The IC has begun! Go here for the first post. Please post as well!
For now, welcome to the players and items to deal with:
- Niche overlap. Please resolve this if you expect it to be an issue. I'll edit in my impressions when I have more time.
- Character creation. Well advanced already. Yay!
- 'Open' thread. While I'd much prefer that players (and I) be the only ones ot post in the IC thread, I'm fond of onlookers (having been one before). Any objections to onlookers posting in the OOC? Similarly, if you want to post about this game elsewhere (and moan about my ST skills, perhaps), feel free.
- EDIT 2: Vote done! Niamh, queen-to-be of Drayne is the Monarch!
Not sure if I should be posting here, but I've answered your latest question here. and added a couple more questions. I'll try and get more up tomorrow.
Heh I would have figured others would have posted. My sheet is nearly complete. (Have to figure out such things like those shaping combat stuff but I can do that with a program/pdf auto calc sheet. XD Otherwise, Charms.)
So Lix is my nearly niche overlap person? (Or vice versa ^^) Anyway worry not, apparently I'm heavily investing in two places. Cup and Shaping stance. There are only like 2 Sword Charms I'm looking at atm but I'll likely just catch them upon XP getting. ^^ I'm going to also check Staff and Ring, I gave them a glance but not too deep looks. Cup so far has the starting places I want to have)
Now with that said (and I'm tired I should go back to sleep) Onlookers posting in the OOC? I... I have no objection but I might find it odd.
I should probably subscribe to this. Here's my sheet progress thus far:
Spoiler
Name Rulenizo, the False Crone Nobility Raksha Luminary
Motivation Manipulate the Scar-born to serve her private war with the Hannya.
Backstory
Spoiler
Once, I performed a service as an intermediary between two minor Courts in the area of the Wyld the Creation-born to create an oath-child to sanctify a truce between the two Houses. I, who was once Unshaped, and had stepped through the Gate to give Lord Balor my observations of Creation. I, who am now a fraction of a second from destruction.
The oath-child was named Rulenizo, and I swore in her name to maintain the peace between the two Courts as long as they both stood. She was a Courtier then, and won't become a Luminary until after my passing. As is natural for we raksha, she held true to her oath, and would until its conditions expired in the Balorian Crusade.
The Courts of her parents, who held strong to her Graces they received at her birth, waged war alongside Lord Balor to wipe out Creation. The clever girl took to calling it the Scar, inflaming the hostilities toward Creation in her parents to maintain the peace between their courts. Not that it would matter, as the Sword of Creation was most ruthless. It was only by a final mercy that Rulenizo was granted her Staff Grace by the parent who was struck down.
Upon returning to the Bordermarches, the Courtier's loyalty was tested against inversion, but held: Her loyalty had meerly shifted exclusively to her late parent. With one court wiped out by the devices of the Scar, Rulenizo was able to engage her surviving parent, and by her reclaimed Staff she was able to catch the Artisan who held her Cup off guard, envoking taboos and traditions previously nonexistent, yet at the same time conflicting with the Artisan's Lure when abiding by it would result in the Curse of Forgetfulness befalling him. Reluctantly, he abided.
She swore then and there to harry the surviving court, already battered, if they sought no vengeance for her self-liberation. Her Artisan father, Dalamani of the Cerulean Crescent, said he would respect those wishes for now, but advised her to flee so that he could recover without temptation. Being a clever girl, she heeded his wisdom.
Interestingly, she sought me out. A Courtier without a court, she thought to seek a haven with an Imperial Raksha who was without master with Lord Balor's passing. As options were discussed, an Unshaped of previously unknown viciousness befell my Retinue, cackling shamelessly as it flaunted the folly of the raksha, announcing the rise of the Hannya as it seized Swords and shattered Hearts.
Rulenizo fled, and I saw fit to engage it in discussion. The Cup was not a strong Grace of mine, but I was curious about its vulnerabilities, and was overjoyed to find it a weakness. I ravished its Conviction with my nonchalant attitude toward its goals and power as I inquired as to its nature, compelling the monstrousity to give chase.
Rulenizo, I soon discovered, was being harried by one of my Warriors, who was insistent that she come to my defense. She rightly observed that she had no loyalty to me save that of respect, and that the Warrior was abandoning me in his effort to recruit her. Their conflict would go on, and end with the False Crone earning a new weapon of the Sword before fleeing into the relative safety of the Scar.
I, meanwhile, discovered more Hannya in my flight, and several were thrashing one another simultaneous to hounding me as the hungry wolves that they were. As fortune had it, I came across Samsara before my Heart was vexed, and now see what the future holds. It is not what I would have hoped for, but I find it satisfying, and it is comforting to know that, through Rulenizo's wiles and machinations, it shall be so.
