What is Omnitopia: The Playground?
OTP (That's the official acronym) is set in a fictional MMORPG named Omnitopia. One of the users on the forums (the identity of that user won't be revealed for a long time, but I can assure you: It is NOT Scuzzball ) has set up a server for the users of the forums. Nonsense ensues, players set up a city in spawn, the Lord of Shadows tries to start a zombie apocolypse, and more nonsense ensues. Nearly all of the characters in the comic are actual users on these forums, including myself.
Can I appear?
Sure! If you want to appear, go to the Omnitopia: The Playground Permissions Thread in Arts and Crafts and post there.
Will there be any romance sub-plots?
No way. If there is a romance sub-plot, it will be between NPCs.
Who is the server?
The identity of the server will remain a secret throughout the comic as a running gag and as something for readers to guess upon. When I first started out the comic, I had a basic idea of who the server was but quickly got rid of it in favor of the "mystery" element.
Okay then. Who did you originally intend the server to be?
This question won't be answered.
Will you ever stop taking permissions?
Nope.
Is there an official timeline of the events in the comic?
Yes. I'll put up the official time-line soon.
"In-game" how do the PCs talk? Voice chat? Text chat?
The answer is neither. In Omnitopia, there's numerous types of voices you can choose for your character. You type in what you want him to say, and the voice you've chosen says it for him/her.
When does Giftsday occur?
Giftsday occurs on December 4th. The developers of Omnitopia set it that day so that way on Christmas, players can be with their families without missing out on anything in the game.
Why is How the Grlump Stole Giftsday in White and [color of the laurel Grlump has]?
It is done to pay homage to Ted Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss.
Rules for the boardgame
Spoiler
The rules are simple:
To move, roll a d4
Use coins or D&D minis for your player tokens
Grab a piece of paper, and write each player's name on it. Under each player's name, write "LEVEL UPS", then beneath that right "INFRACTIONS". Every time you land on a square with green dots, draw an asterik for each dot by Level Ups.
Every time you land on a square with red dots, draw an asterik for each dot by Infractions.
At the end of the game, subtract your Level Ups by your Infractions. Whoever has the highest Level Ups left wins!
Dedications
Spoiler
Omnitopia: The Playground is dedicated to my Ampa, and TurtleKing. May they both rest in eternal peace.

Yeah. When Crimson Angel and Blue Ghost encountered the Ogre in the forest, Crimson Angel dropped them the first time the Ogre whacked him with his club. The two proceeded to run away from the Ogre before Crimson Angel got the chance to pick up the swords.

Here's a full recap of the on-screen battle:
The Ogre whacks Blue Ghost with his club. Because of his high melee bonus damage, and the fact that he also hit Blue Ghost in the forest, Blue Ghost gets knocked out instantly.
Grlump rushes forwards and attacks the Ogre with his greataxe. Grlump gets a critical hit, causing triple damage. The attack seriously lowers the Ogre's health. The Ogre, enraged, kicks Grlump causing a lot of damage and knocking Grlump in the air. Grlump smashes back into the ground, causing more damage. Grlump get's knocked out.
The Lord of Shadows fires a Ray of Burning at the Ogre. Although it didn't do a lot of damage, combined with Grlump's earlier attack, it lowers the Ogre's health to 1/4 of it's normal amount. The Ogre's self-preservation AI kicks in, and the Ogre surrenders.

I prefer Ray of Lasers, myself. Also, you might want to include the cool pointy thingys that show who's talking. Also, you might want to show a ka-pow thingy or burny thingy for the ray. Also, the color looks kinda... strange. Maybe make it a little thicker? Also, maybe you should put some kind of beginning burst to show where the ray starts? Also, this is alot of alsos.
