Counter-Counter-Speculation-Rich didn't fully plot the story until round about stip 100 and he did not finalise it into the intricate crystal it is today until Miko showed up.

Why isn't Amun-Zora (aka Future Mrs. Tarquin #10) mentioned in the OP?

That's how I understand it as well:

-Nale was the only villain initially intended to be recurring (based on the commentary); this is settled by #15 (goat prophecy).
-The Gate plot and whether Dorukan was a person or something else developed around the time of #71.
-The MitD's identity is settled by #100 (commentary).
-Last minute changes to the Order of the Scribble were made right before #196 (above link).

Bwuh-huh?

Rich further clarifies and fleshes out the plot -every- strip which comes out.-

The assertion here was that Trigak's 'significant other' was a line placed in the comic to serve as a Chekov's Gun, but Rich later abandoned that plotline. It is an assertion entirely lacking of supporting evidence and I'm really not sure how noting that Rich would continue to refine the plot over the next eight-hundred strips addresses the issue :P

The question is not whether Rich added and refined the plot, the question is whether he wholesale abandoned entire arcs which he had originally intended.

In the first place, it was not an "assertion" but a speculation, and clearly stated as such.

In the second place, it may not have any direct evidence to support the speculation, but it does fit closely to what is known of the development of ideas.

In the third place, I do not speculate that the plot was "abandoned" but that it was improved before he used it. To clarify: my speculation is that he had vague plans for a storyline where Trigak's mate returns to seek revenge on Belkar. The black dragon plot is the same idea, but improved.

And that is still speculation, not an assertion.

I think we can delete these two. Red Cloak has Xykon's Phylactery, and I think it's safe to say that Tsukiko will NOT be helping Xykon with the ritual...

Edit: Oops! I didn't realize there was a "II" version of this thread. Oh well.

How about this one guys, Given that the Starshine's and Draketooth's are both redhaired and grossly untrustful of others, could they be one in the same family? Specifically the Starshines being a non-magic using branch.