Artifacts and Equipment
Oath of Equivolency - Artifact ●● - This Sthiti Oath has the usual combat statistics for an adjuration, having been sworn by Rulezimo to pay for any product or service provided to her with a product or service of her own. It grants Imposition of Law to Intelligence+Craft(Glamour) rolls within the specialty of Intended Payment.
Mantle of the Crone - Artifact ● - Having lost the original lorekeeper for this inward-facing dream in her flight from the Hannya, Rulenizo doesn't get any practical benefit from it at the moment. Should this Waking Circle Spell be attuned and cast, however, the Assumption of Wood grants it the form of a hooded cloak that, when worn, provides the oneiromantic benefits of Beguilement, Gladdening Visage, Heaven Rains Wisdom, Subtle Hammer, and Untouchable Performer Technique.
Ephemereal Clasp - Artifact ● - This Shaping Armor usually takes the statistics of an Enhanced Buff Jacket when evoked into Creation, taking on the appearance of a robe with appropriate aesthetics for the evocation.
Polished Ebon Staff - Resources ●● - An item originally intended as payment to an omen dog for mauling an attacker for her, the creature's refusal of the stick forced her to repay the creature by scratching it behind the ears instead. As a consequence, Rulenizo now wields a Perfect Staff with +2 Defense, +1 Accuracy, and +1 Damage.
Distracting Scent of Perfume - Gossamer ●● - The False Crone did not always bear her Mantle, and this Exceptional Figment enjoys +1 to Accuracy, Damage, and Defense.
Ogre Warboss - Gossamer ●● - A snare became a vexation when a Warrior thought Rulenizo easy prey, and his favored champion was taken prisoner for war crimes after the dust settled. This Fine Mutant Warleader has +1 Defense as a Shaping weapon, and enjoys the Thick Skin and Huge mutations when evoked into Creation.

Character Name: Xytrisae, Dancer of Midnight Blades Concept: Contracted Entertainer, Heroine to be Caste: Ornamental Raksha Motivation: To become a Heroine that will be admired for Eons to come. Intimacies: Song (Enjoyment), Her Story (Protectiveness), Being Desired (Fulfillment), Drayne (Dimmed Curiosity), the Child Ruler (Desire to free), the nearby Shadowlands (Fear), those that enforce cruel rules (dislike), the other Raksha in Drayne (Curiosity), Voice of Crystal Song (Rivalry), Tyranim (Professional Trust)
APPEARANCE
Spoiler
Xytrisae is a dark skinned (though in the shades of blue) well endowed woman with pointed ears, and strikingly jet black wavy hair that falls to her ankles. She has a shapely, seductive, somewhat athletic form. Her eyes are a calm and serene blue, though the color shifts depending on her emulated emotions. She wears nothing aside her shaping armor, and the slender yet strong leather strap that holds the ornate sheath for the Ebon Sword Song. It is a concept that Xytrisae has yet to learn, being wholly only being treated and servicing other Raksha, why clothes are even needed, except to be flashy. For most performances to add a level of enticement she has a set of silken clothes, and an ornate silver bikini bra.

It has a ruby and a sapphire inset in it in the maws of two golden dragons. Of most things on her body this item appears to be the most valuable next to the Ebon Sword Song.) Oneiromancy - Earrings of Midnight Trysts (Assumption of Dreams and Passion (Admiration)1, Beguilement 5, Fall of Night Shadows the Truth 3, Untouchable Performer)- These Earrings cause all that see Xytrisae to feel admiration for her efforts, while making them vulnerable to any suggestion that she may have towards them. They also ensure that none may trace anything bad from some encounters back to her and when that fails protects her from being hated) Ebon Sword Song (Daiklave) Attune 5 - This Sword is the finest treasure that she owns, forged somewhere unknown, the Voice of Crystal Song gave the item to her when she was powerless before it. While she deigns never to resort to physical violence, the weapon has been a durable and beautiful addition to her exotic and seductive dances with the black bladed weapon. It would horrify a few knowledgeable people to know its a Starmetal blade, stolen from a young Sidereal who thought he had enough clout to deal with the Voice of Crystal Song's Emanations.
Long, Long ago, before Creation was forged, and the Primordials forced their strong wills upon the chaos of the Wyld, there was the Azure River of Sword and Song. She was an oddity of the Chaos Lords, she enjoyed watching the Primordials as they discovered each other. While her kind sought to play games with the Primordials she simply watched. But after awhile they did bore her and to the deep wyld she went to entice and seduce the Fae of the Wyld. Her unique Song echoed in the Wyld, her swords the sharpest any had ever been cut apart by, her azure blue waters were the purest in all of the Wyld not even the Primordial Kimbery could boast to have as much.
