Hmm. The Mousetrap and the quote in the vent are obvious, but a third one just hit me--the harmless snake on Finn's shoulder is a reference to how King Hamlet died. Or how he didn't, I guess. Are there any others that I missed?
From Hamlet:
Spoiler
-Finn and Jake try to find the guilt of the conspirators in a play.
-The Flame King apparently killed his brother to ascend to the throne.

Of course I would forget to mention the whole ending.
And the play is "The Mousetrap," or "The Murder of Somethingsomething."
It's been a while.
Also, is the "loss of experience" just a gag or do y'all think it'll actually come up later in a literal way?

So is "the Lich" going to be this years Halloween episode? I mean, I checked the upcoming episodes on the wiki, and that episode is like 3 or 4 episodes away. Given how Halloween is just about a month away, they seem to be taking week breaks sometimes between new episodes, and it's the friggin' Lich, doesn't this seem likely?
Well, in Fiona and Cake, the Ice Queen was pretty competent.
But what if the Lich teamed up with Hunson Abadeer and the Flame King? They'd make quite the power trio.
Well, the thing is, Hunson and the Flame King, while evil, aren't absolutely evil like the Lich. Hunson seems more like Neutral Evil-leaning Chaotic Evil, while the Flame King is Lawful Evil-leaning Neutral. The Lich? He's full-on Chaotic Evil. It's kind of like how devils exist to conquer (like the Flame King) or obtain souls (like Hunson), while demons exist to destroy (like the Lich).
Also, by comparison, the Ice King and Lemongrab are both Slaad because they're both Chaotic Stupid.

Not to turn this into an alignment debate, but Chaotic Evil is not 'more evil' than Lawful or Neutral Evil. Evil is evil. The Lawful/Chaotic axis has nothing to do with how evil you are, just in your belief in order/structure or freedom/independence.

The problem with the more recent editions of D&D is that at some point the term 'player empowerment' was twisted to mean 'player entitlement.'

Good point. I still don't think it'd be likely for either of them, particularly the Flame King, to ally with a guy like the Lich who just wants to destroy everyone and everything.

We've seen the Lich team up with people or at least work with others - the bear. Besides, we don't know the Flame King's true intentions and motivations. They could find a common purpose.
But the bear is, dispite what agenda he might have, stupid. Most creatures on Ooo have the ability to speak normaly, but the Bear seems to be a little more beastly then the others. The Lich is probably just manipulating the poor guy. It's like saying he was working with Finn when he was getting the chemicals when he possessed Bubblegum.
Also, the entire Fire Kingdom is probably the sort of "stay at home evil" that is content to stay around inside there own little molten bubble most of the time. Think Dnd Efreets.

Who's to say the Lich isn't smart enough to manipulate the Flame King? Also, I'm sure the Flame King wouldn't be against expanding his kingdom.

We have not seen enough of the Flame King to prove anything about his inteligence. Also, Flamy is at least on speaking terms with Bubblegum, but the Lich does seem to have some fire powers. Realy, it would be hard to say, exactly.
There is probably something going on between the Fire and Ice kingdoms, tho, even if the Ice King has little clue about it. If the Lich needed the Flame Kings help and just didn't threaten him with his life, he could just agree to kill off Simon in return for burning allies.

For if she existed as paper, now she exists in the minds of Finn and Jake. Now she may change and evolve, forcing them to write more stories about her so that they may continue her story and let other people know about her.

Does anyone know who voiced the king/elder of the swamp-fish people? It's driving me crazy.
