So a few things we know... Ooo is a post-apocalyptic earth. The Enchiridion and Ice King's crown (and logically every other gem that was used to open the portal) predate whatever turned Earth into Ooo. The Lich knows quite a bit about the Enchiridion and what it's capable of.
So maybe the Lich predates Ooo. Maybe the Lich caused whatever turned Earth into Ooo. Maybe he used the Enchiridion in the past before Billy was around to stop him.

I just caught up on the season finale and your theory makes sense. Though what is the Lich's motivation here at the end? Maybe the Lich is trying to revert Ooo back to Earth so that he can properly conquor it and what we're seeing is an alternate timeline of that?
Ooo is full of magical powers, so I think it would make sense for the Lich King to revert the land to where only he had the magic powers. Makes conquoring easier. what with him being imprisoned for so long in Ooo and then when he breaks free it doesn't take long for the magic of Friendship a sweater and Ice King to foil his plot.

Awesome, although I can't help but feel disappointed if the hour long episode described isn't made :( I didn't like the previous BMO episode very much, hope this one is more interesting, the same goes for the new 5 short graybles.

However i did find is THIS promo for the next episode which blatently reveals the lich's goals which actually wasn't too hard to guess given what Bubblegum said before about him... but i doubt the lich's goal is what's gonna make the next episode so interesting as you can make a lot of speculation out of that promo

Unfortunatly, sentinent life causes magic to be stifled. Humanity, at least in Finns universe, was just the begining.

So, I was thinking, with MLP a new series is a big deal and many people stream the new episodes live as they air. Does anyone know if there is anything like that for Adventure Time? Or at the very least does anyone have any idea how long it would take for an episode to be posted online?

I think the UK gets it's own promos. Plus I didn't really start watching the show until quite late. I think we've only just finished season 3 over here.