Still Creations forging came at a cost to the Azure River. Soon she was ignored, and her song no longer could call to the spirits of the wyld. She grew despondent and distant, and any fool that sought to quest against her soon found that her willful laws superseded Fae laws. If they sought to quest for some trinket of hers, they soon learned that they would be her prisoners. The Azure blue waters soon were crushing and cold and her swords cleaved Graces and Fae away.
There was one that soon noticed her, the Voice of Crystal Song. When her song was heard he sought to outdo her, and time and time again they clashed. He laughed when she turned to violent and cruel means, her tantrum lasted eons. And then Balor came and whole of Fae attempted to recruit for their Crusade against Creation. The Voice of Crystal Song watched as minion and fool were drowned, made slaves, or destroyed, and the Voice of Crystal Song laughed. He too refused the summons of Balor, unwilling to have his narrative to be subsumed by the strong Ishvara. But a plan did form, the fall of the Azure River of Sword and Song would soon no longer be fearfully regarded, her discordant song would forever be silenced. All he needed was the right time.
That time came long after the terrible roar of the Realm Defense Grid tore apart Balor and his Crusade. The heroine of Creation, the destroyer of Balor, had disappeared. And so the Voice of Crystal Song approached the brooding Azure River of Sword and Song. And this is what he did.
Behold, Creation. And the Azure River of Sword and Song looked grudgingly at it and saw it to be a blight upon all that was theirs. Behold Azure River, the Voice of Crystal Song commands and the Azure River of Sword and Song beholds and felt it in her very Heart a desire grow unlike any desire before. Behold Azure River, Slighted by the Primordials, Coerced by Mighty Prince Balor, this is that which all that has wounded you has dealt with. This cyst. The Voice of Crystal Song took the Azure River, swept pass gnats of the Shaped and stopped before the boarders of Wyld and Order. BEHOLD! This that the Primordials wrought, this is that the Prince Balor sought to destroy and was cast down, BEHOLD and tremble. For as the Hannya move to devour our very stories so too will this blight, this sin! Azure River of Sword and Song, you must help our cause, to destroy it before the Hannya destroy us!
The Azure River of Sword and Song, whose waters were the purest of blues, whose song was addicting and loved, whose swords were sharper and deadlier than any, looked to the Voice of Crystal Song and it was said that she saw the darkness in the Voice of Songs Voice. But how entertaining would it have been to ignore it as she has done to countless others. Everything was stale, and her heart had been wounded, since Creation came and she had ignored it. She had ignored the Prince Balors and destroyed his messengers, the Thief of Words, the others with a form intimidating. And slowly but surely no one would visit her purest blue waters, be cut down by her sharpest of swords, or ensnared by the alluring song. And so she said to the Voice of Crystal Song, whose song was most disharmonious and paled to hers, To Creation I shall go. I will not destroy this place, not yet, its song is not as strong as mine, but its song is brighter than yours. I will go and see what the Courts of the shaped do and say, I will go and bring my sharpest of blades and my most alluring of Song. If they desire it, they will convince me to help them destroy the Song of Creation.
Very well, the Voice of Crystal Song tells her. Go forth.
And the Azure River of Sword of Song called upon her Emanations and together they all agreed to travel through the Gate of Sundraprisha. She collapsed herself forming herself but in the last moment the Voice of Crystal Song played a dirty trick and the newly made shaped Xytrisae found her form pleasing to Voice of Crystal Song influenced by it to appear weak, and a desire to be obedient to all that are strong. Though deep inside the newly formed Xytrisae sat the desire to be a heroine to both Creation and Wyld she was forced to hide it away while she became a slave of Fae stronger than her. Given the blade the Ebon Sword Song, the Voice of Crystal Song set Xytrisae to one of the minions of the Voice of Crystal Song. And for a while she resided with that Fae and brought enjoyment to her. Eventually she was sold and purchased to another Fae, and that in turn to another, and then another until she came into the service of Tyranim, the Master of the Show. Plenty capable of drawing a crowd Xytrisae formed a contract with this Fae, and a contract it became. To provide for Tyranim her services and ability be to entertain or whatever his whim may be, she will do so with all her worth. And from him she expects his fair treatment and to allow her a measure of freedom with her performances.
Her story now is simply, to endure her hardships for those forge a Heroine, and then she will show all existence that the Hannya and other threats are nothing to be feared.
