- The Maw is really just a distraction. All it can really do is eat the bandit. Anything else is reversible (this includes you being devoured). It is an opportunity to show off your skills.
- You have been subjected to a Cup Shaping attack. Thus, there is a Fair Folk somewhere in the Wood, trying to impose its will on you. This is rude (unless it's more powerful than you, which it isn't).
* You can hunt it down through mundane means, via exploring the Wood. This is not too difficult if you have suitable Abilities.
* You can seek it out via Shaping, so as to engage in personal conflict. This would require a decent Perception + Awareness roll, as Shaping is difficult.
* You can throw Shaping effects across the Wood in an attempt to affect it. Make the Wood burn, call on all the Wood's spirits to reveal the Raksha in their midst, radiate trustworthiness and love everywhere... No need for Perception + Awareness, but attacks are a bit harder.
- There are other things in the Wood, which can be discovered via mundane or Shaping searching. This may leave you open to interference from the other Raksha, though.
About Shaping and the Wood:
- You all entered the Wood more or less together, so you're all aware of each other.
- Therefore, you can interfere in any scene others are in (via Shaping), whether you're present or not. Of course, if you're not there, you need to work through the environment, through hordes of fantasy minions, or whatever.
- This includes accompanying the bandit out of the Wood (or keeping an eye on him as he leaves) and being there to face the Maw.
- Doing anything via Shaping still has that annoying +5 difficulty on it.
- The Maw you are facing is a Wyld thing. Therefore, nothing it does to you is permanent. If you want to be devoured and emerge intact, go for it. Anything it does to the bandit is permanent, though...
- The Maw is not a Fair Folk - so anything you Shape it into doing works. (+5 Difficulty here). This includes being dead, turning into butterflies, and so forth. Given its nature, thematic effects (kill or be killed, taming it, etc.) are easier than drastic changes (inviting it to tea).
- Shaping attacks using Society, Hazards, and similar approaches can affect the Fair Folk who tried a Cup attack, even if you're not sure what it looks like. It's a matter of you taking over the narrative.
- Personal prowess or spirited negotiation (as Shaping attacks) do require that you be aware of what you're dealing with. This will become fairly evident as soon as you try Shaping against it.
I'll try to go back, and Shape something crafty ... once I have the Creation-born out of the picture. And Fox will congratulate himself on his steel nerves.
Waiting, normally, for other players to do something. I try to post once per action of the critter. As I certainly won't flurry here ... too difficult.

Ganurath: nice roll! Do note that Shaping based perception does not benefit from Assumption based die adders - that's what the Excellencies are for. So it's either a Ring Shaping action with fewer dice, or a mundane Per+Aware roll.
Meshlum, can I try another Raksha action here ? By that I mean copying the Wyld Stunt done by example Raksha in GWM and make leaves Fox'll shake off the tree, with help of a breeze that constantly surrounds him to cut down the Mushroom Monster(tm).
As I have to channel willpower, and my Valor, here due to Lure ... am I interpreting the rules (about Wyld Stunts) properly here ?

Rik: I'm surprised that your Lure would be leading you to Bedlam this early. Post-errata, your Lure must be linked to a virtue which is rated at 3+. And this seems the first time you've channeled Valor.
That said, if your Valor is 1 and you choose to enter Bedlam by channeling it, I suppose I shall have to deal with the result. Though why you'd spend 1 wp in order to gain 1 die rather than an automatic success is a bit beyond me.
Could you confirm how / why / if you're doing this?
Performing a Wyld Stunt with the intention of damaging the Maw is certainly an option. That said, Shaping initiative-wise, you're somewhat behind the rest (as you've already acted).
Saying so, I deliberately entered Bedlam to check out this stuff with Your kind guidance. And as the Maw have new master ... I'm thinking of using the Wyld Stunt option on the Raksha.
Saying so, what would be most helpful ? If made of leaves, wind and rhythm ? I'm asking my Co-Players ...
P.S. So ... I should change my Lure to one less funny ?

