Ah, I understand your situation perfectly, Coffee. Or rather, my college just had a long weekend. I spent four days of rest and relaxation back home, only to return to school tonight and realize that three of my four classes assigned homework over the weekend and all of it is due tomorrow. Yikes.
This is kinda random, but it's a thought that popped into my head this morning: In the last panel of Of Course He Won't (a couple of comics ago), Matt says, in the last panel, "Fortune, if this works, I'm taking levels as your cleric." Which he won't, because, among other things, Matt's wisdom score is...abysmal.
But if he were to be a cleric of the most commonly worshipped pantheon (Fate, Fortune, and Twist) in Tobeem, his homeland, he'd be a cleric of either Fortune or Twist, because they're trickster deities. I say deities because while Twist is a god, Fortune is a goddess (she's basically the Aequarian equivalent of Lady Luck).
It's a bit strange, but look at many of the well-known trickster deities and archetypes in mythology, fairy tales, and folklore. Loki, Raven, Coyote, Anansi, Reynard, Thoth, almost all of the trickster archetypes are male. And yet Fortune, who's older than Twist, is a goddess.
Fortune and Twist are trickster deities in slightly different ways (although many of the stories about them do say that they're pranking buddies, much to the chagrin of Fate and the rest of the gods), and Don does have a bit of a whimsical side (and he's the dwarven god!), but it was just something I found interesting, how I unconsciously played with Fortune. Or not. Your choice.
# The Atoner: Lloyd is certainly one, being a former paladin of Kago, and apparently recognizable enough to be seen by a random person in the street as a murderer. Go, Lloyd!
Erm... I don't think she was random.... Didn't Lloyd personally kill her family and kick her out of her house?

Just spent um the last four hours reading this. Great work. It has a complex story to keep you interested and enough comedy to lighten it's mood.
Also all the main character's are interesting and are definitely not what they appear to be. Lloyd is certainly the most likable Paladin I've ever encountered :).
I look forward to future installments and thank you for creating this! :D

Even more likable than Miko? *gasp*

Everyone likes Miko... Likes to dislike her that is
If I am disappointed with any of the characters it will have to be Radic... She hasn't developed much (save relationship wise and that only recently), but certainly has an interesting unknown to us background. All in good time I guess :). Also she hasn't shown much of the whole druid philosophy that associated with the class, but again that doesn't she doesn't have it.

Yeah, I completely understand what you mean. It irks me too, that I don't understand all my characters as well as I'd like to. Radic's a bit of an interesting case though, because of the combination of her class and the environment in which she grew up (actually, they're all like that ). Hopefully you'll see more of that in the coming comics.
Well, the golden era of fanfiction did start only after the internet became common. I don't think Aequar has that kinda of system. Before the net, there were few methods to spread such stories, since fanfiction obviously can't be published.
...Though I suppose she could have started a fanfiction writing club at the Magic Academy or something
True, but otherwise fanfiction is certainly just as old as fiction. There were probably yaoi fangirls of Gilgamesh's epic in Babylonian times.
When about a religion, fanfictions were just called apocryphs.

The Gilgamesh epic we have goes back to a Sumerian original of which only fragments have been found. Even more fragmented than the Babylonian one, which is a pretty sad state. So it could plausibly be called fan fiction.

I will never get these jokes the first time. Tinder's funny.
You mean the title gag? Or Matt's last line? Because in the last panel, Matt just wants Radic to dress in tight black leather armor from now on instead of her blue leather vest. Emphasis on "tight," and, "black."