In any case, I feel that I should post my backstory.
Spoiler
"Have you come to learn? To meditate on the nature of Chaos?
"No, you have come to meditate on mine? As you wish. Chaos is found in all things, and we Fae are more Chaotic then most. I do request you stay and learn, for a while at least. All those who come to and ask questions must hear wisdom, whether it be mine or of the Wyld.
"I am Primate Bhudev, newly elected-and-formed Deacon of Rhaksastan, and Missionary of the Manifold Paths to Infinity. What is that, you ask? Well, I am also the first person to understand their existence...so that makes me the only member, as of yet. I suppose you could count four-fiths of the Whisperer in The Leaves, too, given how I am Semirams' and Jubal's oath-child, and this incarnation's existence-oath is that I would spread the gospel of the Wyld's love, which is part of what the Manifold Paths involve...but I'm getting ahead of myself.
"So, how was I born with an understanding of a new religious doctrine? Well, that's easy: Once, I was not Bhudev, nor was I raksha. Once, I was a human, named Bhim.
"Wait, you shouldn't leave like that! I haven't finished explaining, and my story prevents people from leaving unless...ow.
"That thorn must have hurt. My apologies, I must at least attempt to make people stay if they have not heard my wisdom. I tried to blunt the Ring attack, but it is instinct. Here, take some gossamer as compensation.
"As I was saying-once, I was an Immaculate monk, not a master, not a god-blood, just a normal acolyte hoping to save enough money to travel to the Realm and join the Grey...March? I partially transcended memory, which is irritating at times. In any case, that place where the Perfect of Jylis Sextes selects new, official monks. So, I was more of a monk-in-training...in-training...
"All right, so I was a poor excuse for a holy man. But what can I say? I was young and poor, and travel to the realm as anything other then a stowaway was rather expensive, particularly from the Scavenger Lands. To make ends meet, I began to journey into the Collector Wood, a local Wyld Pocket of the Bordermarches taking the form of a single tree with many trunks, so named because it can take the Creation-born and baptize them in the Wyld, creating a new gardener for itself. Rather fetching shade of magenta, too. But I, in my ignorant days, was only interested in the healing power of it's sap.
"Naturally, I was the first patient of my own bounty, having taken spinal damage from it's rightfully upset tenders. Never a better thing to happen to me either, for in the enchanted sleep of recovery, I found the true enlightenment, not those professed by those Elemental Aberrations:
"That the only absolute truth...is Chaos. Chaos, the foundation of all things, Chaos, the purest form of the shinma, Chaos, sire to the Primordials and I'm beginning to prattle, aren't I?
"In any case, I awoke, finally seeing my dreams for the laughable illusions they were, I went back to the Collector Wood, the place of my nirvana. But I did not wish to join with it, no-I would simply be returned to Lethe, or worse, sent to the Underworld to rot among the passionless shades when I inevitably died. No, I fed it with my heart's blood, figuring I would be consumed by the Wyld and my spirit would nourish universal enlightenment.
In retrospect, I have no idea what I was thinking, and I do not care to shame myself with that memory.
In any case, I was surprised to find that not only was I coming back to awareness with...the important parts...of my memories, but reincarnated as a personification of the Only Truth! Thus, I set out to show my revelation to all the lands of shape, and so bring an end to the suffering inherent with form. Which is why I came to Drayne-there is much sorrow and bitterness here, and it needs the wonder and knowledge inherent in Chaos even more then the rest of Creation.
"Now, you may believe I am mad. This is understandable, even valid. It could be that there was never a wannabe monk named Bhim, that I am a delusional pawn of the Whisperer in the Leaves, who does not even know why he was created. And this, my friend, is the wisdom I leave you with:
"That if only Chaos is true, then all things, whether that be madness or insight, are equally valid and right."
"You may leave. Although, if you'd like a pamphlet..."

Ganurath: looks good so far. Do note that your Gullet capacity is 5, not 0.
Myl: I only count 8 charms chosen in your sheet - post-errata, Fair Folk get 10! You've also listed 4 dots worth of specialties, when only 3 are allowed without bonus points - and could you differentiate between Favored and Caste abilities? The former (3) get 2 bonus dots and can go to 7, while the latter (5) are chosen from your two castes, get 1 bonus dot only, and can go up to 6.
Leliel: feel free to ask if there's something that seems unclear (and specific. While saying "All of GWM, errata included" is technically correct, it's not helpful).
All: IC post should be up soon. I'll update the top post with its coordinates when this occurs.