- If you wish to perform Ring Shaping, you're changing the world around you (and others) into a place where the rules you want apply.
For instance, the Voice tried to turn the Wood into a giant torture chamber, where limbs wold be the normal currency.
- Staff Shaping involves convincing people to follow your rules, as well as having people who follow your rules appear.
For instance, a pack of squirrels could appear and decree that anyone over seven feet tall is a god and must be honored with offerings of gold and willow bark.
- Sword Shaping involves taking things by force, be it via armies, your own skills, or simple destruction.
A hurricane flattening this section of the Wood and leaving only you (and the treasures you want to own) behind is a possibility.
- Cup Shaping involves all forms of emotional manipulation in order to get others to do what you want.
Declaring that the Voice is in love with the Maw, and desires nothing more than to offer its head to the animated plant, is perfectly acceptable.
These options can overlap a lot, and creativity is welcome. Ultimately, the type of Shaping you use depends on the final outcome you're after.
Right now, the Voice is employing Ring Shaping, and its goal is to force you (one by one) to venture into Creation and bring back mortals for... experiments. It has just failed to have any effect, and is now open to retaliation of whatever form you might devise.
- Sword: take its possessions (or even its Sword Grace, in order to force it to serve you).
- Cup: warp its thoughts so that it wants you to be happy. Or is terrified of displeasing you, or...
- Ring: force it to serve you in some manner, either short or long term.
- Staff: attain any of the above effects, but more slowly.
Edit: Ganurath: the Ring shaping attack failed on its own. No need to parry, per se - but feel free to turn that into something more!
Sorry for my tardiness, I had a writer's indecisivness biting my [CENSORED], will write something in the evening. Apologies, Meschlum and Co-Players, again.

Now let's wait for the other players, I would like to speak with them about a Glamour Combo, and no not the one mimicking the plebeian combos made by Exalts. Or the lazy option from GWM Errata. Wich is nice, but ...
What if we coordinate our actions, like orchestra of singular instruments cooperating to create a concerto that takes breath away, to build up our act into awesome display of a Wyld Stunt ?
I'm curious if anyone would be interested in such a ... combo, worth it's name IMO, for our mutual enjoyment.^^
EDIT: And Yes, Meschlum, dice tend to have a dynamic relationship with me. Either absolute hate, but with rare botches, or extreme love.

- The Voice is a Commoner who has somehow lost its Assumption Charm. Meaning it will literally waste away if it leaves the Wood, and can't sustain a real shape inside the Wood either - needing to Shape a new body for itself with each scene...
- It currently belongs to Marahsek, whose main characteristic at this moment is Not Being Here. So while you can't vex away the Voice's Heart, it'll be subservient and cooperate with you in most matters.
- The Voice knows Oath Gossamer, and the Wood has access to small amounts of gossamer (oddly enough, a production comparable to that of your Gossamer backgrounds. Fancy that. Plus a little extra for plot purposes, of course). Thus, you can have it create such Oaths among yourselves, establishing relationships that will keep you supplied with gossamer.
- If you want to know more about the story of the Wood and vicinity, rather than the mechanics, you'll have to ask... And the Voice is naturally a perfectly unbiased and well informed being. Right?
At least with Rulenizo giving him stern glance and Fox snickering behind her back ? Yes, Meschlum I believe that Voice'll be as truthful as possible.^^
And I just realized that with such "massacre" on the Voice, Fox's attack could go into his Sword ... better to hit him hard enough to make him compliant, right ?
Ganurauth, do You want to create Oath between our two, sadly last remaining, party memebers ? I would love to have Gossamer, for example. Have family to feed, etc. And need it to build You your Hut on Chicken Legs.

A commoner who's already been looted would have little of value to take. Target his Ring instead.
As for the offer of an oath, let me see if I can increase our headcount. Myl is having internet trouble, Lix is archive binging Homestuck, and Dragnar is suffering from writer's block.

I recommend the opening of myriad tabs so that you can catch up on everything even if your internet cuts out early. I call it the 2AM Backlog Manuever.
