Huh. Ben tells Luke what really happened to his father. That's quite a departure from the movies.
Also, we might finally be getting closer to "Luke".
There's a porn parody of Star Wars in which Ben tells Luke the truth about his father: "He was a young Jedi apprentice until I cut off his arms and legs and left him to burn to death in a lake of lava". At which point, Luke whines, "I wanna go home now". And really, who could blame him.
And no, I haven't seen the parody, but there was a SFW trailer that I have seen.
Holy heck, I cant believe ben missed it. That was obvious foreshadowing of a PC that will be involved eventually. I mean, he was right, and the DM doesnt do these npc dialogues when there arent any players to hear them.

But a good character needs time... you can't just rush one out because you died.
I personally don't think it's good to let characters know things they don't witness themselves... of course they can eavesdrop on the enemy but just knowing what happens elsewhere... nah, I'd never do that. Well, split parties not withstanding, of course.
The D+D group has always been great at separating IC/OOC knowledge. I've always enjoyed how they've portrayed it in the comic.
Are we talking about the same D+D group?
Some of them yes, Ben and Annie definitenly, Sally most of the time. But Pete? And while Jim got better, but he'd still use it.
It makes sense that if they wanted to keep Luke safe, they wouldn't only change his name, but also put him in the care of more than capable protectors.
Plus, the clone troopers are rubbish.