I don't have any copies of the Gullet Charm yet, I just put that up for future use and in case others used my sheet as a guideline. Backstory and Intimacies are up, so barring complications my sheet is done.
Questions: Any objection to my Shaping Armor and Mutant Warleader already being evoked, with the latter stored in Elsewhere? Also, reading the Elite Soldier in Core leads me to believe they have Resources 3 that gets knocked to 0 by spending. Can my Mutant Warleader knock that down to 2 with different equipment, and only count it as Resources 2 for purposes of how many superior items he gets? I'm thinking Fine Hammer and Perfect Buff Jacket, along with a Buckler. Give him a bit of an ogrish look, with a hooded cloak with eyeslits and a rusty hammer and shield decorated with ominous runes...

Spoiler
Name: Tyranim, Master of the Show Exalt Type and Caste: Raksha Artisan(Worker/Entertainer)
Motivation: Spread the tale of his shows across all of creation.
Background:
Tyranim is a performer. But not an ordinary one, oh no. That would be far too easy. After all, any fool can learn to dance and sing. but to lead the performance of others, to be the puppetmaster who gives them meaning and creates wonder from the poor material of mere mortals? That is rather more impressive. And it is that story he has chosen for himself.
As for his past, he speaks little. A former unshaped, an oath-child, a commoner who rose higher. It doesn't matter really, the show continues regardless of what it's master is or is not. And besides, questions keep the mortals coming back for more!
Sometimes the creation-born just don't give a good performance it's just due. That's certainly not a problem for the one to wear the Mask, as it's wondrous magic reveals to them just how wonderful what they just watched was. And who could resist returning to see such wonders again?
Assumption of Dreams and Passion(1 point) - the Mask takes the shape of a simple masquerade mask, with the aspect of mystery.
Emotion-Weaving Style(3 points) alters the motivations of any who cheer on the performance, making their devotion of the performers a bit less hollow. (changes motivation to "Please the performers as best they can, be it by watching or participating in as many shows as possible")
shiftless Untamed Beauty(3 points) makes sure that the mental changes wrought stick, those effected by the spell all too happy to be subjected to it again.
Heart Stealing Kiss(3 points, drains temperance) drives the crowd to decadence, which occasionally leads to unintended side-effects, but serves to further reinforce their addiction to the show as well.
1-dot Spell: Man-tamer Whip
Spoiler
The mortals of creation are pitiful things, hardly capable of giving a raksha any support. But that doesn't mean their only use is as food! A single crack of this whip and all those who submit to it's power are improved, changed into creatures worthy of serving one of the fair folk. And they are certainly not brain-washed monsters, that is completely preposterous. Besides, they return to normal eventually! Well, mostly.
Assumption of Bestial visage(1 point) gives the Whip it's form, a leather whip with a polished bone handle.
Bestial Transformation(3 points), Subversion and Transformation Artifice(3 points), and Behemoth Forging Meditation(3 points) change those brave volunteers from the audience, first changing them into mighty lions, and then improving them from there into behemoths fit to serve the circus. (mutations: Wings from Behemoth Forging. Scales, Multiple heads, Scorpion Tail, and ordinary Object Conjuration(costumes for performing in) from Subversion and Transformation Artifice) Most of the mutations wear off in a few days. But as a gift to the mortals, the wings remain!
1-dot spell: The Ringleader's Cloak
Spoiler
The creation-born are so easily angered, always trying to interrupt the wonderful show of the Raksha over such minor complaints. "You kidnapped my spouse", "You turned him into a monster!", and the ever popular "Oh god it's a Fae!". The answer to these problems? A cloak of brilliant colors, though none seem to agree on just which ones, The Ringleader's Cloak draws the mortals' attention away from the "atrocities" the wearer is committing. It also always seems to have just enough tickets to the show up it's sleeves, and no one is quite sure WHERE the tent comes from. With this cloak, the fae can be certain that the show will go on.
Assumption of wood form(1 point)
Imposition of Law(3 points) ensures that the fae will never embarrass himself in performance, ensuring he not ruin the show out of his own carelessness.
Gladdening Visage(1 point) keeps any nosy mortals from suspecting anything odd about the ringleader. It simply wouldn't do for a humble servant of the circus to outshine the other acts while they are on stage after all!
Ordinary Object Conjuration x 2(1x2 points) supplies the wearer of the Cloak with tickets to his show, as well as a suitable tent to house it in.
Fall of Night Shadows the Truth(3 point) is the centerpiece of the Cloak, an assurance that no one will be distracted from the show by pointless anger simply because the ringleader just transformed several of them. It's just another part of the show, that's all!

