implement attack -- not a Light Blade Weapon attack. Maybe I'll get Assassin's Shrouds...
EDIT: actually, I miscalculated my MBA, its +13 damage, not +11.

Yes, the Class is in Heroes of Shadow, while the Heritage Feat is in Dragon 367 or something. I'm using the Class.
EDIT: Hrmm, that sounded bitchy. Allow me to clarify: Yes, it is a class in Heroes of Shadow that I am using. There is also a Heritage Feat in a Dragon Magazine that makes you a Dhampyr, or half vampire, with some feat support and whatnot.

A what Warlord?
My only innate (non-power) abilities right now are Combat Leader (which gives all of us a +2 to initiative), Tactical Presence (which gives all of you guys a +1 to attack when you use an action point), and Tactical Assault (you all get +3 to damage when you use an action point).
Sorry, I meant a "lazylord" who uses at wills that grant allies melee basic attacks (MBAs) and was saying that mine is decent, so if you do roll that way, feel free to toss me around ;)

@Lemonus: Just so we're clear (as the whole "grabbing" situation is central to my character), enemies can still attack while grabbed, at no penalty. The only mechanical effect is that they are "immobilized". Now, I do all kinds of other fun things to them, but in this case the Guard does not need to escape in order to attack me.
Edit: That being said, you are more than welcome to continue missing me with every roll!

Ok, so it looks like Viola has the best melee basic attack in general (unless it's against something with a really high reflex defense), followed by Melhved.
Oh, and I have Wolf Pack Tactics (which lets one of my allies shift when I attack), so if one of you needs to shift when it's not your turn, let me know and I can use that one.
When we defeat them, do we leave them unconcious or just turn them into croc food?
Bugbear is more of an entertainer than a killer, so he's going to be primarily making non-lethal attacks. Not for any moral reason, that's just what he knows.

At this stage of Bugbear's career, not much I'm afraid. Aside from the immobilization and some forced movement, he is also able to regularly knock and keep enemies prone. Between that and his Fighter's mark, the strategy is to force one or two enemies to focus entirely on Bugbear, while the rest of you mop up the others.
If you want to build some synergy with his style look for feats and powers that offer extra effect against prone or immobilized enemies. World Serpent's Grasp, for example, is a feat that allows you to knock a slowed or immobilized enemy prone on a hit. Both Melhved (the Goliath Warden) and I will be able to frequently slow and/or immobilize enemies.
Yeah, I checked everyone's sheets. You are third place (doesn't mean I won't use Commander's Strike on you, just means that you are third priority for it unless there are special circumstances).
By the way, are you limited to attacking the foe you're grappling?