- A fairly considerable distance the East, there are three Freeholds that have been formed relatively recently, and cheerfully gone to war and intrigue against one another. They are the Grove of Silent Butterflies, the Hundred Hungers of the Honest Man, and the Cage of Sorrowful Limbs. One of them trusts you so much as to provide you with a pennant. One was king enough to host your show when you passed through. As to the last... well, you're in Drayne for many reasons.
Feel free to pick which is which!
- What action causes Heart Stealing Kiss to activate? Do note that its range is somewhat limited, and it activates at most once per scene. And it's an 'attack' of some sort, so a thematically appropriate roll will be involved (and will depend on the Attributes and Abilities of its lorekeeper, of course).
- Subversion and Transformation Artifice does not transform people, only animals (and people transformed into animals are still people). Furthermore, it grants mutations, not Mutation-keyword Fair Folk charms, so Ordinary Object Conjuration is out.
- What actions trigger the effects of the Whip?
- For the Cloak, the way the errata is written, you always get the same item with an Inward Facing Oneiromancy. This means that if the tent is ripped up, it'll stay damaged until fixed (or the spell is recast, possibly). For tickets, a large enough collection of tickets is fine, but people shredding theirs will have an impact. Inward Facing seems meant for personal augmentation (always have a knife on hand, or some such) while Outward Facing is more concerned with affecting others and the world at large.
- While the letter of the errata permits reflexively calling a palace at hand and at will for 1 point, I think I'll just say no to that particular bit of madness.

Also thought it was a limit of once per scene per target, though that's less important(and makes more sense the other way...). Was going to have the triggering condition be "cheering on the show" or something similar.
- Subversion and Transformation Artifice does not transform people, only animals (and people transformed into animals are still people). Furthermore, it grants mutations, not Mutation-keyword Fair Folk charms, so Ordinary Object Conjuration is out. I know Subversion and transformation Artiface only effects animals. Hence the Bestial Transformation being in there as well. I can change it if that doesn't work though. I'll also change the Ordinary Object Conjuration in a bit. I made the same mistake as Rik, mixing up real behemoths with the ones made by other charms.
- What actions trigger the effects of the Whip? I was clearly a bit lax in writing the trigger conditions I planned... Was going to effect volunteers from the audience, changing them by cracking it in their direction once they were on the stage.
Was not aware of that. Might change it around slightly in that case. Too bad flawless repairs of shredded paper and things is Solar territory.
- While the letter of the errata permits reflexively calling a palace at hand and at will for 1 point, I think I'll just say no to that particular bit of madness. Heh. Understandable. I was thinking more of a small tent, not even the size of most houses. Once the circus grows, I'll hopefully be using Principle of Worlds for a better one.
- What is the Ultimate Document? Artifact from Oadenol's codex. Appears to be whatever legal document, passport, etc. that you need. ("What do you mean officer, of course I have a permit for this circus! See?")
Eh. I'm being grumpy and sticking to the rules perhaps more than I should. The point is to have fun, not poke at every hole available.
So...
Oneiromancy - for Outward Facing Oneiromancies built on 1-point Assumptions, I'm going to go with a range of "close up". Not direct contact, and not a numeric value. More a matter of theme, as these are Fair Folk we're dealing with: if you expect to hit more than a dozen or so people all the time, you're probably going too far. This makes them entirely useable for combat, of course. With real restrictions I'll allow more people / bigger areas ("Must be used inside a circus tent" counts. "Must be used while standing on one leg" does not. Not does "Must be used on Calibration", because having a spell that is utterly useless or utterly powerful is boring to the players).
Bestial Transformation does not turn people into animals. A commoner fueling Bestial Transformation to turn people into horses wouldn't have enough mutation points to do so (Gazelle's Pace and nothing else) - yet there is an Illusion effect that covers up the details. "Yes, horses can play the piano - see Uncle Bob, there?"
Make an Outward Facing Oneiromancy with tickets and circus paraphernalia, and your supply never runs out - it just takes a little more time to conjure each bit.
The Unimpeachable Evidence
Sometimes, mortals manage to track the activities of the Fair Folk and try to bring them to trial. It is completely incomprehensible why the Creation-born blame soul eating on the one person in town with pointy ears, a habit of asking people for their dreams, and an aversion to cold iron. Thus, the Evidence was created, a sheaf of papers adequately proving whatever their master says.
1-dot Oneiromancy
Assumption of Dreams and Passion (trustworthy documents)
Untouchable Performer Technique (it is very difficult to incite ill feelings about the owner of the Evidence)
Fall of Night Shadows the Truth (people confronted with the Evidence forget the details of what they saw, simply recalling that it was very convincing.
Beguilement (anyone seeing the Evidence will find it extremely difficult to believe it false).
The Foundation of Empire
Many years ago, a noble and heroic expedition of Dragonbloods set forth to take and tame the Wyld. Laughing, they defeated the monsters that rose before them. With might and wrath, they scoured the lands of all threats to the Creation-born, and planted their banner where once a fey tower of bronze and and feathers stood. Then the people came, and reveled in the riches of the land, while their masters dreamed of the taxes they would raise.
That was the beginning of the end. To collect taxes, some administration was required, and the immigrants enthusiastically adopted the methods of the Realm. Then they began forming committees of their own, to solve the niggling problems that arose, passing on crucial lessons learned while taming the still Wyld infested land. And the paperwork grew, each new form essential, understandable, irreplaceable and utterly necessary.
Soon, the new kingdom found itself importing paper and ink from afar. The Dragonbloods consulted their maps, reviewed the relevant forms, and conquered the Wyld woods near at hand, turning fey trees into pulp and lumber, dead behemoths into ink an quills. And the paperwork grew. And grew. Each new increase critical to the survival of the new land, consuming more time and energy as it did so.
That kingdom is gone now, returned to the Wyld in a frenzy of burning and manic destruction. But the Foundation remains, for those who'd build an empire and need to know how to do so.
1-dot Outward Facing Oneiromancy
Assumption of Dreams and Passion (important documents that must be read and filled in detail)
Ordinary Object Conjuration (new and different forms. By the cubic foot, with appendices, caveats, cross references and corrections to one another)
Manacles of Virtue (enhances the Conviction of anyone determined to finish the paperwork)
Heart Stealing Kiss (devours the will to live of anyone dealing with the accursed forms)
Hmm... are you sure about bestial transformation just being an illusion? I might be wrong(quite likely in fact), but looking at the errata it appears to act rather differently in an outward-facing spell.
Quote:
This Charm may be incorporated into inward-facing dreams for two points, or outward-facing glamours for three points. Outward-facing glamours transform characters who undertake a certain sort of action specified during the creation of the spell into animals for one day per dot of the lorekeepers Essence.
Also, fixed the other noted problems already:
Heart Stealing Kiss(3 points, drains temperance) will, if the show manages the "standing ovation" the mask is named for, absorb a bit of that passion, draining the temperance of those in the front row.
Well, mostly.
triggering condition:crack the whip in someone's direction. They must have willingly volunteered to join the show.(though of course, they need not know how literal that is...)
Assumption of Bestial visage(1 point) gives the Whip it's form, a leather whip with a polished bone handle.
Behemoth Forging Meditation(3 points) changes those brave volunteers from the audience, granting them a permanent set of wings to make them more useful to the show.
Adaptation to adversity(3 points) gives the mortals on stage one more trick to add to the show: A complete immunity to flames.
Shiftless Untamed Beauty(3 points) ensures those effected will stick around for the next show, and won't object to their alterations.
Adored by All the World(2 points) allows the circus master to be certain he is not alone, wherever he goes. After all, his show is known far and wide. Or will be soon. (the roll can only be made immediately after a performance)
Fall of Night Shadows the Truth(3 point) is the centerpiece of the Cloak, an assurance that no one will be distracted from the show by pointless anger simply because the ringleader just transformed several of them. It's just another part of the show, that's all!

Subversion and Transformation affects mundane animals - not quite a category that includes transformed mortals.
(XX) Transformation specifies that it disguises the transformed being as whatever it is transformed into - and that said disguise is perfect, barring sufficiently high Abilities and Essence. So it's not a keyword-Illusion effect, but that's a good way of thinking of the overall result since you're unlikely to get enough mutation points to make the disguise complete.
More to the point, might I encourage people to post? The IC is feeling lonely, and the niggling details can (I hope) be resolved once the action has started.
More to the point, might I encourage people to post? The IC is feeling lonely, and the niggling details can (I hope) be resolved once the action has started.
Heh. Certainly. I'll post shortly.
Still slightly confused about Bestial transformation(Like how, while the charm certainly does what you say reading it... the errata's note for outward facing spells gives a COMPLETELY different effect.) I'll probably just change the spell a bit, use something less confusing.
I vote for Monarch to be boy & girl nearly indentical twins. Nobody can tell them apart without thorough examination once they start acting "identical" and dress up to it.

Spoiler
Background: He remembers going trough endless cycle of hunger and hunting, devouring and slumber ... until the time to repeat the cycle arose. Whatever lured him into Shaping himself, he doesn't even care. He does remember one clever fox, covered in silvery chains and thus he assumed a form fitting the cleverness, wich was a refreshing alternative to the monotonous brutality of other Hannya. Yes, he learned later ... what a fascinating concept by the way, that Shaped called his kin this way. Unfortunately, when he arrived at the house of the clever fox's lair ... it attacked and bit him, showing him that mindless brutality was the same in these, too. A clever quip saved his once silver fur with golden tatoo-marks and the moon fox stole his shape ! After drinking contest, wich he promptly lost learning about the concept of consequence The Fox and fake-fox reached an agreement. He generously gifted the moon-fox with his current shape and assumed inmediately reverse shape, with extra tails for good meansure. Flashed a victorious grin at the dumbfounded moon-fox and fled back into the Rakshastan. Here one thing led to another and after some misunderstanding The Fox was kicked out from the Court ... for abusing the Hospitality, whatever it was. He merrily fled from his fans among the raksha, who were so impressed with his story about the fox's innate craftiness that they all reshaped to inherit some portion of the Fox's glorious cleverness. And travels among the mortals were most enlightening ... despite their Calcified existences they were trying ... even if only in this boorishly barbaric fashion that he regretted so much. And then he started to slowly understand the puzzle of his existence as a being of shape. Happy thoughts, happy thoughts !
Appearance:
Slightly curly wheat-gold hair, flowing down to his back. Alvays seem to be played with by a breeze. Dignified and slightly otherwordly face, with distant gaze staring through the things. Slightly transparent, porcelain white skin that is little cool to the touch. Always seem to have fresh leaves in his hair and is surrounded by the scent of fresh grass. His blood oozes slowly and looks like purple sap. And smells of blackberry. Magnificient tail and whiskers point out to his inhumanity, as well as carnivore teeth and pointy fox ears of his. Fur on his body, sideburns, ears and tail is a delightful mix of wheat-gold and carrot orange. Except the immaculately white tip of his tail, that is.

Extras are there to be disposed of, as is often the case in Exalted. That said, you are all blessed with senses beyond human norm, so the bandits are still a ways off. Rushing to get to the appetizers first might be construed as being rude. Or not.
In any case, I'm declaring some delay occurs between chattering as a group and meeting the ruffians. Just in case.
Cup so far has the starting places I want to have)
Shouldn't be a problem; I'm very much focussed on the Sword part, flavourwise at least.
Name: Ariel
Spoiler
Type and Caste: Xia Fae (Noble) Motivation Bear the story of the greatest swordswoman in Creation
Backstory
Ariel awoke in creation some time ago, confused, lightheaded, alone. Hungry. A huge blade lay beside her, and she knew it was hers. She knew who she was and what she was, but nothing of how she came here, or who she was Before.
She wandered out of the place she had found herself, searching for someone or something.
She found a tournament of arms. It was perfect, beautiful. Serendipitous.
She entered without a second thought.
Travelling from one tournament to the next, claiming to be a person of the air, sustaining herself on the bravery of her foes and the adoration of her fans.
It was going well, but at least one person had caught on. A Dragonblooded, Air aspect, who was renowned as a treasure hunter, sought her out and tried to slay her. He failed, and she took his equipment as payment. It has become her habit to take a trinket from any foe she defeats, and a little bit of fame is starting to precede her in tournaments.
But for now, she finds herself in Drayne, a land of opportunity. Finding out about a new tournament could be nice, or expanding those that worship her considerable skill.

One thing, though: the artifact-3 background requires that you have at least four 1-dot artifacts. And, per errata, you are limited to 3 dots (= artifact background) of non-Grace Magic artifacts.
Gossamer Wing Flight is now a permanent Charm, with no cost. Thus saving you some gossamer.
What do you want out of the Transcendent Phoenix Pinions anyway? Flight comes from Gossamer Wing Flight (or an Oneiromancy / Adjuration with same), extra speed can be gained with Wings (combined with Gossamer Wing Flight) (from Charm via charm with Fantastic Grotesquerie Shell or Elemental Transformation / from an inward Oneiromancy via Transformation / from an Adjuration) or Racing Dragon Speed (Adjuration or Charm). Bonuses to dodge are Surpassing Excellence (Charm / Adjuration), Sovereign Air Shape (Charm / outward Oneiromancy), Rarefied Air of Inevitable Victory (Charm / inward Oneiromancy)...
Leliel: good to hear. Not sure about how / if pdf format works. Worst case scenario, upload it somewhere and provide a link, I suppose.
Mutation points? That would probably be from Grace magic, I suspect.
